Low pressure returns to NZ this Sunday/Monday

- Wind and rain push across NZ later this weekend and into early next week as a low pressure zone that has now been with NZ for an entire week continues on. However this eastern movement of the low on Sunday and Monday will finally see it crossing the country and, all things going smoothly, it should finally depart our shores by Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, almost two full weeks since it first arrived.
We track the progress of this low - and the brief area of high pressure likely coming in behind it later next week. - Розваги
No need to thank us for joining, we thank YOU for hosting such an informative weather forecast
So great to get a decent weather forecast these days, this also means I don't have to watch the TV news anymore.
Thanks Philip!
My favorite weather forecasts.😊. Thank you and have a good weekend.
Thanks for the update. Now we know how Tasmania felt when they had the blessed low for 10 days. You run out of teatowels, towels, knickers😮 back up too much information. Take care people.

Wet weekend for Rockville golden bay
Ah well, its winter anyway.🐞
will someone please explain how a stationary high pressure system can persist off the east coast of NZ over the open ocean without moving; what forces are at work here?
I find your lack of faith disturbing😅
It's complicated but think of a river with a strong flow - sometimes the edges of it are calm and don't move - almost like a mini lake - that's what highs can do in the sky despite the Southern Ocean "river" of westerlies.
It left ?
I love a howling easterly but it's starting to get a bit old 😂
Living in a house truck has been lìke being at sea 😅
Next update 21/6/24
My goat Gary has not been liking all this rain
I often think of Gary! Give him my love :)
A bit of a bit is better than to much of the same
first again
How on earth are you not predicting all the rain in Canterbury? It's been raining aggressively for hours and hours and hours. Have you ever heard of seasonal depression?
Look at the rain radar - there isn't much!
Forget the politically correct Kia Ora nonsense
Just greet in English as we are all one
He has done that from day one . Don't be so ignorant .
I've said Kia Ora since I was a child because I grew up in Bay Of Plenty where not only English was spoken. If saying hello to people outside of English triggers your deep racism you may want to switch to another forecaster.
