A question on electrophoresis setup: why do we need a PLATINUM wire electrode for the electrophoresis? What exactly will happen if one replaces this to an ordinary Copper wire electrode?
Related to electrode potential. Pls refer reactivity of metals and electrode potential
@@AbhishekKumar-op5hn does it mean the DNA will travel just a little bit shorter distance with Copper wire electrode? Or, need to apply higher current to reach the same results?
Or - I guess - the Copper wire electrode could inject ERRORs in the electrophoresis setup, e.g. there will be more lines in the agarose, some of them will not belong to the DNA?
Can someone just try and do that experiment for us?
@@nextagro induction of error is quite certain. The distance traveled by a strand depends on a lot of factor, applied potential is one of those. Before conducting experiment I would like to dig some literature to support the hypothesis.

I am wondering what happens to allosteric proteins with multiple binding sites (multiple inputs - 1 substrate) when in presence of excess input concentrations.
