It is holding up really well! I've driven in high winds and at highway speeds for a long time and the middle of the wing barely moves. I haven't noticed any whistling.
Hey man, so i basically just drilled small pilot holes first just to double check my measurements and then I used the 9mm drill bit. If you just circle the bit in the hole it kinda bores it out enough. Just make sure to seal off the hole with like some silicon or something to prevent any water from getting in.
always a brave man to go drilling into his vehicle. I would suggest making sure you paint inside those holes you drilled and add some silicone to prevent rust. keep it up!
How did the wing stay on the trunk before tightening the screws by having to lift up the trunk. Like how did it stay on the trunk without tightening screws first?
Hey thanks for watching. The template has 9mm as the cutout size, which is a 23/64 inch bit. I might go down a size though to 8mm to allow for some tolerance in your drilling. And yes I believe there were two longer bolts.
oh for real? yeah mine came with all the hardware... if you got the same one as me from subispeed then it should be somewhere in the box. They are pretty standard bolts though so im sure if you look up the size you could just get some at the store.
I got it from Subispeed. www.subispeed.com/2015-subaru-wrx/exterior/spoilers-wings/olm-sti-style-paint-matched-spoiler-2015-wrx-2015-sti#.WW6-ydPyvzI The paint match is good.
I just installed a OEM STI wing to my Premium Wrx ... please keep this in mind YOUR STOCK SPOILER WILL LEAVE FIVE 3/8" sized holes in your trunk.. make sure when you budget this build you add the welding and the paint .. for me was 650$ for the OEM STI wing painted... and 800 to have the old one removed.. holes patched, repainted, and reinstalled. ( Im in California )
Nice job man! I just did this myself and also have a vid for it. Def not that fun. Glad to see that your stuff all lined up well. Keep it up, I am now subscribed!
That's where I'm at too. I got a 2015 WRX and the car like just needs that wing. Not just any wing but the factory wing and the wrx's don't come with them. I keep reading of people saying that if your car is not an STi then don't put the wing on. I am literally just going to say screw what other people think and do it...
Christopher Dai same here bro! I want a sti wing on my 2018 wrx but I still confused about that because someone said wrx cannot get Sti wing when you driving on freeway or high speed! Do you have any recommendations?
I ordered one painted in black Celia but just ordered my B1U paint and have a paint gun how should I go at it?
Hey do you have a copy of the template you used by any chance?
unfortunately I do not anymore
did you end up finding a template??
im about to install mine but have no template
I am about to have my seibon carbon fiber wing installed. Did you find any other issues after your installation?
Hows the wing holding up, can you notice any whistling or noise while driving on the freeway?
nice vid btw

Wish the stock wing would come out without leaving holes in the trunk!
Like heavy clips
Cons of being a ricer
this is where it hits.
Hey man, what size drill bit did you use for the final bore? Start with 9mm and finish with? (i have the subispeed spoiler too) Ty

What drill bit did you use for the small one and the final one because I’m having trouble find a 9mm drill bit best I found was a 8.7 mm
Do you have the website were you purchased the wing ? For you WRX?

Yeah I put some silicone on all the openings so it should be fine.
So im ordering an sti wing through subaru but it doesnt come painted only black how did you get yours blue?
This isn't the factory wing from Subaru. I got a replica that came painted blue. You would probably have to go to a shop to get it color matched.
Stephen Samuelsen thanks is there a website you could send me a link to for the one you ordered so i can price compare

The perimeter of the bottom of the wing is lined with adhesive strip, so it stays put while you are tightening the bolts.
Stephen Samuelsen ty
could you please scan your template and send it to me by mail, since I have the spoiler but not the template and did not find it in any store, thanks
No don’t be a ricer
Bro do u have an Instagram or more pics of the sti wing and the stock lip in black? I'm thinking of plastic dipping my stock one to add contrast
Kavin Intrada hey man so my Instagram is instagram.com/four11supplyco/
What did you do about it making contact with the lip spoiler?
The factory lip shouldn't touch
Is there a little lift from the stock spoiler ?
In this crazy world in which we live; you should blur your vehicle license plate for your own safety.
Hey I was wondering what drill bit size you used and did yours come with 2 longer bolts?

@@StephenSamuelsen thank you. And did you use the 2 longer bolts in the front or back?
@@Kevin_kim7777 Unfortunately I do not remember, and I do not have the WRX anymore otherwise I would check.
Where did you get the hardware to fasten it to the trunk? Mine didn't come with any at all

Where did you purchase your spoiler from?
How's it hold up in the rain?
Where did you order it bro can you give the link? Thanks
I got it from Subispeed.

LMFAO subiespeed makes a paint matched cover for the holes for $140 and the oem wing for me is $535 plus only $225 for paint. u got ripped off
How did you go about installing the OEM STI wing? OEMs don't come with a template and need 6 holes drilled each side?
Finally did it to my 20 wrx
where can i buy a wing for my 21 wrx ?
@yt_abj7239 if u can oem off subiespeed kinda pricey tho. There are also options on ebay and amazon
Great vid bro
where can i find the pattern
You can sand it down what I'm doing same problem

Thanks man!
Does the wing shake when you drive at high speeds ?
the middle of the wing vibrates a tiny bit, but the rest is solid.
I want the sti wing on my 2019 wrx but I feel I would be a laughingstock lol these cars look much better with the wing
lol yeah I hear ya. I was very hesitant to buy the wing, but honestly the car just looks so much better so I am very glad I got one.
@@StephenSamuelsen nice. I was thinking of getting it but taking off the badges but I think that would make it worse lol

What better way to make a shitty car even dumber.
NICE STI... -_-, get some new rims.
So freaking rice lol 🍚
Did you swap the torsion bars?
I did not. Honestly I think im just going to see how these hold up. If they fail then ill get the STI ones.
