I altered a Revell Titanic with balsa bulkheads weighted with lead when I was a kid. It was designed to sink. This was 1993 or 4. It worked great as I tested the theory and process in our bathtub. I tied a string on the front so I could sink it in my local pond and then pull it back up. One day, when I got bored and a little older, I decided to disconnect the string and just let it go. Somewhere in Westland, MI, USA there's a model of the Titanic laying at the bottom of the pond, sunk by a 16 year old me, 30 years ago. I still think about it. I also began by exploring the concept with a styrofoam egg carton laden with marbles as ballast. Good stuff. :) Thanks for sharing.

I stumbled across Sam’s videos after searching something titanic related after rewatching the movie. I have always been so intrigued by the titanic disaster growing up. After discovering Sam’s channel here, I started to discover just how many other extremely interesting things from history related to ships/shipwrecks. Discovering this channel has led me down a rabbit hole of such amazing history that I didnt even know about. So Sam, thank you kindly for what you do and how you do it.

I am so glad that a company has decided to bring this model back. Throughout my childhood, I had done so much research on this ship and I was fortunate enough to see the actual artifacts from the wreck itself in person when it was on tour in Oklahoma. That's an "odds against" story. Time comes when it sees fit. Kind of funny too that as this video started I was noticing how much your collection has grown in the background. Another neat addition to add to it. I had never seen or heard of the "Submersible Titanic" model before, so that was a nice intro to it. I am a collectibles toy fan so unique toys are always interesting to me. P.S. The good thing about the Submersible is that it can be raised.

Hi Sam! I initially considered purchasing one of the original sinking models off eBay when I first heard of it but decided against it, haha. I love your content! You tell me new things about the Titanic which I never knew and talk about parts of the Titanic story which I never see discussed. I appreciate you probably have a lot of video ideas to work on already but I have a video idea for you. I would love it if you made a video discussing the dogs on board the Titanic (I love animals, haha). You could discuss the kennel on board the ship, which passengers brought dogs on board, how they were treated, the planned dog show for Monday 15th April and the ultimate fate of the dogs. You could also discuss the myth of Rigel the big black Newfoundland dog and give your views on it. Great video as always!

I had always dreamed of owning a titanic submersible model growing up, until finally, a couple years ago, a kid in my neighborhood gave me one for free because it was slightly broken and missing all the funnels. I was able to fix it up, and I even figured out a way to modify it to make the stern come higher out of the water before it split up. I have since made some videos of it on my own channel, and it has been a dream come true for me.
I recently started to 3D model my own version of the Titanic submersible model to 3D print, but I just clicked on this video and saw that it's been done already! Great job!

Either way I have a question that I’d love you to cover on your channel. It’s something I’ve thought of for a while, never seen or heard it in any of the accounts of that fateful night. My question is: did they not try to use the ship’s incredible whistles to attract attention from the California, maybe even blow out some kind of SOS? If they did would it have been heard? Wanted the old submersible Titanic Model when I was younger! This is awesome to see a company bring it back!

I found out about this model only couple of weeks ago and was super sad they didn't sell it anymore. This is my perfect opportunity to get one!!

Omg! The model is awesome! And I love your channel. I’ve been a fan of titanic since elementary school reading about it in books there was a painting of the sinking that stuck with me and from that day I made sure to find something about the Titanic.

This is awesome. I have been dreaming of getting a model like this since I was a kid. I watched videos about it and even tried to make one myself. This is making me really happy.

Good to see a company keep these types of toys alive for younger folks.

I’ve been watching you for a few years. You are one of the best UA-camrs ever seen in all of history.

Great way to teach our grandchildren! Thanks for showing this. Highly recommend they look in to advertising with homeschool families. Many of us are big Titanic fans. I am a “retired” HS mom of 5 now adult children. We enjoyed our unit study on the Titanic.
