Really appreciated this episode. Just made me feel like I am totally not the only one who struggles with this, and that this might be a phenomenon. Also appreciated the part where you make the distinction between asking for the things that would specifically feel supportive to you, rather than list the long laundry list of things why you need to feel supported. I've done that much too often and never realized how much it has not serving me 😅

I also have a similar experience with being praised for the "harder" work. I went from a customer sevice call center job that was mentally taxing to a factory where working on the machines was considered "real work" but the factory is sooooo much easier mentally I only have to make occasional small talk with coworkers instead of the hours of nonstop borderline abusive phone calls. What y'all do is more important than customer service but family and support systems not understanding can feel so invalidating. I love your content!

This was helpful to not only Therapist but anyone working or running a business from home. Thank you for the insight 😊

Because they see me as "the problem" -- I'm the Scapegoat in my family -- they see me as a misguided, troubled person who doesn't understand therapy, families, abuse, or myself. It's okay -- because I understand all of it and more. :)

Do you actually do an hour for session?
I do 45 mins and seems to be standard with most of my colleagues
