Thanks, super helpful. I have an F-150 Econoline passenger van from 1990 wasn't exactly like this but this video was really helpful. One of the only ones that explains what to do from start to finish.
I can't wait to see that van all complete in action out camping with the TW on the back . I really love those Winnebago vans they have out now but I also have like $4 lol
no problem! yeah the seats are not too bad, really helps removing them if your doing anything too serious to the engine or else your putting your body in horrible positions for it's health
Like the space heater idea. My 1991 Nissan hardbody is cold natured as it can be and with a new thermostat water pump radiator hoses it still takes what feels like forever to warm up. Been thinking block heaters but putting a small space heater on the passenger side floorboard to heat it up in the cold winter but been on the fence about it. Worried it my burn my old truck down.
for sure, I love having it on when i'm in there working until I get my diesel parking heater installed. wow that's strange. is it the engine having trouble heating up or just the heater? could be a heater valve issue maybe. it's strange how some vehicles heat up super fast. my 4runner is blowing warm air in like 1-2 minutes even when it's freezing outside. my old saab took forever to get warm. this van takes a while to heat up and the coolant temp starts to drop if I turn the heater on and just idling, I think it's a thermostat because the coolant temp will drop when going down the mountain and not on the throttle. also the rear heater system is probably robbing a lot of the heat but ill be deleting that soon.
@@4WheelKid my old truck just take a long time to warm the iron block and iron head at a idle but once I'm driving for about 10 minutes from cold it putting out heat and the temp gauge is starting to move otherwise it's slow to heat up idling. My 2002 BMW z3 M roadster heat up in minutes but it is also 11 years newer lol
not super familiar with those engines but I looked it up and they seem really good. not going to have much power or torque though. but probably better gas mileage
I had an exhaust leak on my Express 3500 and it was always coming through the seal around the engine cover. I tried to use extra insulation and stuff, but it never really worked. One of the many reasons I got rid of it.
dang. are you sure the floorboards weren't rusted through? mine doesn't seem to get any exhaust on the inside. can't pick up any carbon monoxide inside the van while idling for long periods of time on my detector that is super sensitive and tells you the ppm. the engine also put out 0 carbon monoxide at idle during the emission test. I'm sure there was some but so low their instruments didn't even pick it up
@@4WheelKid Yeah, it's crazy. The van was really rust-free. All the original sound-deadening material was brittle and easily removed by hand. The Express has these rubber bungees that hold the doghouse on, and those were dry rotted and weak. That's honestly probably what it was. Just not enough pressure to keep the seal tight.
Thanks. Wish you had playlists. Would be easier to find related or topic videos from you... Should make it easier for people to watch the back catalog and keep the ads going...
I also have a 93 E150 Club Wagon Van 5.8L. I've been having iddle issues and irregular idling were even after is warm, the idle stays high. I have it at mechanics and got egr valve code and something about not getting hot enough for her valve to open. I have a 160° thermostat on it and a 3 core all aluminium radiator so it runs cold. I saw a video were the guy was having simular issues and change out a cat converter and 02 sensor that went bad and fixed the issue. What do you think..?
hey, has the obd scanner worked on it before? I have 1 obd scanner that would not communicate but all my other obd2 scanners do. maybe try a different one?
Nice! Thanks for that, yeah I found it hard to find econoline videos so I started making them. Yours might be when they redesigned the engine cover but probably still pretty similar

no problem, yeah that was a different generation of van with different overall design. glad it was still helpful though
I've googled, removal of doghouse many times and yours is the first to demonstrate the process. thank you so much!
Glad to help!

Yeah should be sweet when its all done! It will probably take me 2 years to do haha. Yeah the winnebago revel is so cool but $200,000 dollars haha
I take’n my T dub on the back of my Van from Canada to Mexico . Best ever van bike ever ✌️
very nice! seems like the perfect combo haha
You rule! I have an E350 short bus and wanted to remove mine to paint it because I'm a little extra like that. Thank yoouuu for this video! 🥳
Hey thanks, no problem, glad to help other econoline owners. Have fun with your short bus build! Those are cool
does anyone know where i can get a shop or owners manual for this rig?!?!???!?? I cant find anything on a diesel anywhere!!
Thank you for this video, saved me from a massive headache
You're welcome!
thanks Kid, nice video. I pulled my seats right out to get them out of the way, only 4 hold downs. had to buy a t55 torx bit.

Yeah all good stuff I wish I knew that for my first van back of engine spark plugs easier if you go front inside
Indeed, that engine access is so nice, will be perfect for dropping the transmission also
What do you think of a 2002 e150 4.2l with 140k miles are they good cargo vans reliable and last?
not super familiar with those engines but I looked it up and they seem really good. not going to have much power or torque though. but probably better gas mileage
Tdubskid... why have I never seen this channel lol wtf. Subbed.
haha, haven't talked about it much before I started the van build. thanks!
Thanks for the video
no problem!
Sweet rig 👍 would make a nice camper
For sure! that's the plan
Good video.
thanks!
Man you have a lot of work ahead of you lol
I do indeed! no instant gratification here

no problem! I have been needing to do that, just needs to get around to making those
Hey man does the harmonic balancer has spikes at the back of it???
Not sure, but ill find out when I replace the timing chain and water pump

I would check for a vacuum leak by smoke testing the intake
@@4WheelKid k. Thanks
This is exactly what I have lol
Nice haha
hey man, I have a 96 ecoline e-250 too, my obd scanner isn't working, do you have any idea what it could be?
hey, has the obd scanner worked on it before? I have 1 obd scanner that would not communicate but all my other obd2 scanners do. maybe try a different one?
Brilliant thankyou e 250 uk😁
No problem 👍
Question, where is the fuse box for the cab? coz, I recently bought one and I need to know?
Under the driver side dash
@@4WheelKid thank you
What about the installation which is more difficult
Pretty easy just make sure everything lines up
at 5:25 how are you pulling the PCM data?
Yeah this van has ob2 with the big block 460. Kinda rare actually
@@4WheelKid oh that makes sense. I thought it was obd1 like mine.
would this work in the 1994 version?
yeah should be the exact same, they didn't change the design until 97 as far as I know
@@4WheelKid ok thank you. I just bought mine yesterday so this is all new to me as I'm use to only Toyota Carollas
Dog house invented by the 3 stooges big pain in the way butt esp. when older with the rubber coming off!! also 2 close 2 the floor etc..!!!!!!
yeah it takes up some room, but so nice when working on the engine
My dog house 3 times wider than yours!!!
so it's the entire width of the van?
I have a 97 Ford E350V10. You gotta subscribe For me it's hard finding videos for my vehicle. It should be the same for mine, correct?
