Thank you! Excellent tutorial, I enjoy watching your videos, you explain everything clearly, I learn so much from you. Am looking forward to trying my first sweatshirt.
fabulous video! Can't wait to try the transpore tape technique. Question - do you have problems with the no show mesh shrinking after the garment is washed?
yes, I've had no-show mesh shrink on me. I think some brands are better than others. I talk a little about that in this video at 5:26 minutes ua-cam.com/video/nSGVF4HHtNg/v-deo.html There was some no-show mesh not seen on camera that did the same thing. And you can use other tapes for holding your hoop in place, I made a video comparing all the different tapes if you want to find a tape for your needs. (●'◡'●)
Any water soluble film works fine as a topper. I typically use a heat soluble film from world widener because it won't degrade from humidity over time. But any of the soluble films work just fine.
Please tell me what white pen you are using? I've bought several that are not easy to remove once you've embroidered design. Chalk sometimes leaves a ghost line, usually washes out. But I don't always want to wash it after I finish design because it's a gift.
@mymyhart1701 I was probably using a Clover Chaco liner. It brushes out easily for me. But the knock-off versions on Amazon do NOT come out easily so the brand makes a big difference. If you don't want to wash out your markings, you might try target stickers like the ones dime® sells (affiliate link) www.shop.dzgns.com/products/target-sticker-pack-250-roll?p=unbkFbQT0 I'm going to try those soon.
@@BallyhooCreations Thank you. I have the DIME stickers and use them often. Sometimes I just need a line though. Will keep watching your channel. Thanks again.
@dawnquintero351 I almost always use the heat-soluble topper from World Weidner. Sulky sells a similar heat-away film. But any clear water-soluble topper film would work just as well. I prefer the heat soluble because I stitch on a lot of fur and it keeps the fur under the stitches even after washing.
looks like you found the answer in my stabilizer video, but in case anybody else is wondering - fusible stabilizer is just like regular cut-away or tear-away except you fuse it to the back of your project so it makes hooping a little easier but removal (cutting away) a little harder.
I love that Wicked design so I signed up for a free trial at Creative Fabrica and can't find it to save my life...can you possibly link to the actual design?
I went to my CF downloads and that Wicked design is now gone! I couldn't find it through a google search either. I suppose the digitizer pulled their design from creative Fabrica. And nothing in their PDF file identifies the digitizer either. Sorry, looks like that one is gone. ( ఠ ͟ʖ ఠ)
@@BallyhooCreations thanks for looking for me! I think I found the same one on Etsy so maybe they moved it over there. Appreciate you looking and responding. Great video too!
I get the cloud cover from Threadart and I'll add their link to the descriptions... www.threadart.com/collections/cloud-cover-stitch but you can find similar products like Sulky Tender Touch or OESD Gentle Touch. Most stabilizer brands have their own version of backing you fuse to the back and cover stitches after embroidery. (●'◡'●)
Like you a don’t embroider a great number of garments. And those are t-shirts rather than sweatshirts. I use a fusible no-show mesh & 2 layers of wash-away. As my designs are relatively simple using topper or not has no effect. I have the large Echidna hooping station which is great & the DIME snap hoops in 2 sizes. The thing I’ve struggled with the most is the small size of the t-shirts: on the multi-needle the neck opening doesn’t accommodate the travel of the hoop very well. How do others cope with this?
Hi Vicki! If the design is large and the tubular arm of the multi-needle is stretching out the neck, then insert the tubular arm through the bottom of the shirt and rotate the design 180 degrees. That should give it more room to move. Thanks for sharing about your Echidna station working with the DIME magnetic hoops. That's good to know! And that's a good tip to use 1 layer of mesh combined with some wash-away to keep the t-shirt stable and (I assume) avoid puckering.
I love all your videos and how professionally they’re done. Not to mention your sense of humor! Thanks for informing and entertaining all of us!
OMG...reversing the monster hoop with bracket on top - mind blowing. Will definitely do this.
I know! It was not obvious to me either but the magnet works on either side. It was in one of the dime livestreams.

Thanks for watching, and I hope you love your new and *improved* sweatshirt. (★‿★)

I like the fusible method. Because a lot of times I think I'm wasting stabilizer.
Thanks for another great video Luci. What topper do you recommend ?

I have permanent iron on adhesive stabilizer. What is that used for?
