Over the years I have purchased both of these Bibles in NASB. I purchased the Schuyler first and read that for a few years before buying my Allan. Due to that it has become my main Bible. I've taken it around the world and on camping trips in the outdoors. I write in it and use it often. I've finally gotten comfortable enough with it after 7 years to cut out the ribbons. I should have done that years ago! It adds to the ease of my reading experience. With that I like the Allan better. I read my Allan during unplanned reading. I love the classic layout better. It is comforting to me. It reminds me of Bibles from my childhood. I still treat that one with kid gloves, and I will not be writing in it or cutting out the ribbons! Lol
If I was blessed to actually have to make the decision between those 2 I’d pick the Allan pretty much just because of the double column center column format. That’s my favorite format. Now a days it’s hard to find a Bible with double column center column reference. Not sure why. It’s the best layout.
I'd probably go with the Allan. I love the blue and silver art gilding. And having the reference notes in the center column does make them easier to find than if they were at the bottom, I would think.
I totally agree with you about the size of the font in the concordance. May as well not even be there. I have a new NASB Schuyler also and it is absolutely beautiful! It has a blue-under-silver gilt now, too. The words look like tiny ants crawling across the pages. I'm also discovering I don't care for the references at the bottom of the page as much as I thought I would. I think I'd rather have the middle column. The workmanship is exquisite though except for that unfortunate concordance.
I have the older Schuylers with the 36 gsm paper and ever since they switched to 28 gsm I've ended up going with Allan. Turning the paper without a fight makes a difference but both are definitely winners.
The stitching in theory is great until it starts to unravel from use. My Schuler personal quentel the stitching has come apart in some area of the cover. Either the glue comes undone or the stitching breaks from use. The glued flap you can re glue the stitching you can’t re stitch. I do burn the stitches that are broken with a lighter so they disappear. Both have their faults and good points
The only reason I am not 110% for Allan is because they prefer double column verse by verse. Schuyler really jumps ahead for that reason, in my opinion. The Scuyler Quentel is simply the BEST reading bible for me, no competition.
Schuyler for me. I have never liked the print of Allen Bibles, it always looks like the old dark crowded print Bibles to me. I find Schuyler prints much clearer and cleaner. The 28gsm doesn’t bother me either, the more you use a Bible the easier it is. I also really don’t like blue under silver, and I find that blue with red numbers in the text really wrong. I agree Schuyler could use more paper at the back!
I really like the Schuyler. I do agree that it would be so much better with 36GSM paper. Thanks Tim, great review as usual.

Allan definitely wins it for me. Better paper and I’m not a fan of the cross on the leather, would like to see options without it.
Thank you for this great side by side review, I think it’s the first I’ve seen between Schuyler and Allen. Really helpful. 👍
Not sure if it was mentioned but the Allan is verse by verse and the Schuyler is paragraph
RL Allan is the Rolls Royce of Bibles. 🎉
Thanks for another great video

I agree. The thin paper can be super hard to get ahold of.
Allan 🏆 great video brother
Nothing beats a Schuyler
Hmmm….
Whereas paragraph style works well for ESV and CSB, I prefer the traditional verse by verse format for NASB and KJV.
I can’t afford either right now but I enjoy my NIV1, and think I’d like the Allen better.
Allan for me.
I had the chance to buy one. I picked the Schuyler because it has 11 point. I have bad eyes and need the biggest letters I can get.
Do you know of any Allan’s that are slightly smaller similar to a PSQ ? … and with the gold , I don’t like the silver
I do not.

I’ve never had that happen. Hopefully I never do!
I have both of these bibles and the Allan is way beter. IMO
The text block / readability is not even close for me. Allan is #1
My take is that Schuyler is formal and Allan is casual. Whereas the Schuyler is superior, the Allan is more comfortable.
Shots fired!!!
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews I’m saying that some people like three piece suits and some like jeans, boots, shirt and sports jacket. I’m in the latter.

My go to is the NKJV Large Print Thinline from Nelson. It’s everything the Quentel is with better paper and a thinner spine.
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews fascinating choice!
Killed it.
Allan for me 😊
Schuyler for me 😊
The allan block isn't line matched
Hard to tell the paper is so opaque.
LOL 😂😂😂 "What is that a 3 point font?"
Ha ha. It’s so annoying.
Allan wins

For clarity, the Schuyler has red accents, the Allan does not.
