Hey my guy, can you possibly give time codes next time you talk about something that is coming in a show/movie that would be a spoiler for anybody who hasn't read the comics? Can you help be out with some time codes after the Bastion talk please?
@@loonybin7835 It’s not a big spoiler. Knowing who he is doesn’t ruin the story. Most people have thought that the Genosha mutant massacre, would happen, since the first episode. It’s like knowing who Apocalypse is, and Cassandra Nova, who are also characters attached to things from what we’ve gotten so far.

@akshatverma7857 Three things that the fanboys are upset about. One, the character Morph is non-binary. Two, the anti-mutant group, Friends of Humaity are apparently depicted as white supremacists. Three, the female leads (Storm and Rogue) are front and centre. These are just some of what they are raging about. A sexual orientation of a fictional character. Stan Lee based the mutant lore on the Civil Rights Movement. And Friends of Humanity were seen as the nazi's. And having female leads nowadays is obviously woke. 🙄

My god, the hype of seeing Bastion in this show and the adaptation of Operation Zero Tolerance arc is just awakening my inner child. And I didn't even read the comics back then.
The kind of established rule for Morph on the show is that he can mimic purely physical powers such as physical density, speed, strength, etc, but not energy based or psychic powers or any powers that aren't tied directly to the physical embodiment of that character. So no energy charges, no teleportation, no illusions, and no telepathy.

I rarely see when Morph transforms, and sometimes they don’t even show it. So this episode I was like “Oh! Quicksilver is here, when did he get recruit-oh wait that’s Morph again” Really great powerset though
Morph can alter and mimic anything physical, including physiological powers, unlike Mystic, who only copy the aesthetics, and Copycat, who can mimic both physical appearance and a wide range of superpowers. This is talking about the comics, like any adaptation they may have changed it for the show
@@leonardobraynen1524 this event hasn't happened in the show. Left team sure, he has done that in the first five seasons. I am referring to the comics where cyclops becomes disillusioned by Charles Xavier's dream and proceeds to become a villain

Theo James casually racking up voice credits on projects with hardcore fandoms with witcher, castlevania, dark crystal & x-men 97. And so far no pratt mario situations that's impressive
Don’t know much about Bastion, but I assumed the pinkish skin was simply related to the Sentinels color scheme. It kinda radiates out from him, an energy source.
I think Morph did a bit of power copying too in the old show. When he came back for an episode and he and Wolverine found some more sentinels, and then he went away again until the finale. Honestly I kid of miss Evil Morph from season 2 of the old show, he was such a fun little gremlin when he was messing with the X Men there.
You're overthinking the morph thing. Mutants like Morph can do whatever you need them to do in order to service the story. It has always been that way.
@@wisdommanari6701individual plots, character beats, and emotional moments are more important. Thr obsession with "internal consistency" is a pretty recent thing, and is kinda the fault of American comics specifically, with their focus on tie in stories, timeliness, alternate universes and the like. A good story can stand on its own, as they have done since the beginning of story telling hundreds of thousands of years ago
I think the conceit of Morph is that they 1) imitate but don't duplicate (like they could go fast, but not Quicksilver top speed) and 2) They're made of unstable molecules or something, so if they want to transform into a bigger stronger person they can, but they're exerting a lot of energy to keep pull external molecules into their body and keeping those borrowed molecules held together. If they can manipulate things on a molecular (albeit intuitive) level I wonder if they could duplicate adamantium claws for a short time. We've seen Molecule Man change the molecular composition of Cap's shield... so if Morphs powers are controllable at that level they probably could... for a short time anyway. All that said... comics logic and multiple universes yadda yadda yadda inconsistencies across versions but that's my headcanon that I'm PRETTY SURE I'm pulling from the comics from memory
I could see it leading into a few storylines. First, I think we may end with Onslaught, after which I could see it turning into Planet X, a new Apocalypse story, or even a variant of Decimation/Endangered Species but swapping out M-Day for the Genosha Massacre.
It’s crazy with so many more guardrails, X-Men 97 affects me far more than Invisible season 2 (don’t get me wrong, S1 Invincible amazing). I hope X-Men 97 sticks the landing this season, and I hope they have an amazing season two
I find it HIGHLY suspicious that Storm was not in this episode. I was originally disappointed that they replaced Forge's holodeck penthouse from Lifedeath with a regular degular cabin on the plains, but the fact that he had the Bastion picture, plus some suspicious moments (Storm saying she sees the same owl cycling all day, the house rebuilding itself when the Adversary attacks) makes me wonder if there isn't one more sellout Forge moment upcoming.
@thenandocut I believe Morph was imbued with a catalog of superhuman and mutant DNA that allows him to transform into other superhumans he has never even met before. Morph never had this power set before Sinister. In the comics, Sinister stole his shapeshifting abilities from another mutant named Courier.
Loved all the Hulk & Avengers references and also Charles Xavier was held in the Hulkbuster base during his incarceration by Bastion during the Operation Zero Tolerance story in 1997.
I'm honestly amazed at how good this show actually is. This easily could have been The Wolverine Show, but the creators made a (very good) choice not to do that. I love that the first episode was a little reminder of what these characters are, and now here we are, coming up on the season finale and it's the thing I look forward to the most during the week.
Looks like you were right about Bastion being the big bad of the show. I honestly didn't expect Bastion to be revealed to be the big bad, and though I'm not too familiar with the character, he certainly has a sly, creepy tone, which gives you chills. Apparently, Bastion is some human-Sentinel hybrid made out of Nimrod and Master Mould hell-bent on wiping out Mutants, but that's all I know. Loved the unexpected Captain America's cameo and the mention of the Hulk; it really makes this universe feel fleshed out and interconnected with the other Marvel 90 '90s shows. I wish Wolverine and Cap got to reunite again for one time in this episode since, canonically, they both served alongside each other in WW2. I kind of wish we saw more of Cap in this episode to be honest I have to say, seeing Rogue struggle with the gripping internal emotional struggle she's going through and all the rush of emotions, grief, anger, pain, and vengeance was tragic to watch. Im glad Nightcrawler stepped up as she adopted her brother to comfort her, but her willingly killing Trask, even if she didn't know he was a human Sentinal, was dark asf! Also, cool seeing Emma survive and unlock her diamond form, I hope if the show gets a Season 2, they add Emma as part of the X-men, and then they can really go all out on the whole Emma, Scott and Jean love triangle drama.
So back in the 90’s around when the original cartoon was super popular, they sold giant bundles of X-men comics and they came with X-force and X-factor comics. I think the sold them from the JC penny catalog. Anyway one year for Christmas my mom got me one a bundle for Christmas because I was such a giant xmen cartoon fan and that’s when I started reading comics and strong guy always reminds me of that since he was in all the X force comics.
I grew up watching the original series. I don't resd comic books, but I've always love that classic 90's show This 6th season is beyond awesome. It's insane how good it is.
Another commenter said it but Morph really is just whatever is needed at the time. Initially it was really fun since he's basically a cameo machine but it's kind of weird to think about, especially when there are characters like Synch who can use other mutants' powers, it comes at a cost. Its starting to feel really cheap. I really liked Cable's entrance but it definitely felt like it should've been his first appearance. I get that he appears in Genosha to cover the "why did the guy who can timeslide not try to stop this tragic event" but it really feels like this was the grand intro. I'm really surprised you didn't cover the Captain America appearance. Its hard to say how well it actually represents his character but it absolutely feels consistent in every non-Avengers comic arc where someone is like "Why can't the Avengers do anything?" and its just some random excuse so that the plot works to focus on the actual team at hand
I personally think morph can copy some of the power of someone but not the skill. When they were quicksilver they kinda looked worse than usual quicksilver
You are SO cute! lmao, I love how you started out all "This is the most epic shit that has happened in these Marvel streets" and slowly progressed to "this is dumb, and I don't like it." Def subbing
In the original 92 series, Morph seemed to only duplicate powers if they were physical: flight from wings, super strength from however their body is designed, and even weaker versions of Wolverine's claws. As long as the power was an extension of how the body is constructed. I guess speed is still physical, but he's getting pretty close to just being Mimic.
I thought it said in the end credits, character selection screen thing, that morph can use the physical abilities of whoever he copies. I could be mistaken though I only read it like during the first episode. For whatever reason I have not been confused by his use of powers.
I’ve really been wanting an X factor special presentation episode like how Invincible did with Atom Eve I feel like it can be really good In between seasons
Hey i have to give your props for being the only UA-camr to actually talk about Morph and how he should not have Quicksilver powers. He has the ability to copy physical features to an extent. Not a prefect copy. To be able to copy others powers that are not physical is more like Mimic.

Remember, during OZT Gambit, Rogue, Joseph*, Beast, Bishop, Psylocke, and Archangel weren't around. They were in space fighting the Phalanx then sent back to Earth in time for Gambit's trial they are already going off the rails 😅
I would love to see onslaught, like if we are doing operation zero tollerance, we can do onslaught. Also seeing ths team change to new XMen would be neat. I would love a spinoff where they make a 80s/90s style new mutants or just an episode. Ill take just an episode where jubilee and roberto go off to be new mutants (i know jubilee isnt a new mutant but she'd fits the team)
My first X-family issue I picked up after seeing the 90’s cartoon was X-Factor #87, the psych evaluation issue. I’ve loved that team and everyone on it ever since. (Rahne was my angsty kid favorite but Guido was great too)
Bastion does already remind me more of his work as Hector from Castlevania. I recognized his voice from his first line, and was happy to see he was on this show too.
Nando, I hope you see this message. I'd love a series or video where you talk about how to start reading comics. Specifically Xmen comics. I've read some here and there, but I want to start over. Where do I start? Which stores do I read and in what order?

Morph can alter and mimic anything physical, including physiological powers, unlike Mystic, who only copy the aesthetics, and Copycat, who can mimic both physical appearance and a wide range of superpowers. This is talking about the comics, like any adaptation they may have changed it for the show
Why are you crying, Scott? This is great! Oh, right.
🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
I believe that in the last episode Xavier will return to earth. I think Cyclops will say "Magneto was Right" and leave the team...
Again!
😅
@@leonardobraynen1524 this event hasn't happened in the show. Left team sure, he has done that in the first five seasons.
I am referring to the comics where cyclops becomes disillusioned by Charles Xavier's dream and proceeds to become a villain
@@chainmasters2178Nobody can convince me that Magneto is a villain. He’s generally right!
We owe Beau an apology.
I’ve loved the 90’s XFactor team since I was a kid. They were always my favorite cards and figures to play with. I’m really hoping we get to see Havok again.
I love how you didn't mean to make many videos about this series, and now you've made them weekly.
Theo James casually racking up voice credits on projects with hardcore fandoms with witcher, castlevania, dark crystal & x-men 97. And so far no pratt mario situations that's impressive
I'm pretty sure the scene with Bastion shaving Magneto was an homage to Reservoir Dogs.
Everyone keep saying that
Don’t know much about Bastion, but I assumed the pinkish skin was simply related to the Sentinels color scheme.
You and I are in the exact same boat regarding Emma not only the same boat we’re sitting right next to each other lol
🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
I genuinely thought of you, Nando, when Strong Guy showed up! And I'm pleasantly unsurprised you had to make yet another video after all that pathos.
I need an Astonishing X-Men animated series based on Whedon's run with the comics.
GIVE ME MORE KITTY PRYDE AND COLOSSUS.
sending those daily positive vibes from Houston everyone!
🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
This week has literally been the week where every single X-Men fan found out every single other X-Men fan is a Strong-Guy fan.
Don’t believe me? Lookup/watch reactions online. 🙂
Exactly
"EMMA! EMMA!" You weren't alone, Nando.
🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
You're overthinking the morph thing. Mutants like Morph can do whatever you need them to do in order to service the story. It has always been that way.
Internal consistency is nice too though...
@@MorriganFinkel obsession 🤣😂🤣
Morph is there to be a walking Easter Egg.
@@chrisblake4198 honestly I'd accept that answer too lol
I hope X-Men 97 sticks the landing this season, and I hope they have an amazing season two
Agreed.
The show has been pretty consistently good. I wasn't as big of a fan of the Storm and Forge storyline but her new suit is perfect!
Yea, I wasn’t expecting this much either and I couldn’t be happier.
Morph turned into Blob in episode 1, so they have been showing us that he can change his size too. Omega level mutant confirmed
🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
Xmen 97 is THE BEST. ITS THE BEST. IVE WANTED THIS FOR SO LONG 😅😅 the mcu can kick rocks

I fkn LOVE
LOVE LOVE, eXiles!
Best version of Morph
Beast quoting Mr. Rogers and Nightcrawler's eulogy both made me tear up. They definitely know their target audience.
Could be moving towards Onslaught for next season.
x-men 97 reignited my x-men love to a degree I never would've expected.
OZT operation Zero tolerance, Bastion and Prime sentinels. It's a real strong season.
I kind of wish we saw more of Cap in this episode to be honest
I have to say, seeing Rogue struggle with the gripping internal emotional struggle she's going through and all the rush of emotions, grief, anger, pain, and vengeance was tragic to watch.
Anyway one year for Christmas my mom got me one a bundle for Christmas because I was such a giant xmen cartoon fan and that’s when I started reading comics and strong guy always reminds me of that since he was in all the X force comics.
lovely memory, thank you for sharing
Just subscribed 2 months ago. After years of hearing about i got curious, totally worth it.
🗣🗣🗣🗣
I grew up watching the original series. I don't resd comic books, but I've always love that classic 90's show
This 6th season is beyond awesome.
Morph is Ben 10 with 12 seconds skill duration
no one thought you were sitting weird bro lol don't worry
Never in my wildest dreams did I think this show was going to be this awesome❤❤ Loved it when I was a teenager❤❤ Love it even more now❤❤❤❤
Why hasn't Alex reached out to Scott. Surely he's seen his interview with Trish Tilby and figured out he's his brother.
Love the "I Think You Should Leave" reference.
Happy to see and hear Strong guy, always thought he would sound like Travolta though.
This show is a gift.
Yeah he is... A bit to Op 😅.
FD Signifier? I didn't know you were a man of culture 🥲
I would like the show to have the 22 episode season format again. Also, I wonder if they’ll introduce X-Factor and The New Mutants in future seasons
Morph was able to manifest swords in the first episode, I think they might just have "Rule of Cool" power.
Hey i have to give your props for being the only UA-camr to actually talk about Morph and how he should not have Quicksilver powers.
He has the ability to copy physical features to an extent. Not a prefect copy.
To be able to copy others powers that are not physical is more like Mimic.
i would love for X-Men to be the equivalent to Batman on the DC side where while there’s cartoons for the kids there’s also stuff for adults. hell give us an XFactor Investigations /X-Men crossover animated movie for disney plus
yes we do have our own underrated characters. Mine is Glob Herman. Just wild looking. his cameo as bystander watching Kitty pounds seven colors of snot out of Sebastian Shaw was a recent highlight.
X-men 97 has been an awesome experience
Yes it has
I really hope they do an age of apocalypse storyline at some point.
Why
I'm with you, man. Love Guido.
1:09 we did hear what strong guy sounds like in xmen S4E6 courage. Morph changes into strong guy and says one line.
My first X-family issue I picked up after seeing the 90’s cartoon was X-Factor #87, the psych evaluation issue.
I’ve loved that team and everyone on it ever since. (Rahne was my angsty kid favorite but Guido was great too)
I think this was my favorite episode so far. It was so incredible.
I love that Strong Guy fig
Xmen-97: No, we ain't stopping ❤
This background music sounds just like the alarm on my phone lol. I keep getting confused.
Ayooooooooo😅
Thanks for mentioning the Morph powers issue. So he's like a shape shifter plus. It doesn't make sense.
