    Love the video. For me BGV9 is the best Fairtex glove I ever had. They feel the best hitting pads and the bags, you can spar “lightly” with them as well. And best thing about them is they get better and better the more you use them.

    This is easily the best and most thorough glove comparison on youtube! Please continue doing this segment! I'd really like to see a Mexican glove showdown. Since everyone owns a pair of Cleto Reyes they make a great baseline for this purpose. You could do it in the format of comparing Cletos to every other Mexican brand. Cletos vs Casanova, Cletos vs GIL, Cletos vs New Sporting, etc. Looking forward to more content. Subscribed!

    Couple of things.
    You can get the BGV1 in 18 oz.
    The BGV1’s hand compartment may be spacious in width but it is not in length. If you have long enough fingers, they may eventually poke through

      @combat_corp  4 місяці тому

      Thanks for the comment! Yes I have seen the available in 18s before but was going off Fairtex's website which from my view only went up to 16. And yes you are correct about the hand compartment

    I have a BGV1 and BGV9, and I gotta say as good as the 1 is, the 9 is so much more fun. It somehow has a much nicer snap on the bag/pads while doing a better job protecting my knuckles. It's been the only pair of gloves I've had that never bruised my knuckles during the break-in process. I would've preferred a slightly shorter cuff and a straighter thumb with the 9, but other than that it's my favorite glove so far.

      Damn I think I’m the only one who’s bgv9 causes pain before I even get to punch anything. That liner hurts a lot. Just my hand moving causes redness and blisters. I wish it was that soft linen that’s in the bgv1

    I didn't realize the bgv1 gloves don't have a grip bar. I wouldn't have bought them if I had known, but after using them for a while, no grip bar doesn't matter a bit for heavy kickboxing sparring gloves. They are great and I like them for sparring. They are not nearly as good for punching as boxing gloves are though, they feel fat and sluggish. But for what they're optimized for I love them.

      I own all 3. Rb11, Rb10, Rb50 in that order imo.
      Rb50, Lightest of the three. Great if youre working on speed and just enough d30 protection but still feel the feedback.
      Rb10, Most protective of the three. I can punch a brick wall and still dont feel nothing however with the most d30 material i felt it was the most stiff of the three and took a long time to break in.
      Rb11, Right smack in the middle of both. just the right amount of hand protection and lighter than the 10s & a little more weight than the 50s. Everytime i used these it just felt right. I love these that much i bought them twice.

    I love the BGV9's and it's hands down one of the most satisfying gloves I've ever used in bag and padwork however, there was a situation when we had to do a bit of sparring in class and I had no other gloves so I had to use it. Obviously, I had to make the extra effort of pulling my punches back more than I'm used to because of the stiff knuckle padding but the bigger problem was, I had to block punches and kicks with it and a tear opened up on the lower cuff side. I'm not sure if it's something that can be fixed because it opened right where the stitch that connected the lower part of the glove met the velcro on the other side (the one that held the counterweight.) I probably would just have to tape it. So basically, if you want the gloves, just avoid sparring or drilling with it altogether because it doesn't seem designed for that kind of contact. Other than that, it's a cracking glove.

    Well explained Sir, I myself practice pure Boxing and noticed that the dense Padding of the Fairtex Bgv1 and Bgv9 makes their padding too hard so that you can hurt your sparring partner. That is why I don't like Fairtex gloves for pure Boxing. Maybe they work in Thai Boxing, but I doubt in Boxing.

    Hello. Just discovered your channel and enjoy the content. I have just gotten back into Muay Thai training after about a 7 year hiatus. I picked up some Fairtex gear at the time as I that was the “brand” I really only was familiar with. Particularly the 14oz BGV1 gloves and some SP3 shinguards. I also was gifted some new Combat Corner HMIT gloves and guards. I also saw your video in these gloves. The mint is pretty cool looking. I received the all white. Admittedly, I only have used the shin guards, which I do like. The gloves I have not. I prefer the shorter Fairtex style, but that could just be my lack of experience. I was looking into some Boon compact or Top King gear to add to my collection. Is there one you feel is similar in overall size comparable to the shorter Fairtex, and if you happen to have any experience with the Boon/TK shin guards, please? Thanks for your thoughts and advice in advance.

    • @XtopherMartin
      @XtopherMartin 2 місяці тому

      Just got the TK shin guards. Primo protection. They are relatively streamlined for having so much padding. They don't slip or slide and don't hold back your movement. I almost sized down based on some recommendations, but my 15 inch shins fit perfectly with the large. I have no experience with Boon, but have zero complaints with TK. I also bought the Venum Elite, but they never made it out of the box. They might be less bulky, but TK is rock solid.

    I’m not a fan of the inside lining at the top of hand and fingers. It’s rough compared to the Bgv1 is that normal for this glove? I can’t wear it cause it causes my fingers to get blisters even with my hand wrapped my fingers still get red and blistered :/

      RS1s are great for sparring and sure you can use them for bag work but the foam will eventually flatten out more compared t the others listed/ I would say Boon out of all of these. I really enjoy using boons. Good clinch and protective like a regular boxing gloves
