    You went from "is this even possible" to "false alarm, just bark". And gained more energy to crack that wood. Well done 👏👏

    Thoren, that smile at the end to me means so much. It boldly embodies masculine self-esteem and I admire that.

    LOL, my old man bucked up a tree with exactly the same "features". The knot was even in a more anatomically correct place. He proudly set it in the driveway for all to see.

    I have one question: was that piece not a bit too high? You were definitely able to split it but I wonder if there is a limit? Just for the sake of the swing of the ax.

    Splitting it the other way, 90 degrees from that, looks way nicer. I've never tried with a fork that big, but sometimes it's the easier way to go. You're splitting from 6 o'clock to 12 o'clock. I'm talking from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock, in contrast.

    Ok nice fella Im coming at you😉. Your arms are twice the size of mine, your half my age but this northwester with a little luck just might beat you in a split off. At the very least I could increase your splitting power by a sizable measure! It's you back of house swing, its not there! I believe you need to reach back out far behind you with the head of your maul. Extension is key make the path of that hunk of steel as long as you can.This gives you more opportunity to make it accelerate. You are currently just tossing it back behind your shoulder forcing the path to change 90 degrees, then a short jerky swing where your strength has to make up for you technique. I am willing to bet that if you start to make a big huge circle with the bit you could add close to 40% to the speed of your swing.

      @yannickwillemse2551,
      I think it is an Oschenkopf. He never says that I've seen.
      Here is a video of four high dollar mauls, one being the occhenkopf, the name nobody can pronounce correctly:
      ua-cam.com/video/53CwvubxDMU/v-deo.html
      Stihl, Gedore, Helko, her other brands that use a wooden handle and some of them use two round holding wages like you see when he finishes those strikes you can see two round things holding the handle on those are holding wedges
