Agreed, my uncle had an Orkney back in the Netherlands to fish at night, it was a lovely little boat and I am fairly sure he didn't pay more than a tenth of the price this new one costs. That was years and years ago though, I understand things have gone up in price, but this seems very steep...
A large part is driven by the fact that these things aren't built by the thousands, so they need to bring in their revenue over not a lot of units. That said, US$228,000 is a lot of money and would take a 30 year loan with 20% down to pull off (not accounting for slip fees, insurance, fuel....)
Love these little short videos about boats that seem attainable to the average person. BUT I still love the day dreams I get for the big boats too. Thanks!
The first time since been subscribed for over 2 years where I’ve seen a boat which I’d immediately sell. For that price tag you would get a much better boat that’s older for that money. Still always cool to watch
better boat? Orkney are one of the best made boats on earth. Azimut etc cant even get their GRP to not delaminate within a decade. This would easily get to places much larger boats cant, thats why its expensive because its a tough boat not a show off boat.
"Don`t mend what is not broken" they say. And rightly so, the reason for a boat like this is that it caters to all ones needs. This type of boat works very well in our Baltic waters and cold climate, only a decent heater needed besides the standard stuff. Could absolutely see myself at the helm of this one. And enjoying every minute. Nice!
Same for us on the Great Lakes where this boat would be perfect as opposed to the current bow rider trend which would limit boating here to about three months.
Hi Nick, This is a amusing smaller yacht to see on your channel but still its is fun on the water with a big cockpit a cozy wheel house and it even there is a place for 2 people to sleep with a wet head great and for a affordable price a Great Show Nick yes Ilike to see more of this ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Beautiful little boat with all you need for a long weekend out! Love practical propper boats like these. If you can find a good pre-owned one, price will be fine, as well. Thank you for the tour, Nick!
I’m a fan of all types of boats Nick. Gives a consumer many options. I was on a bayliner pilothouse maybe 25 to 27 feet not sure few years ago for fishing. One more thing Nick the gentleman in you was displayed early in the video . as an American I would’ve told those ladies to move it along quicker, I’m filming.
Nick great job as always would love to see more small boats i get that superyachts bring more views so you serve content people watch the most but now and then its nice when you sprinkle some treats like this one have great day sir
Definitely more of these, would of liked a bit longer and include some shots of the twenty seven, bit fatigued by all the overly luxurious, impossibly expensive yachts. Thanks.
Love these kind of boats just as much as the bigger stuff Nick. And yes, definately throw a short video in here and there for those quick coffee breaks!
Pleased to see some lower budget boats. This boat looked so good to start but I feel missed the target for me but a refreshing change nun the less. Keep up the good work, cheers Bob.
The 27 is the one for me. Perfect tour of a magic little boat. They're great value when you consider the high quality build, low running costs and long life. This will still be in the water decades after rivals are being broken up for scrap and recycling. More please!
I could never afford even this boat, because I have a shit life and a shit job, but I live the dream through your videos, and for that I thank you very much Nick. It's truly a wonderful trip with every one of your videos.
Great video Nick. THANK YOU !!!! Yes, please keep bringing variety and choice to the channel. It make it more interesting and engaging. I read the comments about the price and, I have to admit that I agree, £180k is a lot of money. At that price range there are many alternatives. (Axopar, Saxdor, Beneteau, etc). I am not sure I would put the Orkney 25 in my Top 5.
Nice video, thanks Nick. Personally I like to see you feature the smaller boats, as you used to do of course. I well understand that it's the superyachts with a £5M+ price tag that have carried you up to 0.5M subscribers, but for small-scale boat owners like me, it's useful to see the videos and hear your expert comments on boats at the Orkney's price point. My only quibble incidentally about your review of the Orkney is that you could have emphasised more the extraordinarily high build quality of the hull, deck and cabin mouldings. The difference is really noticeable when you compare it with a Merry Fisher or something.
I've always loved the Orkney range, my friends and I used to go down to Caley marina and drool over them. I'd love to see you do a review on an extreme boat as they have a couple for sale at the moment. The 745 game king is fully loaded and there is only really reviews from N.Z. Keep up the good work pal.👍🏴
Great walk around as always. Definitely a good idea to show more small boats, especially those with the amenities that this boat offers. Great channel by the way. I subscribed after watching only 2 videos. Some of the boats are dreams, and some reality, but there is nothing wrong with a good nautical daydream. Hard work and the lottery always helps.
Great little boat and grand tour as always. I always wonder who’d spend that kind of money on a relatively small boat. I’d use the budget for a second hand bigger one, or an older Orkney with change for fuel, berthing etc. When are you doing some more second hand tours for us mortals?! 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Really nice boat and tour, as always, Nick! All the best to you. Your channel is screaming ahead and it is because of your hard work, dedication and exquisite detail shown in each of your very professional tours.
Well in a perfect world I would love a little boat like that preferably in bigger larger 27’ version for excursions along the coast. I wonder if it could be used with twin outboards.
Charming little boat! While it's nice to see the lifestyles of the rich & famous yachts, I find I really prefer learning about little weekenders like this.
Nick! As the most we usually see of you, is your hand with your watch. I have noticed that you have a couple of watches and it would be nice to hear/see what they are. Maybe a watchtour?😉 thank you for bringing summer vibes!
Have you changed the price in the title? I'm sure it was £230,000!! PS Always look forward to your video's, big yachts and small boats. Best walk through tours on YT.
looks like a fun boat, but if i was spending that kind of debt, it would be something second hand that i could spend a week or 2 on without wanting to drown the husband lol. Thanks for the great video Nick.
Sadly, I think you'd get a much bigger bang for £230k with an American pocket cruiser. Not sure how & why these are so pricey. The technical spaces all looked unimaginative with DIY 'marina chandlery' battery boxes etc. 🇬🇧
Great video. Are there particular benefits to an outboard apart from space? Could an outboard be more economical or cheaper to service/replace that an inboard, or does it use less fuel during running? Also, is it much noisier?
Its not like going out a day on the water with more than six people as than all seats are occupied. And one isn't sitting cosy together. Maybe more for going for fishing?
Whilst i couldn't justify it's price, i love your small boat tours. Good job and please do more of these if possible.
Yup inflation strike hard! 1/4 million$ for small, not super luxurious boat...
Agreed, my uncle had an Orkney back in the Netherlands to fish at night, it was a lovely little boat and I am fairly sure he didn't pay more than a tenth of the price this new one costs. That was years and years ago though, I understand things have gone up in price, but this seems very steep...

Seriously, for the price you can find decent liveaboards.
More of these sub 30 footers would be good. They make up the largest percentage of what the 'average' person can possibly hope to own.
Love these little short videos about boats that seem attainable to the average person. BUT I still love the day dreams I get for the big boats too. Thanks!
I like the small boat tours over the large ones.
Yes, Sir Nick, we would love to see more like this one! Thank you! Cheers!
Love the open plan looks more spacious than what it is
The first time since been subscribed for over 2 years where I’ve seen a boat which I’d immediately sell. For that price tag you would get a much better boat that’s older for that money. Still always cool to watch

It's a cutty! 😍 It's always fun to see how they use the space in such a small boat. Nice engineering.

Hi , a very good sea going boat , fisher people love them . All ways good when the sea kicks up , nice one NICK .👍
Great to see a smaller boat review, and yes please can we have some more.
A very nice little boat, great for a day/weekend. Nice tour Nick thank you.

Love seeing the "little" boats
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
That's was cool nick, a great little fun boat, it would be interested to see a video of the 27 version too, great video nick thank you 👍🛥🚤⛵️🛟⚓️
Nice little weekender. Thanks for bringing it to our attention Nick.
No problem 👍
Also, just took a look at a real estate website, you can get a pretty decent cottage in the Orkneys for that price.
Beautiful little boat with all you need for a long weekend out! Love practical propper boats like these. If you can find a good pre-owned one, price will be fine, as well. Thank you for the tour, Nick!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Yes Nick! We like seeing smaller boats.
Perfect for a cruise, refreshing to see a small boat tour after so long!
Nice three season boat.
Week day evening sit around. Good day ctruiser. Nice overnighter. And a clever week long explorere.
Thanks for thr tour, Nick.
My pleasure!
Interesting little ship. I'd love to see the 27, it sounds like the way to go.
Love it! By all means more of these smaller, much more affordable (to me) boats. Thanks!

Nice little runabout, a campervan on water. Thanks again Nick.
No problem 👍
I love this! I'd definitely enjoy more tours of little boats like this. You could even tour their entire range in a 15-20 minute video!
Great looking little boat...Love it!
Definitely more of these, would of liked a bit longer and include some shots of the twenty seven, bit fatigued by all the overly luxurious, impossibly expensive yachts. Thanks.
Very cute piece of kit. Nice and compact to navigate the smaller waterways. Thank you! 🍷
Glad you like it!
Nice boat, not a lot of frills, but a great little runaround day cruiser.
Love these kind of boats just as much as the bigger stuff Nick. And yes, definately throw a short video in here and there for those quick coffee breaks!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Lovely little boat if you lived in Orkney but i think you would definitely have the biminys on most of the time as it’s not to warm up that way 😅👍👍👍
I do like this one. I think the 27 would be almost perfect for my needs.
yes , would love to see 27
Nick, smart-looking little boat. Very practical.
Thanks for the upload another great tour! :) It's a nice boat. Perhaps it's because it's small that the price just seems an obscene amount of money.
Pleased to see some lower budget boats. This boat looked so good to start but I feel missed the target for me but a refreshing change nun the less. Keep up the good work, cheers Bob.

I"m glad that you enjoy them 🙂
Parents used to have an Orkney when I was a kid on the Isle of Arran good times 👍.
Well done Nick, more small boats please and preferably more used sub £100k please.
Enjoyed the tour of smaller boats as well as the yachts.
Great video Nick. THANK YOU !!!!

The very boatyest of boats. Normally brought into harbour by Cap'tn Boaty McBoatFace . It was nice to see this on the channel. Thanks Nick
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Very cool boat. Interested in see the 27 version.
Voicing my concerns of the Price like many others. Yes please more like this will be welcomed

Welcome aboard! 🙂
yes. I like these small boat tours. So more would be good. thanks Nick
Small yacht, small fortune 😁It's a nice hornest boat though, and thanks for the tour 😊
Thanks for watching!
Nice one Nick. Fantastic to see a smaller boat review. I am considering a Merry Fisher 795. Would be great to see one get the Aquaholic treatment 😊
@@sharonbraselton3135Hi. Thanks for your reply. Out of interest, is your comment based on experience?
I guess not 🤷♂️
Great little boat and grand tour as always.

Thanks so much!
She's a tidy little boat. The inboard engine appeals more.
Given how blue that boat already is, it seems like it's just screaming to become Smugglers Blues III
Nice boat
More sub 30 boats please! Really enjoyed this Nick!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Cracking little boat. Thanks Nick.
My pleasure!
what a great little boat.
Glade to see them finally make the channel.
Nice little boat. The multi-million fantasy boats are nice, but more of these that us normal everyday folks could find our way into would be awesome.
Proper micro-ship stuff right there! 😊 Thanks for the tour!
Our pleasure!
Absolutely beautiful! A little bit expensive but beautiful!!! As always great job done Nick!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much!
Please do more of these sub35-foot boats, thanks.
Interesting storage place for the dining table. 😄❤️
A nice little boat!
Great video. Love to see a video on the smallest
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
cool little boat
I like the larger saloon model, I however could move on board this little tug happily, I'd like an outboard diesel...
Nice little boat 👍 hope you’re keeping well
Thanks, you too!
Well in a perfect world I would love a little boat like that preferably in bigger larger 27’ version for excursions along the coast. I wonder if it could be used with twin outboards.
Great to have this variety. The 27 sounds interesting.
Charming little boat! While it's nice to see the lifestyles of the rich & famous yachts, I find I really prefer learning about little weekenders like this.
Lovely small boat nick ⛵️🚤🛥⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Love it! Thanks for the tour. 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
It's been awhile since you've had one of these on. Great boats
Good looking boat
The smaller boats interest me more than the mega-yachts because they're less unaffordable
I like that expression! 😄
More small boats please
Nick! As the most we usually see of you, is your hand with your watch. I have noticed that you have a couple of watches and it would be nice to hear/see what they are. Maybe a watchtour?😉 thank you for bringing summer vibes!
You're very welcome!
Have you changed the price in the title? I'm sure it was £230,000!!
PS
Always look forward to your video's, big yachts and small boats.
Best walk through tours on YT.
£230K was the price of this very high spec example. People seemed to be a bit upset about it though, so I changed it for the base price. 🙂
Happy weekend nick
You too!
looks like a fun boat, but if i was spending that kind of debt, it would be something second hand that i could spend a week or 2 on without wanting to drown the husband lol. Thanks for the great video Nick.
Love you nick not to sure about the cost of this boat
Nice small boat.
A good little weekend boat. 27
knots isn't too shabby either. Does it have heating?
It certainly can do
Sadly, I think you'd get a much bigger bang for £230k with an American pocket cruiser. Not sure how & why these are so pricey. The technical spaces all looked unimaginative with DIY 'marina chandlery' battery boxes etc. 🇬🇧
Functional boat! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍sheesh autocorrect.. boost lol
Thanks for watching! 😃
@@AQUAHOLIC 👍👍
Good afternoon Nick
Good afternoon Michael.
Anything floats is worthy of a tour, I’ll show ya my kayak.
I’m sorry quarter of a million pounds for a 25 foot Orkney has the world gone mad
I’m looking at 180,000 pounds. Still a lot of money for a 25 foot single engine outboard weekender.
Costs more than my house here in France, and it's quite a nice house.
Great video. Are there particular benefits to an outboard apart from space? Could an outboard be more economical or cheaper to service/replace that an inboard, or does it use less fuel during running? Also, is it much noisier?
Not sure I could eat my food at a table which I knew was stored next to the bog.
At that price i can’t see the order book filling up that fast😂
a complete tour!
Its not like going out a day on the water with more than six people as than all seats are occupied. And one isn't sitting cosy together. Maybe more for going for fishing?
Nice little boat, looks well built but overpriced. More of these videos though Nick!
