Fun fact: I was on a plane from Minneapolis to Las Vegas. I was sitting across a man and his wife, I couldn’t stop staring at him…I’ve seen him before. Three hour flight and I just couldn’t figure it out. 20 minutes before landing it hit me, the coach from teen wolf. As we all got up I said “coach from Teen Wolf right”? He looked at his wife and said angrily “I’ll never escape this”. I then said I mean no disrespect but those lines you had in that movie were solid gold. He said, yeah yeah and rolled his eyes. His wife a minute or so later whispered in my ear…”oh don’t worry, he loves it”.
This was a while back, before smart phones so I waited until I got back home to look him up on the internet’s. Ends up he did a lot more than just be on Teen Wolf. Anyways, I think that’s a story worth telling. Fantastic movie, fantastic roll he had in it.

I guess he wasnt acting in here, sounds like a self entitled dickhead. The wife sounds fantastic though, I have had probably a hundred dealings with various actors and personalities that pull this shit.
Great role though and amazing dialogue

Bobby Finstock is awesome, but not enough screen time. The greatest coach in the history of cinema, hands down is Reggie Dunlop. If I need to say the movie, then we got problems. The reason he's the greatest, because he's the centerpiece of the film!

    • @Skank_and_Gutterboy

Yep, he's got his job, he's got his office, and he's got a full-time job that is usually a shitty collateral duty that nobody wants. That's job-security, he doesn't have to give a shit, so he takes that and runs. This guy is even more worthless than the guidance counselor. If the school's hierarchy was on a totem pole, this guy would be buried in the ground up to the bottom of his eyeballs.

One of my favorite scenes is just before Scott turns into the wolf on the court, the coach is seen eating a hard boiled egg. He turns to the kid sitting next to him and says: "Hey go get me some salt." The kid looks at him like he was crazy and coach again says..."Salt." :P

I know this is an 80’s teen sports comedy but, this is legit a comedic acting master class. When Coach Finstock goes from “that’s what I’m here for…” to “as you can see I’m a busy man” in the blink of an eye because a player actually needs help is so subtle and fucking perfect. This scene stuck with me when I saw this as like a 7 year old kid on a two for one VHS special w/ Back to the Future. I am on the verge of 42 and I still love this movie. Also it’s so funny when it looks like the kid pulls his dong out at the end 😂😂😂

I found Bobby Finstock character in this movie very hillarious in this movie too. It's like he don't want to hear about teenage problems, so he contrives this absurd dialogue with Scotty in the belief that Scotty wants to borrow money. Only to leave Scotty more confused than when he went in to see the coach. I think the reason we like this character is because he can bs his way out of a sticky situation, without seeming uncaring and cold.

The KFC is an early and simple example of what is called product "integration"..They actually wrote KFC product into the script...This is becoming more common today as product "placement" is being replaced by advertisers preferring to be part of the script itself rather than just be in the shot somewhere..I work in television media and so I see this all the time.
