hi sir,by the way what if i play a 2160p movie on a 4k tv? is the fps will automatically be 60 fps? 🤔
The 60fps variant was "smoother" but the floatiness of the frames on quick movements were really jarring.
Probably cus it was rendered tbh. I recommend Noodle's video on animations having AI turn 24/30 fps videos into 60fps and why it looks dogshit
@@oxpel.1 Yeah I also thought 60 fps looked like crap
Yeah as well as the transitions, seems this was rendered before scene transitioning was put in to consideration for these interpolation projects
That was masking being rendered

No
60fps seems like a video game bruh!
because it feels more real?
well, video game became more realistic these days ya know.
Frodo Baggins no. Because it’s has smooth motion like a third person video game. A realistic scene would be less smooth with more motion blur and more rigid movement.
MrzPear This doesn't make any sense. Real life doesn't have an FPS limit, does it make real life look unrealistic ? No
@@WH1T3Freedent bruh movies have 30fps and they look more natural but 60fps does not look realistic at all
60fps make you feel like it’s really happening. Like you’re right there. I like, for superhero scenes just because it’s so satisfying. But there’s nothing like that cinematic 24fps. Can’t beat it.
Idk, nothing beats watching this movie in the cinema
@syed jawad I love it I gives it a sense of realism and fight scenes look better with it
When you use 24fps you constantly have to change the FPS to 20 or 22 to make fight scenes look good
Unfortunately, every time I’ve seen 60 FPS I film, it does make it seem like it’s really happening. But not in a good way. It makes it feel like I’m watching a soap opera live on set. It makes everything feel obviously fake and acted. It doesn’t let actors disappear into their roles.
But they also morph between shots which is annoying
Smallvillefreak616 Exactly. It remove all the “movie magic”
damn i swear it was already really smooth on 24fps like "no full auto indoors" and then 60fps was like "that isn't, this is full auto"
Soup Opera Iron man!
Nice reference
Dam O.K
That video is hilarious
dayum bro ok
60fps was smooth as Buttery biscuit.
it looses more than it gains.
And its blurry
And it looks as bad as a terd
@@TheHexeract That’s true
Lol this reply section is literally noodle’s video’s influence
I feel like this is an issue with the conversion process. 60fps looks weird for sure, but not nearly as bad out of camera. I think interpolating it from 24fps is what causes a lot of the weirdness
Exatamente, para fazer uma boa interpolação, o video tem que está no mínimo a 30 fps originais.
its more to do with the chit motion handing of LCD / OLED tvs....watch it on a plasma or CRT and its perfect , no issues at all
60 fps looks great but for some reason it always feels like it’s sped up when it’s not. also noticed some visual tearing. though it looks great, movies need to be played under 30fps to show the feel and vibe that the director intended for us to feel.
That,s because it isn,t intended to work at 60fps, if they made it with the 6fps idea in mind it would be much more natural
If you have a newer phone go shoot a random video at 60fps and it won't look like this
Its because its AI making it 60fps. If directors used 60fps cameras and cinemas had 60hz projectors it'd look way better.
@@urnan4000 But still worse than 24 fps for movies since we’re used to that. Peter Jackson tried it with The Hobbit, Ang Lee with Gemini Man, and both received poor reception for those decisions.

Damn wth, 60fps suit up looked so much better, butter smooth. The motion shots looked weird but that's because of the software used to up the framerates. It would have looked normal if they were originally shot and produced in 60 fps.
Can always tell 60FPS. Moves way too fast for movies and just looks fake.
Hawkeye45 60 is better than 24.
and 24 looks too slow, is because the perception, nothing more.

24Fps seems choppy in the scene but 60Fps seems choppy in transitioning between scenes.
Yeah, because it's not native 60fps.
@@fariszeidan8495 Congrats on telling me the fucking obvious.
@@xudes11 Your original comment was the original “fucking obvious”. Of course it's going to be that way since it isn't native 60FPS.
@@xudes11 Congrats on being the douchebag here.
I feel like if a blur that went across, say the set (it's called motion blur) to a different scene it would have better 60fps transitions. But I think 60fps is safer for me because my PC playes games at 60fps 4K or 120fps 1080p. 24fps hurts my eyes because the stutter.
Love that "Soap Opera" effect.
I think it’s incredible!
60 is an uneven interpolation of 24. It should've been 48 to minimize artifacts and partial frames.
24 to 60 fps works great when the scene is continuous. better approach would be seperating the cuts first, then converting them to 60 and then putting them together. this way there would be less strange jumps from a scene to another.
24 fps: Hey, thats a good movie
60 fps: Hey, thats a good game
I wish all action movies were made in 60fps... its so smooothhh to watch man. love it
OMG! 60 fps is butter smooth.
Watch it in slow motion (0.25x) then you will notice the actual difference
I'd choose to watch avengers infinity war in 60fps in a heartbeat it looks so smooth
DUDE I was not expecting it to be such a huge difference goddamn
24fps will always be magic. For movies and films imo
Yeah. I just saw Avatar in 3D and the constant switch from 24 to 48 drove me crazy, it almost spoiled the whole movie for me.
60 fps only good for games and watching sport
You want 60fps its like watching B movies or behind the scenes
how did you even notice that XD I dont notice a thing@@JapKonoko
@@RapunzelASMR at first I didn't know a thing about fps , when I went to see the movie I tought that the cinema played a different version of the movie that was not compatible with the format we were watching ( this happened one time ) but then I asked around me and no one noticed a thing, only after the movie I learned about fps and that it was a choice to switch to a faster fps for the action scenes.
I like the 1st one better.
The 2nd feels like when you fast forward a tape. The way things move is kinda unreal.
Might look cool on an alien or a vehicle though.
What I think about 60fps is that it makes the video jittery and smoother for the eye to render making it look like a video game rather than a real live movie/video.
But, they still looks so cool😊
it never gets old does it
Now THAT is the correct way to use interpolation
60 fps feels like i’m on the scene and watching it live.
@Paco Loco because it was artificially done, If they could record the source material IRL it would look good
@@adill5160 , I disagree. The majority of viewers have complained about Gemini Man for example - the smooth movement (plus the 3D image as well) makes people feel like they're on a set instead of following a cinematic story.
@@jcp1984again watch the video in .25x you will see the harsh smudging that the AI made on the dense and action scenes
Yeah, it really takes the magic out of the movie and just feels like you're standing on a set
If it looks choppy when it's at 60fps its because films are meant to be recorded at 24fps so that your eye won't be able to see little errors or cuts that they leave in
Finally someone that understands about this..
Yeah. The big hits weren't great in 60fps but they looked good in the 24. However, Stark suiting up looked much better in 60fps, but, it does lose that *mystique* about it, because it looks true to life, and that isn't real.
yeah, but 60fps is amazing
He didnt cut the video so when the jump cuts happened it tried to blend the start and end of the cut and it just kinda
@@aseretto015 smoother doesnt mean better

I have a better PC and Gaming chair.
You can argue FPS all day but artificially rendering the FPS definitely looks terrible.
Play the video at .25 speed and you'll see all of the bizarre morphs that shapes and even transitioning between cuts makes. Awful.
At 0.25 mark Ruffalo sounds wasted
and even so? nobody wants to watch it at 0.25 speed
@@60fpsrecords81 The Canadian Lad: *Hold my patience*
I think that's a bit harsh on the interpolation. The transitions between cuts are terrible, but that's not the fault of the interpolation. Hard to assess the rendering when the scenes cut so frequently.
@@60fpsrecords81 Correct, but your brain picks up the inconsistencies of the artificial FPS even at full speed (or it should, otherwise, no one should be arguing for 60 FPS). Playing it at a quarter speed just helps to highlight what's going wrong.
Honestly, I kind of hate above 30 fps footage. It appears so unnatural like you're in a dream and that it's not even real, the complete opposite of what a movie wants to achieve (i.e. be as immersive as possible and make itself appear real).
Infinity War was maybe the best superhero movie I’ve ever seen, will always have a place in my heart, I’m 40 and hopefully I make it to see the next 50 years of this genre and film technology advancements to see where it goes
videos that weren't filmed in 60fps usually don't look too good with an ai.
Sure it's smoother but that doesn't mean its better
60fps for gaming, 24 fps for movies. Though I still somewhat remember enjoying Halo 3 more in 30fps
120+ fps for gaming
360fps for gaming, not 60fps
@@dvrchweesse1frfdozemkaanai594 Tbh was talking more about the standard right now rather than future wants.
You can have a movie look good at 60 fps there are plenty that do, you just have to artistically make it look good with 60 fps
I remember halo 3 30fps took more skill
Love the fine details that 60fps has always offered but so far I have yet to see anyone make the framerate's movement work well.
And no it's not a your just used to 24fps deal. The depth seems artificial compared to real life.
The depth is the problem. It makes it seem like someone's acting against a green screen even when they're not. It's jarring and just feels more surreal to me.
@@amandas2639 Yes it does.Good call on the green screen effect. It could very well be the norm someday. 70s and 80s shows look off next today's standards.
The algorithm has to make up a lot of frames in quick movements, maybe soon AI will be able to render better 60fps. The alternative is recording movies in actual 48fps, like Avatar TWotW
I love 60fps it make the video smoother and more real
0:48 that hand swipe to deflect the flying dude is *Chef's kiss*

Buttery smooth
This is why I prefer to play games at 25fps. Smoother is not always better.
I would love to see streaming servives give us the option at what fps to watch the movie
this is how all movies/shows should be
Quality speaks
every cut in the 60fps one is weird because the program tries to add more frames to connect one shot to the other (I think, I'm no expert) You should have cut the scene shot by shot and make them go individually through the program so that those transitions aren't weird
Nice!! I think the only thing that kinda hinders the 60FPS render is that whenever they change camera shots in the movie, there's about 3 or 4 frames that look really distorted, my guess is that the tool that adds more frames gets confused when there's 2 different shots next to each other and it tries to "fill in the blank"
Yep you're right. I tried to reduce that by adjusting the settings in the plugin. but you will always see it a little bit.
@@nickgraauwmans One idea I had was that you could replace the frames that have distortion with ones that don't have the 60FPS applied to it from the original footage but that'll probably be a lot more work than intended lol
Or cut between different shots, render them separately and then put them together. A little bit more work for sure 😂
Fixed it ;) in my next comparison you will notice an improvement
@@nickgraauwmans nice!!

24 framws was used in movies to add motion blur. 60 fps is unnatural super buttery like a video game. Not so good
What🤬😡
@@b11ramirezjamesbryant35 60 FRAMES PER SECOND IS FOR SLOMOTION. 24 FRAMES IS THE BEST IT GIVES A NATURAL MOTION BLUR. ALL FILMS USES 24 FPS IN NORMAL SPEED RATE
dude first off all the higher the frame more data we get so in sense higher fps are natural but in this case video wasnt naturally 60 fps but it has been edited and rendered by optical flow thats why it is not that looking real
24 fps is more dramatic in films (in games it sucks obviously because well, cameras are another different thing) it gives more drama, more fantasy, While 60 fps is more hyper realistic, obviously 60 hz is not the best for films. Maybe for extreme action scenes or horror scenes only
@@toxic8637 dude remember in real world we see motion blur, wave your hand and there is a high motion blur. THAT IS WHY films uses 24 fps at a normal motion speed. 60 fps in film is commonly use for slow motion shots because sinse its slowmotion, more framerate is needed.

60fps makes the movie look like a direct to video action movie.
24 fps is always the good way for a movie.
There's some distortion in 60fps video while the scenes are moving fast.
Yea I’m not sure if this was the right scene selection since there’s a lot of movement after Tony’s suit up which makes the frame blending super warpy
it's because it's a convertion from 24 to 60, the best way is native 60hz but it's not the case.
Its because when films fps is changed to a higher rate, the video is automatically distorted to make it seem like its moving faster, watch a video mulan at 24 fps vs 60 fps. If you slow the video down its VERY noticeable
Did anyone notice a weird scene when Iron Man activates the floating solar panels and Banner is at the back talking to himself? I assumed that scene was Banner saying, "where did that come from?" but the Marvel editing team forgotten about it when they applied Iron Man to that scene.

60 fps really only looks good for the close shots of subtle movements. That last lines between hulk and iron man look way better in 60fps but everything else wasn't noticble

60fps is better why do people complain about this. Is something wrong with them, or is something wrong with me?
Well the problem with your opinion is I have to be honest 60fps is good but it just seems to real you know? 60fps looks more a video game rather than an actual real life movie. If you were to watch people move they wouldnt move so smoothly like that. But 24fps on the other hand, your eyes can catch up to the transitions and even though its not that smooth its better for movies because it gives an cinematic look and deep perception.

60 FPS is usually used by gaming UA-camrs, 24 for international movies. But the first time I know the film uses 30 fps.
They should just make both versions available so people can choose which to watch
They tried that with the hobbit and it was a disaster. No one chooses 60fps except to laugh at how bad it looks.
