I don't know, even after she came out they stayed together and had 4 children together, it sounds to me like they actually loved each other. It's more likely that two people loved each other than one being a predator, loving couples are far more common than predators, his actions were questionable due to her age, but if he was a pedo, he would of lost interest the day she became, and looked as a women, also if she was doing something that she questioned, she wouldn't of hid the fact that they were having sex when she was underage, this fact was obviously never divulged because Scott was never charged for it.

But that clearly wasn't enough. But that wasn't her mum's fault either. Listen to the last 10minutes of her interview and you will know 90% of what's wrong with australia. If he did it today, Scott would be guilty of child abduction under section 363A of the Queensland Criminal Code:
363A Abduction of child under 16

Thanks doc for another thoughtful analysis. I would like to direct you to a disturbing case out of the western suburbs in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Last week, a mother and her 3 year old boy were leaving a grocery store when a woman approached them and stabbed them. She was a complete stranger. The mother was stabbed once and recovered. The boy was stabbed in the face and back and died the next day. I work with the courts in Cleveland and the case is pretty big here. It is also coming to light that the assailant likely had a documented mental health history and despite being supposedly ordered to a mental health evaluation, a judge released her without the evaluation being done. Then she committed this offense several days later. There are other goings-on that indicate she may have committed a similar offense out of state. The woman has been behaving in an odd manner in court, and many people think she is "faking" mental illness. We'll see what happens- but I would love it if you could look at the case, and perhaps talk about how someone can have legitimate mental illness, AND in many cases, still understand right from wrong. I have no idea if that's the case for this woman, but I know people are forming their opinions already as we're apt to do these days. Anyway, thanks again! I always look forward to your thoughts!

He should have been charged with statutory rape at a minimum and kidnapping by verbally mind fucking her and using her parents divorce and her dislike for school to lure her into voluntary captivity! The fact that he was ok with hiding her in his home says a lot, says he knew it was socially unacceptable for him to be with a 14 year old and showed he was ashamed ! She was a 14 year old girl - if everything was going great at home she never would have run away - obviously! I guess there were major problems going on in the family home (abuse of some sort) which made her want to run away. And the interviewer on 60 minutes blamed Natasha, which is deplorable in my mind! One thing I felt was overlooked in the discussion was regarding the fact that she committed suicide at the end of her life. Clearly, she suffered mental health issues throughout her life. Specifically what I’m referring to is the fact that she seemingly had her life completely pulled together with what would be a wonderful job as far as pay and benefits being aradiology nurse. That is a very professional and highly paid field. So, suicide is in congruous with what appeared to be her lifestyle which leads me to believe she suffered depression throughout her life.
