negros island is consider the little paris... it has more old churches and old houses during spanish times and very well preserved...go to silay city negros occidental
@@garlaalonzo8186 fyi only Silay city was considered to be little paris, not the whole Negros island. It make sense since Silay city has a lot of hertiage buildings too..
So beautiful mansion. I luv architecture & arts but not educated formally in those subjects. I see traditional Filipino decor styling in the woodwork & other areas, not solely Spanish. Halo halo 😆. & like someone said in comments antebellum vibes, also Art Deco maybe? with Filipino mix. Wonder if the room off the ballroom was the salon era/smoking type room for the men. That’s from old movies or PBS period movies😆, but my first thought was a servants’ staging area to bring out foods from to other dining area. So glad this was preserved.
Wow!amazing I'm so proud I'm half Ilongga this where my father came from not Molo but Passi Iloilo.Hes a US scout awarded a US citizenship in the Philippines.
I used to work in the building adjacent to the Molo Plaza, and although I see the church every day, I can't seem to take enough photos of this gothic beauty!

Our house in Villa Beach area next to Molo district. Villa Beach is a public beach ⛱ not so fancy but many locals go there cuz it's free and many restaurants and night life. Every Sunday my family goes to outing there before. I used to work in IDH ( Iloilo Doctor's Hospital) not too far from church. I got a job in the USA and I landed in the remote farm 🚜 I never expected. A city kid landed in the farm in the USA 35 yrs ago. They always think we grew up in a 3rd world country. We have many subdivisions there now. Close to Sta. Barbara Airport they're building mansions bigger than this Molo mansions but of course there's a simple Juan who just live in an ordinary nipa hut. Thanks for sharing your adventure in the city. You should have went to Gigantes islands or even Guimaras Island. There's many resorts there too.
Its not surprising that there is a fireplace there in that mansion, weather today compared in old days is really different. I remember at my 4 years old growing up in Tondo during the September month and onward ( till Feb). This is the cold months in the Phils. At young age we started wearing thick jackets to gear up for the cold season. So sad that the nowadays pinoys did not experienced that today. If it is cold in Manila in the year 1964 at my 4 years old, imagine how cold it is in that Mansion when it was completed. Good to have your vlog bringing up important things in the old era of my country not every Pinoy is so interested in this kind. Thank u.

If you walked further a block on the left if your facing the church, you can see another mansion that was turned into a school. It's architecture is also unique. ☺️
So sad you never got to see that musical fountain in Molo plaza. It's now in function and it's beautiful especially during night time. The Molo church is also beautiful during the night. I'm sure by the time you got back here in Iloilo, there will be so many places you missed will already be opened especially Jaro Plaza and Jaro Belfry. Maybe all of the plazas around the city too including Plaza Libertad, Lapaz Plaza, Arevalo Plaza. Try to visit museums the next time you'll come back. Thank you again for choosing Iloilo. That's true when there are close areas and lines the go pro just isn't the best. We have bought a great camera but finding a reasonably priced stabilizer for it has been the issue so far. Once that is solved that will change
