We just reviewed the DeWalt DCS575 on our channel a couple of months ago, I love our saw. The specs on this saw appear to be all the exact same as on our DCS575, except this saw claims 47% more power. But beware many companies including DeWalt play specsmanship games. Their claim of 47% more power is that this DCS578X1 is using a 9 AH battery, while my DCS575 is using a 6 AH battery. That does not sound like apples and apples to me.
My understanding is that the 575 utilized an 1800 watt motor. The left blade saw uses a 2400 watt motor. This saw is basically the 575 with the more powerful motor. Probably include the 9ah battery to increase run time with the bigger motor.
My 575 Flexvolt is so powerful and the ergos are great ,easy to see blade on left and right sides . Full depth rips are the ultimate test and these saws power through it .
Hi TRZ, I wish DeWalt can make this exact model but with a blade on the left side. Also a cover plate so we can screw on and cover the dust extractor section. I still like the dust coming out on the bottom then the side. I know some like to use a vacuum attachment for indoor work. That's why it will be cool if they can add a cover plate for those that don't. Now a comparison video on both models to see if there's really a big difference.
Haha thanks Allen. The channel has been doing really well this past month and hoping to hit 100k soon. If it does, we may be going full time with this bro👊
Nice saw and nice kit for the price. Like the blade brake. Seems super powerful. Don't like to many FlexVolt tools but this one could be my favorite 7 1/4 circular saw. Smooth cuts and looks to be easy to adjust. Great review 👍
Anyone else have problems with the blade alignment on this saw? Trying to cut using a speed square as a guide, I noticed the saw would feed away from the square, checked the blade in relation to the base plate, and it was 3/16" different from front to back of blade. There is no adjustments, so I ground out the front mount, and trimmed the edges of the base. Found the front mount was really loose, so also had to turn and install a bushing. It's a great saw!
You should put that up against Milwaukee 2732-20 with 12.0 battery with blade all the way down in pressure treated pine. Workshop addict did a comparison, but it wasn't too good because he had a 8.0 battery in it.
Love it Clint, keep it comin man. Wonder how this stacks up against I guess ANY 7-1/4 circ saw of any class coffee or otherwise. I’ve never seen a saw dive into solid treated and not bog even a little.... insane
I really think this could be the most power 7-1/4" out there Austin. Like you said, you usually get a little bog, but this just kept going. I just wish the blade was on the other side because that's how I like it, but still a beast!!!!!
Tool Review Zone yeah that’s what i was thinking! Do you think it’s more powerful than the rear handle? Also like to see this up against the power detect with the new 8.0 setup
Tool Review Zone yeah I was wondering why they don’t make the exact same body and everything just on the other side like the 6-1/2 ones. Why does it have to be bigger rear handle?
Hi, peoples... love the review, I have the 575 and it is a beast..!! I have let a few chippies use my saw on different sites here in the UK and they all said there was only one problem with it.... they had to return to me and not take it home with them....!! Love, Light and Peace to you all, no matter what tool platform you prefer...😏 👍👍👍
I just saw this video to see if i made the right purchase and seems i did👍🏻👍🏻 great video and amazing how you try to give enough information about the tool.
@@ToolReviewZone slicin and dicin my man! My old 20v is great for light work but not really usable to build pressure-treated decks. This kit came with a 9ah batt and fast charger (8ah) - a great deal versus just buying a single battery or tool-only.
Holy fuck 47%. The dcs75 is a beast already and the strongest on the market. Man dewalt is really going hard with their new power detect and flexvolt tools. All we need now is a power detect impact driver
Milwaukee has shown us the peak of the 18v platforms capabilities with their recent tablesaw. So this 60v dewalt platform and makita 40v really is the future of tools imo. And I just invested red last year. ☹
Dust extraction is a problem. I realize the blade guard handle passes in front of the dust port that prevents a vac hose attachment to be added to the saw, but with a little more design effort, I think DeWalt could have added a dust collector chute for a dust vac system. Bosch did it on their corded line.
I bought this for $209 and a free 6Ah battery and free shipping on TylerTool a month back. Do I need it? No. Did I really want it? Yes. I also bought a pair of the 9Ah for $180 and a 20V chainsaw for $80 last March at Murdoch's. Can't wait to get a chance to use it sometime.
Awesome review TRZ! I have the DCS575. Is this (DCS578) essentially a beefed up version of it? Also it looks like DeWalt updated the logo on the 9.0 battery.
I just ordered this an it also comes with a. 1/2 impact wrench can’t wait until it gets here. I would have preferred the blade on the left but it’s no deal breaker
