Hey Jimmy.
We'll always watch the similar fixes. That way people will get the messages that your future customers won't get skinned by main dealers and bodgers and bash it mechanics.
You're a legend. 👍💯
its amazingly generous that you share your experience, i am addicted to the vag dpf app now !
Love watching your videos Jimmy. In your video You keep mensioning about toping up adblue in your tanks. But personally I don't think you should be doing that and should drain it all away and put fresh adblue every year when serviced and putting wynns additive as wel to stop it crystaling . Or am I wrong saying this it would be great if you could do a video on your thoughts on this issue. As lot of people are getting confused on this . Keep up with the great videos
Every mechanic should be watching your videos on the 15-20 most common faults. The lack of knowledge among some seems to be alarming.
Will never get tiered or bored with your videos would be nice to share rough cost for some jobs👍
Thanks 👍
Tank off to landfill along with multiple empty adblue containers. And they say this is to stop pollution? I will stick with my non dpf diesel 😊
Euro 5 is fine.
I agree. It's a shame we have people that know nothing about car mechanics, such as Sadiq Khan in positions of power.
Resulting in the pragmatic solution for millions of car owners being a Euro 6. Or a petrol.
Cost of tank was £1200 fitted a few years ago. Citroen acknowledged a fault (eventually and implicitly) with the design & I got it done for £600. I think fault was the pump electronics being strained by a faulty vent cap! Good video and only cure is a whole new tank with pump.
No, you can repair the printed circuit board. About £45 plus an hour Labour for refitting.
@@paulnolan1352 Do you know of a company that offers this service? Or is it a DIY thing? Mine went on my Peugeot 508 and I have a faulty pump in the garage that I could have repaired as a spare. Thanks Jon
@@jonsayce7756 I’ll have a look for the address. They fixed a Circuit Board for me and it was way cheaper than a new Board.
@@paulnolan1352 Thanks, price of new tanks is just silly!
Most likely the pressure sensor inside the adblue tank. This sensor is moulded to the inside of the tank and cannot be replaced without cutting the tank apart - The solution is to fit an external pressure sensor instead in the line going to the adblue injector. It's a basic 3 wire sensor that can be easily sourced and wired in, you can even buy the correct multiplug to fit the plug on the harness. This one sensor is responsible for the majority of all adblue tank failures on most PSA vehicles it seems. Had this problem with a mate's Relay van and his Berlingo.
Great job, never get bored of you sharing your knowledge 👍
A mate's E220 CDI just had this code. The good thing about Mercs is that most of the adblue tank parts seem to be serviceable, so you don't have to drop €1300+ on a whole sealed tank (or maybe €700 on a used one). People always say Mercs are the money pits, but at least for this issue, they're not.
Look at that, filling up a consumable tank without having to get the car up in the air 😂 they got there in the end.
My tank failed recently at 92,000 miles. I was quoted £1400 from the dealer. I got a new tank from a ebay seller for £610 and reset the fault with diabox. I was tempted to swap the pump with a used one, however the urea temp was reading 0 Celsius, which i believe a senor in the tank had failed too. Quantity of fluid was working, so it was doing something. I might have been wrong and a cheaper fix might have been possible, but the car is running again. Also the swapping of the pump might have been a non starter, all the screws where rusted and only one could be undone. Using Wynns going forward now
Well done Jimmy!!
My Dad has a C3 that had a stuck open adblue injector, we put a new injector on and coded it with diagbox. 6 months later now he's getting codes for adblue pressure from the tank. These adblue systems are just a nightmare, and expensive. Just wonder if the stuck open injector put strain on the pump and shortened its life span as it was chucking all the adblue fluid out the exhaust with that faulty injector stuck open.
Be good if you could give some idea re the price of the various parts. stealership or otherwise🤔. Keep up the good work 🙂😢
Nothing like telling every copy cat business out there, what your costs are 😉
@@hughmarcus1 since when are published prices a secret ? 🙄
I always wondered why AutoTrader has loads of these for sale cheap. Now I know. 🙄
One thing I have learned watching your clips is not to buy any of these cars and keep my 22 year old Merc diesel going until I can no longer drive a car.
The price of that tank is horrendous 😧
i have a question, When my cars fuel tank is below a 3rd of a tank of fuel i get a rough idle at tick over and sometimes it will throw an eml service vehicle soon message and a limp mode. But it the fuel is above a 3rd of a tank i don't get any of these symptoms or messages. Any idea what it might be as i first thought it might be the injector as that was the code it was throwing P0301 (misfire cylinder 1)
Thanks in advance for any reply.
👍
Enjoy your weekend
