Thanks for taking us along. Nick, you and David (Cruising the Cut) do such a superior job at video and narration that you both should give lessons. The videos that others post just do not compare!
Great video Nick. Thanks for showing the beautiful views of River Dart and can't wait to see Smuggler's Blues 2, fully maintain and serviced for 2025 boating adventure.
For the end of the season, Nick. Smugglers is looking really clean and tidy. Surprised you didn't have a last dip of the year while you were there !!!🥶 Glad you pointed out the Fleming! The Dart is just fabulous....my favourite place to relax.
Love it, come on Maggie ❤. I regularly take my boat out solo, just for time out. Hook a buoy, a bacon buttie, chill and home, makes the week at work less painful 😅
The redevelopment is coming along at a rate of knots Nick, looking forward to the hotel opening later this year. Thank you for another great educational video and a last cruise up the Dart for this season. Won't be long till the new one, have a good weekend !
Lovely last meander up the river then down to the business of making Smuggler's Blues 2 ship shape. Looking forward to the new season of trips. Cheers Nick😊👍
Stunning day for a little poodle along the river sightseeing. The perfect way to spend an afternoon in my world. 👍👍 Fingers crossed there’s no nasty surprises during the services. 🤞🤞
I was a bit concerned as the opening sequence was reminiscent of the opening for The Sopranos!! A good season behind you with lots of fun and shared experiences thanks Nick
Just what I need a alcoholic boat video with smugglers blue2 Thank you nick just wondering in your next video about the servicing and different filters you change while you’re in the winter period I don’t know if I’m the only one who’d find that interesting keep up the magnificent work Tristan
Hi Nick, Nice to see the Smugglers Blues 2 back on your channel for a last run before its taken out of the water the antifloul did a good job i see and where it was not to see the differences nice stored for the cold winter I'm curious what will be the new upgrades on the Smugglers for next season Thanks Nick great show ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hi Nick. Nice video. Looked like a nice relaxing lunch on the river. Smugglers Blues Two is just such a nice size to single hand. What an investment owning a marina must be? I look at all the kit they’ve got and it blows my mind how much it all must cost.
Don't fancy the Sunseeker for sale Nick???? Or keep your Lady Smugglers Blue? Oh goodness the hotel, shops and cafe it's really coming on. But it's in a lovely place on the Dart. Beautiful even the leafless trees still look lovely. You make it look easy picking up the buoy, and then peace and tranquility and lunch. Thanks for the trip Nick. Ps: Any new gizmos for Lady SB this year?
A little out of my league, both to buy and to run singlehanded. I need a rich (and agile) widow or divorcee..! 😄 Nothing major, a couple of small things.
Love a "my boat" video, although this is the "worst" one of the year as it's the end of the season! Already can't wait for the re-launch video. Great to see the Dart on a non-summer day though, it's still so beautiful in the sunshine. Anti-foul looks good, although do you find that this late in the year the winter cold has killed off a lot of the weed? A boat neighbouring mine often gets somewhat beardy in July/August but it calms down again by December
The name of your boat appearing on your Garmin display upon startup is a nice touch. I’m guessing it’s pretty easy to update settings to do that, but never thought about it until I saw it on your boat. Also I feel like you should do a collaboration with Harry Dwyer, I’m assuming you’ve heard of him. Maybe you could do a leg with him on Goodwin?
I think he's finished his trip. You can get the Garmin to display an image, so the guys that set it up created that image of the name, which is indeed a nice touch. 🙂
The end of another season, so time to plan next season! Never say never. 10-15 years ago, did you think you would be going to boat shows, filming boat tours, interviewing owners, using your own boat and making an ok living doing so? I thought not 😉
Wow .. I mean just WOW ... on a bloody freezing cold January day ..whats better than that .. and .. one handed too ..just for us ..bless ya .. I bet you could peel and orange in ya pocket mate 😁👍🏴
Good Morning NICK Nice little yacht/boat cruiser . Definitely would do for a weekend. Could you use the boat to do the canal systems or is she to big a boat for the canals? I was surprised to see you had a boat as I thought you wouldn't have had anytime to enjoy one as you seem busy enough doing your Yacht tours on You Tube. That Agatha Christie Mansion was quite the estate. I googled it after you showed it on this video. The marina where you had docked and the Boat Yard where you had her taken out of the water both look like excellent locations. I hope you get the work done over the winter months before splashing back in. Cheers
"Smugglers Blues" more like "Starmers Blues"! My living room temperature is 11C and it's 1400hrs, can't afford to heat it you see. Still it was nice to get out of reality and into panto land!
Great footage. Looks like an old classic Birchwood 29 next to you. Must be early 80s? I guess going up river the engine gets a good freshwater flush too 😎
Thanks for taki g us out to lunch on board smugglers great to spend time on board again hopefully more smugglers this year are you going to film Dreams coming out the water ps how peacefully was that lunch i was just sat with my coffee and biscuits thinking this is bliss cheers Nick
Minimal I'm afraid. I just did them during Covid when I couldn't travel. They were interesting, but never very popular. If something really spectacular was offered I'd probably do it.
Hi Nick is that the river dart you were going up it is so beautiful your vlogs are great and when you are with your mate hope can do another weekend away 👌👍
You certainly can add sling point markers if you wish or if there are areas to avoid (a boat with fin stabilisers for example, or perhaps a transducer that sticks out). But otherwise it is indeed down to the hoist operators.
Has there been any noticeable difference in the condition of the hull when when it's been brought out for winter from being berthed in the Dart compared to when you kept it in Torquay Harbour?
Nicks seasonal maintenance ritual goes off without a hitch. SB 2 is well cared for to say the least. All the best for the 2025 boating season Thanks for the tour Nick
Excellent Nick. Do you still have to pay for the mooring berth at the marina while S B is out of the water? Also how much does winter storage and services add to the annual boating costs? Great video 😊
Very interesting, I bet that’s an expensive cost every year or is it just expensive for superyachts (every 5 years I think or is it 10 ?) ? Would you get less muck if it was used more or the opposite ? After antifouling, would waxing it help or is that what antifouling is ?
Can you not help yourself Nick....going up/down river and spotting make/model of boats....you see and putting them on a scale ...out of reach they are...😂. Me too
Thanks for taking us along.
Nick, you and David (Cruising the Cut) do such a superior job at video and narration that you both should give lessons. The videos that others post just do not compare!

Hi Nick, that time of year again, she looks well. Thank you for taking us along.
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Another satisfying day for Smugglers Blues 2 and Maggie! 🎉 looking forward to next season!
They are a very competant yard from watching this, just what you want for your pride and joy.
That has come round so quick. It looks great. Looking forward to seeing it all done. Great vlog

Thanks, you too! 🙂
Lovely to see SB2 on the water early in the new year! And you too! Cannot wait for Spring to see you on the water for the coming season!
Absolutely! Roll on summer!
Well done Nick, a very pleasant way watching your adventure and taking my lunch, now for a siesta!!!!
Enjoy! 😄
Have always loved the trips up the river. More trips would be nice for our own peace and relaxation to enjoy ✌🏻😎 🏴☠️ Nice one Nick.
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂

A beautiful day, on a beautiful river. Pottering along on Smugglers Blues, with my favourite UA-camr. What’s not to like? Happy days. Cheers Nick. 👍
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! 🙂
Watching your videos has given me an interest to get out on the water , so I’ve bought a kayak. Thank you
Awesome!! If you're floating, you're boating! 😃
Lovely last meander up the river then down to the business of making Smuggler's Blues 2 ship shape. Looking forward to the new season of trips. Cheers Nick😊👍

Hi Nick!! I really enjoy this type of videos from you. I like to see what boat life is really like.
Take care,

Thanks, Nick. Your propeller looked free from marine life.
It sure did!
Planning a trip to your boat area in the spring, will say hi if i see you. As always nick great video, always a pleasure to watch.👏👍🇬🇧 UK
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
You need to start thinking about heading south for the winter. Year 'round boating!
If only I had the time and the money! 😄
Looking forward to the new season
Me too!

All I need to know about boating!! Thank you...
You're welcome! Lots more 'how to' videos on the channel 🙂
The Dart is looking stunning even in Winter.
What a spot nick ,perfect on a sunny winters day crowds all gone beautiful views.
It sure was pleasant! 🙂
Nice bit of tying off...... this year how about a cruise to the East past my home of Sidmouth along the Jurassic coast to West Bay and back...
We have taken the boats to Lyme Regis and back (there's a video, inevitably, on the channel somewhere) so that's entirely possible.
Don't fancy the Sunseeker for sale Nick???? Or keep your Lady Smugglers Blue?

Never say never Nick. Your numbers might come up, or in your case maybe we should say " your boat might come in " lol.

You're not wrong! 😄
Happy Friday nick 🎉
Happy Friday! 😃
Next season nick, maybe you could do a competition or raffle,& the winner gets a day out with you on smugglers,,I for one would love that😊
Good video nick 🛥🚤⛵️👍👍👍👏👏
Thanks JQ 👍
so wat upgrades are you doing this winter, grate vlog, i love seeing the vlogs on your boat
Not much this year, but a couple of things inevitably
Interesting and informative. I can almost forgive him for naming a rucksack and having a clean car in winter.

It would go on a canal, and indeed has done, Google 'Exeter Ship Canal AQUAHOLIC' 🙂
Thought you might have picked up one of those doohikies that fit on a boathook for getting lines on buoys by now Nick.
That would be cheating! (Great word though..!) 😄

@AQUAHOLIC awww that's a shame may be you get to film it going back in 🤞
new car Nick? Boat looked really clean under the water line
Another car... 😳
The bottom of hull looks really clean, when was she last out of the water? You should try Hull Shield transponders.
Been in since March, with a quick lift and scrub mid season
Hey Nick, what’s the chances of you doing Some more videos of beautiful riverside homes for sale again

It sure is! Lovely river.
Looking good nick nice to see classic birchwoid next to you think it was a 29?
That sounds about right
That seems to have come round fast 😟
Faster every year!
nothing like a clean bottom, hey?
Damn right! 😳
The dehumidifier and heater were operating while you were not on the boat? Shore power costs?
Yes. Minimal, and certainly a lot less than re-upholstering a mouldy interior! (Yes, I've seen it get that bad, fortunately not on my own boat).
Question Nick. Are there marked balance points on the boat for lifting, or is it down to the experience of the lift operator, please?
You certainly can add sling point markers if you wish or if there are areas to avoid (a boat with fin stabilisers for example, or perhaps a transducer that sticks out). But otherwise it is indeed down to the hoist operators.

Hi Nick, Great video as per usual! Spotted your fancy fenders as you arrived to your boat, you wouldn't happen to know where you can get them from ? 😀
Yes! www.coastmarineservices.co.uk/
Has there been any noticeable difference in the condition of the hull when when it's been brought out for winter from being berthed in the Dart compared to when you kept it in Torquay Harbour?
Not especially, I think it's slightly better kept here which I ascribe to the tide running up and down past it.
Nicks seasonal maintenance ritual goes off without a hitch. SB 2 is well cared for to say the least. All the best for the 2025 boating season
Thanks for the tour Nick
You're very welcome! 😃
What happened to the convertible?
It's in the garage at home. 🙂
Excellent Nick. Do you still have to pay for the mooring berth at the marina while S B is out of the water? Also how much does winter storage and services add to the annual boating costs? Great video 😊
Yes, the berth is 12 months round, but includes a few weeks ashore for free. Search for 'AQUAHOLIC boat cost' for a full breakdown of costs. 🙂
Very interesting, I bet that’s an expensive cost every year or is it just expensive for superyachts (every 5 years I think or is it 10 ?) ?
Would you get less muck if it was used more or the opposite ?
After antifouling, would waxing it help or is that what antifouling is ?
All boats are expensive, it's just how expensive that varies..! 😣
16:33. This is the life.
Nick, how many boats can share a river swing bouy mooring at once and are there any 'free' swing moorings
There are visitor buoys in some places, that's what I picked up. Sometimes you have to raft (share) on them if it is busy.
Lucky you
Yup 🙂
All great .
Just a terrible thought ......what if they drop your boat ?
Insurance ? Liability ?
You changed the car? Didn't you have a sporty one?
I still do 🙂
New car Nick?
Another car... 😳
Good job Nick, was that no wake cruising?❤️⚓️
You had a nice clean bottom, what antifouling are you using?
I don't actually know... 😳 Dave from Coast Marine deals with all the service work.
Hi Nick, is there a speed(?) limit in that part of the river.
Yes, whole river is six knots.
Can you not help yourself Nick....going up/down river and spotting make/model of boats....you see and putting them on a scale ...out of reach they are...😂. Me too
Absolutely..! 😄

Great video Nick, what happened to your beautiful SL 400?
I’ve missed a few vids, did Nick get rid of the SL400?
No he didn't... 😳
