- For the High Bars Act in Alegría, a group of acrobats fly, twist and spin on a structure in the air. Once they fly off the structure, the acrobats are caught by other acrobats on a swinging trapeze.
Alegría, a hymn to life and youth, evokes a time when fantasy and magic were integral parts of everyday life. Alegría toured in 250 cities around the world, reaching 14 million spectators. Even after its last bow in 2013, Alegría continues to mesmerize people around the world!

The precision and skill this takes is phenomenal. These people are risking their lives for entertainment. Even half an inch out of line and their life could be over. True professionals. Bravo! Without a doubt one of the best Cirque acts IMHO.
They have a safety net tho
they can still fatally injure themselves though if they land badly on their net from that height (e.g. neck)

i feel lucky to have been able to see Alegria when it still toured. this was just as impressive under the big tent as one can imagine. if Alegria toured again i would buy ticket again. its that good.

amazing, miss the show so much, please do a video for the shoulder pole wire, its my favourite act from alegria as it was so unique
the thing that amazes me tho is that they can grip each other's hands properly with their guards on!!! I did gymnastics for 12 years and let me tell you, those things are great for gripping the bar, but they're NOT made for gripping people.

I'm curious as to how loyal Cirque Du Soleil are to their preforming employers? Who stays in, who gets kicked out after a season? (Aside from the obvious reasons). Do each of them have to audition every season despite having already preformed in Du Soleil?
+mariashutter they have a list of people who are basically "in" and decide who they need for what show, but most of the people don't just do this for Cirque, they are olympians, or athletes, or dancers outside of Cirque too
