I feel like the sims team could implement height. Instead of a slider, they could use a few preset's, and they could assign fixed animations for each preset
Presets sound like a sensible compromise on paper but even if it is just average, short and tall presets that is still triple the work and animations compared to everyone being the same height. The animators already have their work cut out for them for The Sims games.
Cody Bury yeah I mean hell we barely got toddlers and pools at first. People really think you’re gonna go through a whole bunch of work to make different animations for height ?
That just sounds like another dlc that will cost way to much

They could make it into the game; options like: tall/normal/short height would be enough and satisfying and everyone would be happy.

I’m hyper mobile in my elbows and (if I can actually fall asleep [I have terrible sleep disorders and severe insomnia] ) I can fall asleep almost anywhere in almost any position, I’m quite flexible and I find it comfortable to sleep in some weird positions like on my stomach twisted in a way that my leg is over my shoulder😂I once fell asleep in a tree before and have been compared to a cat plenty of times lol

This mod actually shows the problems that Sims would have if they introduced height sliders. While it's irritating to have Sims all the same height, I understand the barriers, especially when it comes to Sims of different height interacting.

I think they could make some sort of slider, just with a smaller range of heights. They would just have to make different animations for the combinations

Oh, look. A feature that should have been in the original game. (Seriously, why are there no dwarf Sims?)
For the exact reason that is shown in the mod: major clipping/animation breaking issues. If the height could be adjusted, they would have to remake every single animation in the game to accommodate those additional heights.
not to mention if they add additional features, they have to make it available in every single height possible, which can be more than a dozen within the limit
It would help make the game more realistic, also, they're the developers, they already worked on the in-game models and animations, it would be a small problem for them to add more. (I think)
You expect a game developer that finally released toddlers 2 years after the game's initial release and scrapped out a lot of features from the previous games to do this?

I've had an idea for height differences for sims for a bit, but I feel like it's more something EA would have to do. Maybe have three different heights for young adults, adults and elders. Like he did in the video here but it's not a slider that is super customizable, more like 3 height options; tall, short and average, then make animations that cater to each height option. Like an animation for tall to short, tall to medium, and tall to tall, and then the same for every other height. I don't know how difficult it would be to animate since I know nothing about that topic, but thats just an idea I've had for a while. :/
Okay so let me get this straight, tall Sims are semi normal, normal height Sims are fine, but smaller Sims have more difficulty but are somehow unnaturally strong?.....Yeah that’s actually pretty realistic. (Seriously you do not want to mess with a short person.....they go for the knees...)

Btw this mod is really good, it gave male Sims more charming with tall height instead the same with female haha. Used this mod for long, interactions might be weird but still loving it.

The ONLY thing good for this is that teenagers can now look less like young adults, adults, and elders all at once. Elders could also be shorter since they begin to shrink as they get older.

Thanks for reviewing this mod, onlyabidoang. It's making me have second thoughts about pursuing it. It appears the height adjuster mod only ruins the animation. I know there are multiple different versions of the mod, but I don't think it's worth testing them all.

You know what could solve the whole sitting and sleeping issue for the shorter guys? If they swap their sleeping and sitting animations with the child animations. I'm not a programmer but it might work probably.

If you use the mod and make a sim short or tall enough, the head/face creation in CAS wouldn't zoom to their head - only where the head is "supposed to be."

You should also create height sliders for specific parts of the body like the torso for example.

The small Sim dancing with the dog is me and my dog, and he's already a pretty small for his breed
I am against the idea of sliders for height changing options. But, if EA put in height options where we select between 2 or 3 heights and adjusted the animations accordingly, we could get proper way to change heights in the Sims.
I'm guessing the reason why we don't have height sliders yet is because of these problems. They'd have to change the animation for every different height so it would look good and realistic. I do wish they would add it though because having teens as big as adults is just... Weird

Ok yes it does add more work but EA/The Sims are worth millions. They could definitely pull it off if they really wanted to. It's 5 years on and we've only just got given actual realistic stair options.. Doesn't seem fair that we fork out potentially hundreds for 1 game & don't have so many basic options
The short sim sleeping reminds me of how I sleep -- I yank the covers over my head like that. XD It's an interesting mod, but I think I'll skip it as I like my Sims to interact with each other, not the air. Shame, really.

what i dislike about the design of this the changr in skull size. humans have rooooughly the same skull size no matter height or at least not with this much difference. this mod makes the entire sim shrink, it doesnt make them shorter..
