Depends on what you're looking for and how big your hands are. How much you care for comfort level and durability vs price. Out of the three, Reyes have better leather and roomier compartment for me. Prob the least comfy out of the 3 due to lining and thumb placement but if you want training, I recommend the extra padding variant. For price, Fairtex is the least expensive if you're patient to get them from Thailand, will take anywhere from 2-3months for shipping, at least in my experience but you pay 1/4 the price of Reyes. If you want custom, Alien from TB is great and unmatched. Because it's basically tailored to my hand, it's the most comfortable out of the three. I have to say, Reyes is usually heavier than the listed weight. They have been going less than listed weight recently on some of their gloves and their stitching quality has gone down compared to the ones I bought from early 2010s. So it's a hit or miss, though it's usually a hit, just expect some misses. My previous pair of Reyes extra padding lasted 6yrs, for bag and padwork only and rotating with other gloves. The pads gave out and leather are still good though I take care of em properly. I'd have to say, it's prob the most durable leather out of all the gloves I have but the leather feels different from the newer pair I bought, not as thick... so only time will tell.
Fairtex describes padding as dual-layered latex in one sentence, but also as utilising their signature three-layered padding in another sentence. In this regard you describe feeling a firm EVA layer closer to the hand. If all three explanations are correct the padding is dual-layered latex on an EVA base. I did ask Fairtex (Australia) to confirm, but they never replied. Please reinvestigate this. EVA is a negative. A recent BGV5 purchase arrived with the left hand compartment, unusable, crushed out of shape most likely due to tight/squashed storage.

Thanks for this review! I just got a pair of these in 14oz. I have smallish hands and I found the compartment quite wide but they worked well with the thickness of my hand (like between my palm and back of hand). I didnt think they were tight though, at least compared to titles, which I find quite tight @16oz before breaking in. I think it's actually roomier than my friend's cletos @14oz. But Your hands are much much bigger than mine. You also didn't mention the finger-tip grip bar, which is one of my favourite bits about these gloves. It's nice to just have something extra to grip on. I also found the leather to be really slippery, which might help punches slip through the guard 😬.

Loaded question. If you are looking for a glove that is great for clinching, to punch through someone's guard, and that is overall better for muay thai work I'd say the BGV1 but it has a small wrist cuff which is not that great for overall wrist support. But if you are doing more punch based boxing/kickboxing that doesn't utilize the clinch as much and has better wrist support, BGV9 is a great choice. Maybe I'll do a video on this
@@combat_corphi bgv 9 or 11 or 19 for kickboxing. There are too many of these models :)
Might be biased because I like them a lot bu the BGV11s are a great glove I have to review them soon@@Marianos-xn9ni
@@combat_corp I ordered two days ago 9 but somehow I was more headed for 11 and today I still saw 19 and I'm already crazy hahah :) I'll order 11 May nice color :)
Fun fact: most of the puncher type boxer don't have a one punch power
Elaborate
Is it the padding?
do they thick seam cover on the fingertips area that you can clamp your fingers down into like winning one ?
I’d say it’s better personally, it feels more like a second grip bar.
Что он говорит?
They’re kinda roomy inside tbh
Hurt my fingers. Can't make a good fist
I'm sorry to heart that! You must have longer fingers than mine!
@@combat_corp actually I got short fingers. But I don't seem to be able to make a good fist which leads to my finger knuckles/joints hitting the bag instead of the "hand knuckles"
I didn't have that issue with other gloves. I heard Mexican gloves are unforgiving but my fingers definitely stick out further than if I make a fist without or with another glove.
Do the gloves just need to be broken in? Was planning to send them back otherwise
I have the 10oz version
Hi, bgv9 owner here. I use the 12 oz, They're great after 2 months of me breaking them in on seperate days. I use them exclusively for bag and pads though as I am in love with the feedback it makes. My issue is the same with yours for the first few weeks of me getting them. Give them a chance! Wear them randomly throughout the day, punch the bags or hell even the wall. It's amazing now and I like them more as a bag glove than my winnings due to the better pop they make.
I have a weakness for Fairtex...
