Nice to see the horses. I am a lapsed catholic convert, need to get things set right. I live alone in a tiny home and farm and log with draft horses, my Gentle Giants. I do a lot of thinking about things, and this video also gives me much to ponder. If I lived close by I would volunteer my horses and my time to help them with the farming side. If the sisters could say a little prayer for me I would appreciate it.
7:02 "I kept appealing to the architects that not just the obvious places should be beautiful. I want the janitor's room to be beautiful" is such a knowing and deep comment exemplifying this project.
Bless you oh my precious Sisters!! So remarkable! Building this great Convent is a symbol of your wonderful gift to the world. Bless you a million times over!
I was thinking only the other day how I wish more people were building with love, faith and devotion as their guides, rather than money, convenience and greed. How wonderful places would look. Then I found this by chance today. God bless all involved. I would love to visit one day. 🙏🏻
This project has touched my heart! I am a new catholic convert and I say yes to building a catholic structure that will last many lifetimes - Truth goodness and beauty in a building! I am in tears, but of joy, to see something like this being built in a chaotic world! God bless the Carmelite sisters! Santa Teresa de Avila las guía desde el cielo!
The concept that buildings can be some of the best teachers has really been lost in our times. I love all you women so much! I am coming to PA soon, with construction experience, maybe I can get involved with the builders?!
I love this! 💗 May God bless your ‘determined determination’ in the spirit of our holy mother St Teresa 🙏 May our glorious St Joseph guard your project 🙏
Seeing this brought me near to tears and moved my heart to turn back to serving the Lord with my life. Thank you, Mothers and Sisters, for all that you're doing, and may God love you
The power of whole-hearted, loving dedication to serving Jesus, to be being clear in one's divine purpose, persistent in carrying it out, and the power of architecture and sacred labor, all that and more demonstrated here. The nuns prayerful, loving focus of pray creates the chalice for the Lord to express and reach out far beyond them. Beautiful.
St. Paul: "I have planted, Apollo watered, but God gave the increase. Therefore, neither he that planteth is any thing, nor he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth, and he that watereth, are one. And every man shall receive his own reward, according to his own labour. For we are God's coadjutors: you are God's husbandry; you are God's building. According to the grace of God that is given to me, as a wise architect, I have laid the foundation; and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation no man can lay, but that which is laid; which is Christ Jesus." (I Cor. 3:6-11).
We tend to forget how the sacred spaces change us... that is why many of our catholic spaces have turned utilitarian and ugly and frankly, even disposable. Beauty and authenticity should be everywhere, not just in a chapel. I love this sacred geography!! :)
I have made donations to the Carmelite sister’s project, and plan to continue sending funds to assist with their effort. I had the opportunity to visit in Sept 2023, and I can assure you that what they have set out to do, and what they have accomplished is impressive indeed.
They are very lucky to being called and chosen to be brides of Jesus in Heaven. I were born under Bad star, but I do the best I could to be lowly servant of people, So help me, God.
So, at this moment in history, we have artificial intelligence, quantum computers, CRISPER Gene-Editing, the James Webb Space Telescope, etc...; but we can no longer construct a Monastery building from stone?! 😂 Thank you, blessed Sistets, firstly, for having sacrificed your lives for Christ and His Mystical Body; and secondly, for your steadfast dedication to constructing a true Monastery, made only of stone and wood - to serve as both a sign of, and inspiration toward, that spiritual stability that comes from a life of prayer and work, in the silent, hidden life of the cloister. God Bless You!!!❤
I have a question 😢 I’m looking for sister Bertrune the stigmatized nun. My husband was granted permission to to visit sister years ago , please is sister still alive I would pray for her and her holy sisters . I need her to pray for me . I am going back to the third order of st Francis. After many years 😂 . If alive I would be grateful to visit her if she has passed I can still talk with her . In the name of Jesus yours Ann Pia Victoria , Maria Santopietro . Marriage name Roaix.
This video expresses well the universal relationship between architecture and the quality of life of the humans who occupy it. Unfortunately, that genius then seems to turn immediately into a Pennsylvania Dutch/Amish way of life. Nice enough, for sure, but does not speak to most of us today. (But I'll bet those Pennsylvania Dutch/Amish nuns have exchanged horses and buggies for modern vehicles.)

Amen! Bless you.
The world is pretty crazy right now, and it's lovely to hear these sisters speak of beauty, and building to last a thousand years.
God bless the Fairfield Carmelites.
This is the best video I’ve seen on the internet this year.
May God reward the Carmelites and their monastery that will last a thousand years!
It is inspiring to watch the sister's live out an authentic Carmelite-Monastic life and witness to Christ.
This is how I wish we would go back to building our homes as well. I hope this inspires more return to authenticity, durability, beauty in the details
To think.....these formidable monasteries littered the countryside of Europe for centuries....

God bless you Father! I hope you are doing well. I 've learned about you, and Sister from Polish hermit s. Bruna of Maria. God is great.
His testimony at 5:00 brought me to tears
Absolutely based

Can anyone point me to a tutorial showing how to build this way, so others may follow?
what wood is used to create the windows and doors so they last many years as well?

Sadly ours in New Orleans lasted 100 years and built a little city

may i ask - does anyone know who made this film? gorgeous work
Yes, we worked with Spirit Juice out of Chicago. They're an amazing Catholic film company and we are so grateful for their help.

song? 👀
website down?
it is, unfortunately. We are trying to fix it!
Hopefully Francis Bergoglio won't cancel the convent! 🤞🙏
Have some faith in the Jesus’ Catholic Church and the Vicar of Christ!
@@BullSheeper The true Catholic Church of Jesus Christ is eclipsed by the conciliar sect whose head is Frank Bergoglio, a notorius homoheretic!
Very sad. Once they have less than 7 sisters...
The CATHOLIC CHURCH FAILED THE FAITHFUL IN COVID AND THEY LOST THEM
@mattfradd this reminds me of your plans for the Church dedicated to our Blessed Mother. @pintswithaquinas
