You said the one on the left had lots of improvements but you only named a few minor things and they were personal preference. You also said the one on the left has fewer buttons but it actually has at least one more than the one on the right. The most significant difference I could see is the left one made espresso 3° warmer than the right one. Since you really showed no significant improvement in the left one, I personally would select the one on the right…. Unless you forgot to point out some other significant differences.
Looking at buying one of these maybe. My current cheapo Mr Coffee died and one of our favorite features on it was that you could steal a cup while the pot was still brewing. Is that a feature on either of these models? Or do you have to wait for the full pot to finish before pouring a cup?

Can you show us how to decalcify the older mode. I’m at a loss with mines.

I've seen it its very similar a couple different switch on the side for steam but it's the same thing performance wise,
I just meant if you have the older model it's not enough difference to buy the newer one.
