One of the most special places I have ever visited. Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on all the monks, bless this chapel , and pour out your grace on this humble community.
When I wake up and begin my day I read the monastery books, bless my home with Jerusalem incense, and start my devotional. I feel so blessed that there is a place where I can find peace, solitude and divine enlightenment. I cannot wait until the new church is completed. What a blessing for Appalachia. As a 20 plus year Bible Institute student, Orthodoxy is highly regarded and I love to learn about Orthodoxy in my classes. Glory to God!
I was blessed to spend a few days there just a couple weeks ago. I pray that construction of the new Church continues without any major obstacles. 🙏🏻 ☦️
Glory be to God! May my people, weary by the world, find Orthodoxy, their true home. May my appalachian brothers and sisters find themselves and their race baptized in Christ. May their suffering and abandonment be assuaged through the grace of our Holy Father. May we repent and find peace within the walls of heaven on earth. Glory be to God in the highest! Christ is in our midst! ☦️ May the Lord bless all of you.
This is so lovely. Everything about it. This video itself is a blessing. Yes, that IS a once-in-a-lifetime job.. As beautiful as this new church will be, i do hope that occasionally those gentle and quiet services in the church being used now will be continued from time to time. There is something special there..
Our current church will remain a church, even once the new temple is built. We don't have a clear idea yet of how it will fit into our liturgical schedule, but there will still be services in our current church. The decades of services there have made it a special place for us.
I'm going through RCIA to be catholic right now and i know the faiths have grown apart but I pray for unity. The catholic church should take a lesson from the orthodox in things like this, it would begin to heal the west.
@danielcowles7496, the unity is already, in, through, and by the grace of the Risen One. And, as someone has observed, ‘Wherever we see the Word of God purely preached and heard, there a church of God exists, even if it swarms with many faults.’ Not just hear the Word - kerygma - but see - tektonos (let the reader understand), even new houses of worship.

The craftsmanship is exquisite. I could stare at that ceiling all day long and be perfectly happy.

Thanks Gary, please remember us in your prayers!
I hope that when I am old enough that I shall travel and join this beautiful monastery

I was blessed by God to go on pilgrimage here with my parish this year. The fathers here exude the love of Christ.
