Given how it is getting harder and harder to become a therapist, I've been reflecting on how I would do things differently if I were to go through my therapy training today.
As it turns out, I'd do a lot of things differently - like most of it! So I thought it could be helpful for me to share those reflections with you.
Please keep in mind that I see these as reflections on how I'd do things differently - I don't mean that I think these same changes would fit for everyone. But I think it can be helpful to hear different potential paths that are available.

    Hey Dr Fang!
Longtime subscriber and MA Counseling student here. Thanks for your content. Do you have any thoughts on CACREP PhD’s in Counseling Education and Supervision? I’ve heard CACREP is wanting doctors from these programs specifically to teach in their programs. Like you, I want to mainly teach and provide therapy. This degree seems fit for that. Any thoughts?

YES! Thanks for asking this question! I'm enrolled to pursue a MA in Counseling as well and can't wait to hear Dr. Fang's response.

Do you have any thoughts on doing an online masters program part-time while maintaining a full-time job? My thoughts align with what you said about going to school part-time, being able to really take in the information and get the most out of the education, but I am having a hard time finding online programs that I feel I can trust / are worth the money (even with CACREP accreditation). Do you have any thoughts? Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Look into Concordia University Irvine, the Townsend institute. You can take classes part time, all online, small classes, and CACREP accredited.
