Thank you Gareth, a very useful guide. This video is a little old but still very relevent; however, I was advised that "Mandatory" is now the preferred option and is used by the majority of riders.
Just the kind of guide I needed... I've done many permanents, but never bothered getting solo rides validated. I will now though... thanks for explaining!
Great video Gareth, what software do you use to work out the longitude and latitude when filling in the entry forms? I've plotted one today and Andy Clarkson says it has issues (which he's sorting for me, top man). I used komoot for the longitude & latitude calculations or do you just leave it blank? Thanks

Good stuff, one thing I'd say is make sure you don't put as many checkpoints as I did in the video. Best to only do them every 50km :)
I was wondering how easy /difficult it was to arrange
Thanks for taking the time 👍🙂
Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks Gareth for explaining. I might give one ago in the coming months :)
Great, it really is quite a simple process.
Thats brilliant thank you Gareth very helpful 👍
Thanks. :)
Do these routes have to be on the roads or can they be on the national cycle network?
