I’m sure it’s been said, but Goggin’s character wasn’t a Vault-Tec employee. He was a celebrity TV or movie star who was a hired spokesman for the company.
I did eventually come to that realization when I saw him in the cowboy outfit
She literally says that in the vid, so yes, it's been said.

I see so many people who react to trailers and films and stuff with so many subscribers and yet their content is so very much below par and sub standard, and then there’s you with not that many subs but your personality & the way you talk during your videos is 1000% more genuine, I guarantee you you’ll get your big break video at some point because you’re actually really, really watchable, earned yourself a new sub ❤

The cars in this look to be in the style of the Fallout 1 Deuce Coupes (same bubble style wheel wells), which makes sense since they're in the West Coast. The guy who got splattered looks like the same guy she was talking to near the vault doors, whose body maybe also lying next to it unconscious or dead when the vault door is opened.

Those style cars are from FO 1 and 2. BGS retconed it a bit and made the atomic cars more plentiful in later games. You probably didn't notice the wrecks while playing 1&2. But in the lore by the time the war happened there was still many gas only 1950s style cars around. Great modern game example is the police cruiser in NV. Even FO4 conceded this with the red rocket GAS stations with GAS pumps.
I remember Bob’s Pre-Owned car mart from 1, and of course the Highwayman from 2. Those cars are definitely a little different than a classic 1950’s style car. They seem all around more aerodynamic and streamlined than the models shown in the trailer; similar style but I can’t really put my finger on any real world car maker that looked that way. Although, I don’t know much about classic cars either.
The only problem that zoinks me is that when the bombs dropped the lore said "for the people on the west coast they'd never see the sun rise" which is a lil sad considering that would've amplified how terrifying the bombs were
Between the teaser and the official trailer, I see some really promising character arcs developing. From the look of it, we don't get Lucy as a Mary Sue (hurray, I am so over that stupid trope), but more a journey from fish out of water to harden(ed/ing) survivor of the wasteland. I enjoyed your takes on this and I'm looking forward to your episode breakdowns. Like you, I've played an embarrassingly number of hours playing all of the games, and for a cinematic adaptation, I think Nolan and co. have done a remarkable job adhering to lore (so far as we've seen).
I think they have absolutely nailed the tone of the games. self aware and humorous, but not to a cringy Marvel movie level. I can’t wait!
Finally dammit! I real dedicated Fallout fan properly breaking this down! I can't tell you how much i am tired of all those casuals with millions subscriptions, sitting in their cozy studios making their careers of youtube views, while knowing nothing about content they are reacting to or being completely oblivious to it! It's such a breathe of fresh air to see a person, who actual understands what really good quality Fallout game is! Now that you mentioned you basically played them all (Even 76 i assume?) i'm curious to find out what is your order of preference? Aka how do you rank them?
thank you! I know what you mean, it can be hard to find people who really love the whole series. I might make a video ranking them at some point, I haven’t really thought about how I’d rank them honestly
2:56 I don't think he works for vault tech I think he's an actor Who was famous at the time You see him running in a cowboy outfit? As well as him on a TV in a cowboy outfit. Hes probably a TV cowboy Who is popular at the time and they used to to read the lines
yeah, I sort of came to that conclusion when seeing him in the cowboy outfit. pretty ironic gig for him to shoot a Vault-Tec ad as a one off, as opposed to FO4 salesman effectively dedicating his life to the company.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I love that there is a scene of him watching his movies/tv shows that he used to star in pre war.
The ship in the desert reminds m3 of the 'random encounters' in the early games.

The doctor injecting himself reminded me of Virgil from the teaser trailer. I think the glasses did it
I think "Wilzig" (the scientist) wasn't "Injecting" himself, I think he was using a *medical drill!* also note the contraption on his head which would be used to centre such a drill and keep it perfectly lined up (a syringe couldn't pierce the skull).
From a pic I've seen elsewhere he had a vial with a small glowing item...and the scene where you see Lucy on the ridgeline she has a head in her hand! And folk have been talking bout how the yellow bag keeps showing up...
So I think he used an *implant* of some kind and that's what folk want ;)

@@dbuttton I was also wondering whether he's like a ghoul with extreme longevity because...the perfect condition of the turret we see and other stuff
makes wonder if he did that BEFORE the bombs dropped and escaped an Enclave base? A "longevity" implant perhaps?
or perhaps it was the Navarro base post war but before it gets wrecked by the NCR after the oil rig is blown up? (which would have perfect condition items)

A lot of people think that Harold from fallout 1-3 is a ghoul, but he's actually an FEV mutant, and was on the same expedition with the person who would go on to become The Master
All that is to say it's totally possible that what we are seeing is the only perfected FEV serum
@@Pneubeteube Good point! :) But, ghouls seem to be related to the FEV virus :)
remember FEV came about because of a series of events beginning with a an outbreak that may or may not have been natural, that the proto-Enclave began experimenting with....
that eventually lead to creation of FEV
So I've always thought the Ghouls only made sense if it's a combination of FEV like effects plus genetics (there were other viruses, they were working on, FEV came form the Pan Immunity Virion)
I do have a speculation with the doctor injecting himself and the fact she was carrying a head with her for a scene. (1:19) It's just weird why she would carry a head around if it wasn't for that lol. And there are some other scenes from the reveal trailer where you can see a yellow bag with blood and look like the right size for a head to fit in there, but again, just speculation. I'm very excited about where they take this and can't wait 🙌

It wouldn't surprise me if all the drugs and chemicals the ghoul takes has slowed down the ghoulification.
Looking forward to the series. Hoping it will help bridge the gap some since another Fallout game is so far away.

Tactics is actually decent until the middle of the 3rd act then it goes off the rails. It's basically a XCOM in fallout type game. Really fun as long as you don't take it too serious as canon fallout. I'd suggest you give it a go if you like XCOM style games.

Anyone else think it might be possible that the doctor could be a synth cause the railroad was sending them out west and it shows him with his leg blown off also lucy carries around what could be a severed head if he's a synth who would still be alive and the bleed blood like humans
That was my first thought when I saw the trailer. But the FEV/ super mutant angle is intriguing.

I suspect the old cars being real cars, instead of Fallout cars, is some sort of product placement. If that is true, then those car companies have no idea what they signed up for, to be connected to pre-war Fallout corporations. 😂😂🤣🤣

There seems to be a whole lot of beardy white dudes on youtube reacting to this by complaining that one of the protagonists has way too much melanin and another is clearly not a dude.

Don't hate on 76, sure it started out awful, but it turned in to a uniquely fun game with a fantastic Fallout player community. I'm not an MMO person at all, but I've really come to cherish the friends I've made online in the Falout 76 community (through Discord) and there is something super cool about running around the wasteland with friends, that I will really in miss in future single player Fallout games.
I do agree with you there. It's the one Fallout game I can play with my fiance, and it's awesome that we can do that. I don't hate the game, but the gameplay itself is definitely the highlight of the experience rather than the story/writing. Not to mention performance issues lol
I think Vault 34 is connected to 33 and they have a wedding, (Lucy wears a white dress) when the experiment goes off, the farmland projector screen turns into a nuke dropping. Thus madness starts as 34 dwellers try killing the 33 ones.
that's a really interesting theory. I would love to see them tie in one of the in-game vaults to the show

The Director has just come out and said to a franchise that has sold over millions and millions of copies since fallout 1 “ I have not made this show for the fans and if they don’t like it so be it” and why release it all at once why not each week and maybe because they know what they have and don’t want the backlash every week. I hope not but it does not look promising with the comments.

What an intentionally inflammatory thing for a director to say. Makes me think he's just trying to get fans to watch, expecting to hate it, and then it turn out to be made just for fans and they fall in love. Considering many fans of the game worked on the show, surely it can't be that bad...

they totally are, but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to represent what the G.E.C.K. can create for those who opt into the vault program

Why do people wear facemasks in their profile picture? It’s weird. Why wouldn’t you show your face in a profile picture? Or is it just about signalling to other people that you’re the sort of person who wears facemasks?… weird.
it’s a picture that was taken by my brother while about 20,000 feet in the air on top of a mountain where it was about 30° with 20mph wind gusts; my face was cold. it was also taken in 2020 when masks were mandated.
those were some great hypotheses though 🤙
