Little bit of a mid episode, I'm not saying it's bad, I dont think there is a bad episode in the series. Do have some good story elements in it, though.

I liked how the scene of cooper and his wife shows her ability to lie and sell something. The lavender taffy is disgusting but she sells it. It’s flirting and banter but it’s also character exposition for barb. This show didn’t waste anything even in this shorter episode.

Gotta give you props for your take that Cooper was playing with Max in the armor because Cooper recognized that he was green. I never thought about it like that, instead I was thinking it was a plot hole since in the last episode we see another important part of Cooper's knowledge about the power armor. But your take makes sense now that I think about it.

I think the clip of the mouse could be a part of the Vault-Tec educational video for the Overseers, showcasing the dangers of overpopulation or the loss of control over their own people in a typical Vault-Tec cynical manner. Also, it helps people who are not familiar with the games understand how Vault-Tec treated the vault dwellers

The scene where Lucy drinks from that radiated water, the ghoul after the fact fills his canteen with the same water. I think thats to show Lucy why he didnt share with her the first time she asked. At that time Lucy probably thought that there was clean water in that canteen. It feels like the ghoul teaches Lucy and not THAT much of an asshole but he probably enjoys the process a little too much :D

Cooper did say in an interview that they intentionally made him more human like for him to be able to be more expressive so while he i think IS special(200 years and sane!), his "more human like face" is not because of that. They even said that the first iteration of his ghoul face was waay more scary :D

That was an excellent recap, really enjoyed hearing your thoughts about this! I haven't played any Fallout for years after finishing 4 back in 2019 or so, but after watching the show it's really made me want to do some of them again, this time properly modded to enrich the experience. Now moving onto your episode 2 recap!

*Spoilers* I don't think the bombs & thumb thing is actually "canon" in the tv series, i think that was just something Cooper told Janey because it was something she could understand. It seemed better to say that rather than attempting to explain all the behind-the-scenes stuff we see later that let to him being practically hated for being associated with Vault-Tec. It's like when parents split and they tell their kids they "just grew apart" rather than give the full truth because it's usually either not good or too complex for them.

The communication for the picture was suppose to be unsecured. In episode 2 the Ghoul said that a bounty, more likely sent by the Enclave, was sent to all 6 agencies for Wilzig. So the Brotherhood just tapped into that unsecured communication. It was not a military communication. They more likely were listening to every major communication to see what is going on outside of their barracks.

"Communism is just a red herring" - Clue: the movie. This is true. Back in the 50s, if you have an issue with some guy, you call the authorities and say that he has Communist ideas.

There are mountain ranges in California that have snow on them even in the Los Angeles area. We can only assume that Wilzig walked only a day away but he could have walked for many days. If the Enclave, Brotherhood and NCR were only a day or two of each other then they would be way too close to each other. As for ship questions, there have been ships who have been abandoned, ran aground and the beaches expanded around it. The ship in the scene really does exit. It is the wreck of the Eduard Bohlen which is in Namibia where they filmed some of the scenes.

You're right. I think they missed an opportunity by not blinding Janey. More accurate, more dramatic, and has plenty of story potential.

Regarding sea levels, I think the ship is an actual wreck on the coast of Africa based on some stuff they've talked about in interviews. Apparently they filmed on it but cut that part.

Funny that the junk jet is too dorky for me to use myself, but when the doll foot embedded itself in the guy's chest I was so happy anyway!

I don’t believe it is a change in game lore when The Ghoul is shot. I believe The Ghoul was shot two or three times, but by a pipe rifle, which does very little damage. It can be explained. Of course, we don’t know which perks The Ghoul possesses. He may have a high damage resistance, he may possess the Solar Powered perk, so perhaps he can heal, & let’s be honest he probably has the Lone Wanderer perk, which increases resistance. Also, The Ghoul is an incredible shot because he may be using VATS. I believe that I why everything slows down & why he can target certain body parts. Overall, great review.

as someone who knows ZERO THINGS about fallout, watching your recap was fun. im so dedass when i say that i really just *vaguely* knew it was a game. ive "heard" of it, but have never seen, watched or played anything relating to it. A Game. thats all i knew lmao. and im "old", i just looked up when first game came out and i was 6 at the time lol. but seeing you be so excited about it and how many times youve watched through the show and the little details i know nothing about but you love, made me smile so much! i LOVE how much you love it! it brings me jOY! idk if ill watch the show myself, my friend whos watching it (who also knew nothing about its lore until now), says it is Not For Me lol. im not a gore typa gal lmao.

The first season was amazing, I'm so glad this show did not flop. From the way they did the music, acting, and even the gun play like slowing down like how VATS work was absolutely amazing. Can't wait for season 2. I watched the first episode at the "watch party," which was an amazing idea on their part bringing all the fans to reaction with each other during the show was sick. Felt surreal drinking a Nuka Victory and watching the show loll... also my speculation with the head being correct was amazing also 😎

2:45 resin is not nearly as rare as you think. You need far greater amounts of just plain wood, to turn to charcoal, for smelting every type of advanced metal…as a byproduct you end up with lots of resin. 5:32 if you need shroud liquid, don’t bother chopping down the medium or large mushrooms, you can just strait up loot the small and tiny mushrooms and get 1-2 liquid each. Save time and axe durability. 9:36 if you break apart some junk you might find scrap metal and you can make the lock picks in the field. 10:53 that is one way to do it, but there is a lever up above that opened it. 11:43 on no…I would advise you to go back to the alchemist tower. In that village at the base of the tower there is a graveyard, you can dig up an awesome mid level sword from one of the graves…that note you missed when you looted the chest that gave you the purple bow I think gives you the quest to find the sword. Hailscourge I think? 13:55 and you haven’t upgraded that purple bow yet. It will be even better then. 18:19 torches do like x10 damage to bees for some reason. No matter the level of the bees, 1-2 hits. Maybe 3 tops. 22:01 not wrong, it’s just a weak node. It is copper. Just find a more abundant source. 23:52 explosives, unless using explosive arrows with an archer build, are lackluster in combat. I find using them to clear rubble or debris for pathfinding or making new doorways the best use for explosives in this game. 30:55 ah, your first poison berserker. Apparently that is what happens when you get addicted to the elixir…according to the lore. 35:28 you can find a lot of stuff in the urns and jars in those temples too. Final note: If you are planning on staying melee, don’t overlook the Combat healing and earth aura skills the bottom of the skill tree. They are game changers when it comes to solo survival.
