Carnitas on the Blackstone Griddle and InstantPot

- Carnitas is one my favorite dishes are one of our local places. It's crispy, fatty, and delicious to make, though it does take some time and effort to make, but I assure you, you will be rewarded! Cooked in the Instant Pot first then crisped up on the Blackstone griddle, it was a perfect combination.
I saw @JKenjiLopezAlt make his version of Pork Carnitas and I wanted to try them myself (though some slight modifications). Thank you Kenji for the inspiration and awesome content.

LOL..."he knew at this moment"...Nice cook, Hussey
Carnitas look amazing ! You made enough to feed an Army ! Never turn your back on a ring light, they’ll get ya every time ! Beautiful dish Hussey!
Rough in the streets … good night in the morning 🔥🤟🏽🌮🤤 good groceries!!!!

WOW...looks amazing, can't wait to try it! 🌮
That looks amazing. Thank You
WOW Matthew, that's one of the best things that I have seen you make!! My next meal for sure. (Kudos to Kenji too). Thank you.
Dang, that looks awesome! I can never resist carnitas, and I love pickled onions👍 Your salsa verde looks delicious😊
Man, all of that looked like some amazing groceries! Salsa verde looked bomb. I like throwing some avocado in there sometimes. Great vid
Looks absolutely delicious Matthew!!! The pork came out so juicy and tender! Great job! 🌞👏
"Gonna be eating tacos forever...". Ok, now you're just teasing me, Hussey! 🤣 That looked so darn tasty. I love it that you like and follow Kenji. He's so boss! Thanks very much for a wonderful video, Matthew. Have a great week!
That looks great will have to give it a try. Also I just ordered the Dalstrong Knives you talked me into it. Thanks for the great videos.
Loved your recipe, awesome carnitas tacos and thanks for sharing!
love your channel, great ideas delivered in a great way. i'm gonna hit those pickled onions tomorrow......thanks for the content!
YES!!!!
Great video as alway! Absolutely love carnitas! And of course pickled red onions are always a hit! We really like them with brisket!
Instapot lid is like a USB cord. I never put it on right the first time. Great vid, brother
haha.. that's for sure!
Man, Hussy, that does look awesome. Definitely going to do this. Great show, brother!
Great looking snack.😁
Love it!!!!! I need to try this
I really liked the pickled onions !
Man that looks so good
You’re invited to the carne asada
Ya can't beat pork tacos.
Good video my friend , this dish looks like it belongs in a fine resturant , you knocked this one right out of Yankee stadium. THANK you Frank from montana...
Looks amazing brother
I made pickled red onions last weekend and just love them. I used apple cider vinegar for mine. Great video as always keep up the good work.
I'm trying that!!!
Next time make them the traditional way. Deep fried in Lard. Nothing beats the authentic mexican way. After all they did originate in Mexico. It takes more time, but trust me they are well worth the wait. Make Tortas and you will never go back to pressure cooking them. You’ll be saying “Now those are some damn good groceries”
Made Carnitas never had them b4 wish I did bcuz they were delish!! But nothing to compare them to!! Everything I’ve made of your videos have come out great !! You’re awesome enjoy learning & watching you !! Love ur knifes too!! Have a great day! See you soon!!
Your the man
Naw man. Just a guy. Appreciate your support.
This one took a little bit of work, but my oh my Mr Hussey, you hit it out of the park!!! Dang it! Thats some fine groceries!!

You wasn’t the only one salivating
👍🏽🍽
When is your mexican joint opening up? Señor Hussey's !
Well... Despite of the wind not wanting to cooperate... You made a good video! Very much enjoyed it! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it Morey!
Looks real good 👌. Only thing id recommend is using the smaller tortillas brother, it just makes it taste better . I can’t explain it lol it just does
Good morning Hussey!. Cutting those slices off the butt is what we call pork steaks in st louis
Great video i love making carnitas what i do is smoke it on my traeger for 4 hrs then finish it off in the instant pot then i put it under the broiler for 5 min always turns out amazing also im the same way when it comes to tortillas it always depends on my mood good job i bet it was amazing
Really wanted to give it some smoke, however time wasn't on my side this go around.
Now that’s some good groceries 😋 try it with some Mexican coke next time 🤙🏽
Enjoyed the video. I get so fixated on your cooking 🧑🍳 I keep forgetting to tell you that you must have a nice home there. How about showing your cooking area and some of the back yard and house. Like the knifes also. Keep up the good work and God bless. Be safe my friend.
Very very good video Baby Girl !
mmm
Thank you!
@@thehungryhussey welcome ide love to make this soon when weather permits
a plus
Awesome cook…. Looks fantastic. I will be trying these for sure. Did you dip the flour tortilla in water also? Great video!
That looks delicious. I just found something that I made with fish, that would pair great with that. Look up Avocado Lime slaw. That stuff is the truth. That also makes a good salad dressing. Also a corn salsa as another side mmmm.
Sounds great!
I ate carnitas at Moe's Southwest Grill and the pork had a taste I couldn't immediately identify but I loved it. Realized not long afterward that the flavor was cinnamon. You should try a little cinnamon in your pork.
Cinnamon is popular with Latino style cooking and I bet it would have been great too!
Smooching the carnitas?!?!??!? Never have I heard of that!!!
Did I say Smooching? haha/
Huss-dawg!!
Carnitas are looking good!!
Salsa verde is the way to go.
All in all, a very tasty dish!!
Saw a little bit of Maggie. Did she get some of that pork?
Did you eat some tacos while you watched the Tar Heels?
Have a good week.

Love the videos & learning a lot! For the carnitas in Instapot: only oil? No water at all?
Hey Hussey 👋 you know I LOVE your show and I WON A DELSTRONG SHOWGUN SERIES CHEFS KNIFE FROM THE GRIDDLE GUYS LOVE THEM AND DELSTRONG SO SHARP BEAUTIFUL KNIFES GREAT COMPANY 👍❤ O there costumer service is Beyond Great 👍 looks so Yummy Yummy 😋
I would have done the browning on the Blackstone
Certainly could.
Matthew! I thought your name was Hungry? Dang it boy, keep cookin.
Great video. I got a pork butt in the freezer calling tacos
Browning on sauté mode with that big Blackstone behind you? I’m making these today but I’m going to go Blackstone, instant pot, Blackstone.
Got a off topic question I’m traveling and where I’m at is dusty so I haven’t oiled up my black stone 2 burner portable how do I keep from it getting dusty thanks
GOOD MORNING
Hello from Germany🤜🤛. Cool🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍. Ps. Do you also cook in Dutch
Oven? I have a lot of Dutch Oven🥘🔥👍 recipes and more will be shown.
Recipes - from regions of Germany, Russia and Asia. Greetings Waldi🤝🍻👍
I have three DOs and cook in them regularly. I would be interested in some of those recipes if you wanted to send a few to my email or to Facebook?
@@thehungryhussey I have all of the recipes here on UA-cam
Hussy, I just noticed your blackstone where you push all your garbage to the scrap bin at the back of the blackstone looks like you have some sort of stopper there… is that somethjng you made or somethjng you bought specifically for that?
That was a made item a subscriber made for me. Blackstone sells them now too.
Do you remove the oranges when meat is finished in the instant pot
I did remove.
So, no taco seasoning? I guess I thought all Mexican food needed taco seasoning? Job well done! 😘🖖🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
Some items are used I guess haha
Could you have used the Blackstone to cook the carnitas instead of the Instapot?
Possibly, in a pan, but you could.
Could have dipped the tortillas into the cooking liquid from the meat
Could have. Missed opportunity!
Black South Survival sent me👍
Thanks for coming over and checking out the channel! Appreciate that!
Question, where did he mention to check me out? I’d like to thank him.
@@thehungryhussey I believe it was yesterday's video he posted on his UA-cam channel. He told his subscribers to check you out. He said you were really good cooking on that flat top👍
@The Hungry Hussey Not a problem. I've thought about buying one of those propane griddle's .
@@briangreen256 they’re really great to cook on and a lot of fun. Have any questions, DM me and I’d be happy to help!
Awesomeness ❗ ❗
This is great video, 💥QUESTION 💥
what size is your instant pot 6 qt 8qt 10 qt.?? I'm really interested to buy me one just don't know what size will be best.
That's an 8 qt my friend.
Do Huli Huli chicken on the Blackstone!!!!!!!!!
I feel like I'll need to do a dance with that one too!
@@thehungryhussey it’s something that hasn’t been done yet!!!!! Be great
Sorry to bother you again but do you prefer the six inch chef knife or the eight inch?
No bother my friend. I like a 6” personally
@@thehungryhussey ok thanks
Blackstone literally in front of him and he flips everything ...with his hand
I don't always do things the right way. Haha..
YOOOOOOOOOOO HH!! I got that instant pot as well.....it makes a pretty mean bbq pulled pork sliders as well! I find it so weird how many people mispronounce that pot. Its NOT INSTAPOT...its INSTANT POT.
Chill Jeffrey it’s not that critical
@@drewshirack8212 Oh yes it is.
Next time skip the oil and use lard 👍
Next time dip those tortillas in the pork drippings instead of water!!
You're 100% right. I missed an opportunity that was right in front of me.
Not what I was expecting for Cooking Carnitas. In my house, we Crockpot Pork Shoulder for 12 hours. The bone falls out and the Fat adds Flavor to the meat. Then Shred it, Fry it up in its juices and make a sauce with the Fat & Juice Rendering.
Like with anything, there's different ways for sure!
Most definitely, Learning new ways may/not improve the flavor, may/not save you time, but your learn
Okay i have hope because he's from Texas being that he says yall just assuming here. But Dios help me if he doesn't use any chilies
Nope nope he said jalapeños im loosing hope
No Texas here my friend. I'm in central NC.
I love your videos. Period. But I agree with the double dipping spoon dig. Plus you were stirring the pork in the pot with your hands and then pinched the salt with your fingers twice. Better dump that salt out and wash the container. Sorry but I just watched Poison on Netflix.
I re watched and have no clue what you mean. 😂
I stirred with tongs and then seasoned. I washed my hands (or probably re gloved after slicing the pork. So the salt comment, I don’t get.
What a bizarre, little guy!
Been following for a while but I think I'm gonna stop following, not here to or want to hear him advertising
Hello. I respect your thoughts, but what exactly didn’t you care for?
Hey Padre guy. I'm a Padre fan from SD and it disappoints me to see you say this. Don't you realize the Hussey needs to get his hustle on bro? You think it's cheap, easy, and quick to produce these videos? Might as well get paid like all the other TV chefs. I admire what he's doing. Everyone else is doing it now so don't get all crazy about it. Besides the products he's pushing are things he personally loves so maybe he's also trying to share something to you. I have a Blackstone and Dalstrong knives. Great products that I tell my peeps about and don't get any kickbacks. Just my thoughts buddy. Go Padres!!!
@@thehungryhussey enjoyed your cooking as stated I don't want to see advertisement every other word
I too have a Blackstone and I take very good care of it I don't even leave it outside after use and cleaning and would often get tips but I just don't care about the advertisement I'm sorry
Need a little brush up on you Spanish….lol, great video!
😂 A little country doesn’t help pronouncing things. 😂
You used the same spoon to taste the salsa after tasting the salsa. Then used the same spoon to stir it up. Shame on you.
Probably did... Cool tip, no one else ate that salsa, but me.
