Thanks for the solstice weather update Philip, this slow moving low has been really interesting, look forward to the next system, hopefully there is a better wind forecast for the transpacific sailers!
Thank you for the update and the positive twists. Beautiful day here in Christchurch, fluffy towels are being made and the sun is always lovely behind the glass. Enjoy your weekend sleep in, don't overdo it, next weekend is 3 days. Keep warm.
Hi Phil, yep shortest day , awesome 👍 it still feels like spring.. maybe we are not going to have a winter ? Suits me..😂 have a good weekend you guys 🇳🇿✨🌞🌕
I love the shortest day as from now on everyday it gets longer and longer and I know we are on the journey back to Summer. No Summer down here in Southland - last Summer……bring it on 😄💫🎯🌞
I'm grateful to Philip and the team for providing a detailed, no-nonsense weather forecast. A pleasant change and huge relief from the cringe worthy offerings on NZ FTA tv.
After watching the latest Avatar,. For the emmys : 2hrs of Avatar vs 2hrs of Phils winter forceasts. And the winner is:????????. Congrats Phil for an outstanding performance, lol.
4:10 "They just suddenly develop when you have low pressure like this around" The low pressure channels electric current down from the Ionosphere to the ground bringing with it charged particles from the Sun and Cosmic radiation which attracts and concentrates water in the atmosphere. The current flow (like ALL current flow) is surrounded by a rotating magnetic field which gives rise to the clockwise spin of the low as the current comes down through the atmosphere. High pressure channels current from the ground UP to the Ionosphere and rotates it in the opposite direction - sans charged particles = clear air. This is called the Global Electric Circuit. The stronger the activity on the Sun the higher the current flow (from the Solar Wind) the more extreme the weather. We are now near Solar maximum...The Sun drives the weather - right down to INSTANT hurricane's generated directly below a strong Solar Flare... one day they will teach this. The Universe is Electric.
Thanks Phil for the great video I watch all the time from Moranbah in central Queensland you show what weather we expect as well thanks for covering such a large area cheers Phil and team

@@WeatherWatchTV Many thanks.
Why does NZ not need a nuclear power plant until 2050?
why is Gisborne never on your map? yet small town Wairoa is
Because it's just referencing random points on a map. We don't provide any main centre forecasts in our videos, that is all on our app and websites.
Trends area Rain Wind Temp never loads.
Are you using the app or website? And if so - what mobile device, or browser?
Thanks!
Thank you for the kind extra support! :)
