Great video!!! Very informative. When I started on the griddle, I made soooo many mistakes. I made so many, the wildlife started setting up a picnic area in my yard. 😂😂😂. Play off the mistakes and you’ll get it!!! And whatever you do, don’t get discourage. I just look in my yard and say “whose showing up tonight?” Meaning wildlife. 😂😂😂 thank you for the info!!👍👍👍
Lol... I'm sure you're doing a great job! Mistakes that are made is a learning moment, always!
Great tips Hussey! You are one chill cat. Id like to add a few essentials. Paper towel, paper towel, paper towel, paper towel. Rubber gloves with cotton gloves underneath. With the high speed nature of flat top cooking sometimes your hands are waay more efficient than any cooking tool. And lastly, a giant garbage can right next to your table!
Great tips there too my friend!
Great video! I've been using my Blackstone for 3 years now, and I use it A LOT, and you have been a huge inspiration. This video didn't teach me anything I didn't already know, but it definitely was a good reminder of things I don't alway think about before/during a cook! Sometimes it's good to be reminded, helps keep important things in the front of your mind! Thanks again for another great video!!
Rock on!
Hate you didn't learn anything. This was mostly for the new folks, but not necessarily to them, as some folks could get something from it.
@@thehungryhussey don't worry Brother, I learn plenty from you on the regular! Many of your videos have become favorite meals in my house! Like I said, this video was great reminders for those of us who are seasoned cooks, and great learning tips for those who are relatively new!
This should be the first video every new owner of a Blackstone should watch after learning how to season their new griddle top.
Thank you Damian!
Excellent tips Hussey. Thanks.
A lot of great information Matthew I’ve probably watched this same video 25 times lol thanks again brother!
You’re welcome buddy! Thanks for the kind words and support!
Thanks Matthew. All the help is appreciated.
Thank you bud!
Excellent video. Thank you. Love your channel.

Alot of folk will definitely benefit from this video. Alot of these tips I learned from trial & error and just working it. That's what I like about cooking and griddlin, the ability of making it your own. Have a great weekend and GRIDDLE ON DUDE.
Great informative video, bought my Blackstone after watching a video of you 2 years ago! Keep up on all the great things you are doing

Glad you found some good in it.
That was very helpful. Thank you.
I’ve had a Blackstone for almost ten years now. Learned from you today! Appreciate it!
Thanks for stopping by my friend!
Just started cooking on a Blackstone and really appreciate your tips and tricks video! Love your "down home" recipes and my first cooks were your chopped cheese sandwich and 'tater pancakes. Wow, what a treat and made the investment in the griddle worth it!! Best sandwich ever and my next will be the smash burgers. Thanks for the lesson and keep up the good work!
Thank you so much, Vic!
Thanks for this video! Very good info and I’ll use these tips this evening when I’m cooking dinner on the Blackstone.
Glad you enjoyed Hoss!
Great video sir! The absolute best advice is temperature of the various proteins. That has helped my entire cooking game out tremendously. Insta read thermometer is the only way to go in my opinion. Great job.
Thank you my friend!
Great tips Matt! Always love your video's!! Blessings!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much!

Cooking on the griddle is my new hobby - my family is thrilled and they definitely thank you!! I have several friends hooked on your Greek Chicken meal - I make it weekly 😁

Nice I saved the video because of you and the alligator man I bought a 22" blackstone griddle waiting for dawn power spray to get here 😀 so I can started. I binge watch both your videos thanks 😊

You are so welcome!
Thanks for the great tips !!
Hey Matt, another stellar video!! Lots of good info! I got my 17" griddle last summer for my RV after catching a few of your videos... Then I had to get one for Home on the deck! I appreciate your "friends cut off list" LOL. Go stand over in the corner of the deck, while I burn your steak!!! Ugghh!! This was a nice concise guide to lots of information you have provided in many previous videos, but it's all in one place!!! Excellent!! Thank you from Canada!! (FYI: I have even used my griddle in the heart of our cold winter, at -20C, which isn't that far from where our thermometers meet on the low end!!(-40C or F) That was interesting, chilly, and successful!!)
Man that's cold!
Great video hungry . Man I enjoy your cooking tutorials . Have a good day sir
Thanks Steve. Glad you found some good from this.
Always learn something from you, thanks

This should be a REQUIRED video for anyone who buys a griddle. Matt, you knocked it out of the ballpark, in fact you knocked it into another ballpark. Lol Great great video! Stan
Thank you! I worked hard on this one!
Some great tips in there Hussey! Appreciate you laying down the knowledge, and yes anything above medium rare beef for me is a sad panda time. Cheers brother!

@@thehungryhussey I always find something useful in all of your videos. Thanks for doing them.
O.B.T.W. went to Lowes yesterday at the troutman I77 exit and they have a load of Blackstone grills and accessories. More than Walmart
Well done from a novice cook!
Love this video, I am always cooking too hot on my Blackstone and always I never have what I need and have to run back and forth into the house. It does'nt help trying to grill on a humid day.
Hey Mathew great video lots of information Thank you Brother love ya 👍✌❤💪
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for your tips! Love my black stone!
Glad you enjoyed them!
Your video popped up when I was watching another video. We don’t have a griddle right now We’re looking for a place to move to first then We will be getting a griddle. I don’t like the grease drain in the back so will probably be getting the member’s mark 5 burner griddle. When I get a griddle I’ll definitely be using these tips. Thank You for the good video.
Brand doesn't matter my friend! All these can be applied to any!
Great video! One thing I would like to ad is I to always ate pork tenderloin well done. That is till I got it served medium (pink in the middle) at a restaurant. It was the best pork I ever ate. Not talking about BBQ On the other hand, I have never cooked pork tenderloin on a griddle. Keep up the good work!
Pork is much better around the 140-145 mark for sure! Thanks for watching.
Watching this while prepping my breakfast to cook on the Blackstone.
Awesome. Hopefully you got something from it that was useful.
Matthew ! Lots of information in this one, might have to call you DOCTOR Hussey from now on , THANK you Frank from montana.....
Haha... Thanks for watching Frank!
I want to say a very informative video. Got a griddle last fall and started using it and this video helped a lot. I have one question, how you handle washing hands/sanitation when dealing with raw meat?
I’ll use gloves sometimes, but many times I’ll use a spatula to remove from plates onto the griddle.
Well said.
Great video great advice thank you very much for everything you were talking about it was very helpful I just need to figure out how to get a Blackstone griddle like the one that’s behind you with the air fryer I am not the richest person in the world and I really truly admire that Blackstone griddle that you have it is amazing I have a real cheap Blackstone it works and I love it but the air fryer looks like it would be an awesome edition I’m going to have to work hard to get my hands on one
I believe Walmart still sells these, I think.
Welcome back on this cool Saturday morning March 26th👍NC
Thanks Gene!
Hussey you the man.....
Thanks for the kind words!
Thanks for the awesome tips! I'm getting a Blackstone for my birthday this month so I'm really excited! I was also wondering where did you get your cutting board? I really wanna get a massive butcher block cutting board like that
That's from Tennessee Butcher Black, here's a link - tnbutcherblocks.com/
You can use code "Hussey" for 10% off too!
1. You might need a knife….a mayo knife! A mayo knife. Love this man.
2. Walk of shame is definitely different when you are a backyard chef vs college years.
3. You missed the cheerwine. Stay hydrated.
I like those additions! Haha
Of all this I get the Med Rare.. I always pull at 126. Great content
Thanks ya'll!
some of the new propane tanks have a valve inside that controls the pressure of the outgoing gas. To avoid this problem. open valve about one turn, open first burner too low. This will keep the pressure valve from shutting down the pressure. After that, start then other burners and open the valve on the take if needed.
I sure wished I would have seen this my first two cooks, although edible, not to good. I learned planning your cook from the very first one and don’t set plastic close to side vents. I had a nice little oil fire the first time I used my griddle. I have since gotten much better. Practice practice practice. Cooking on a griddle is busy and fast folks, so pay attention!!
You're so right Jerome! Like you said too, the more you do it, the better you'll get.
you got a follow once you said steak Medium is when you start cutting off your friends 🤣😂 Medium rare all the way!
I will say we have been eating pork with a little pink for years, it is amazing!! but yes, it was a little off putting the first few times 😁
Pork at 140° will yield a pink interior.
Do you have a link to the small plastic boats you use for seasonings and such?
Sorry Hussy I haven’t noticed your sign hanging up behind you, but if it was there before, I was to busy watching you cook lol..Anyway I love It!
Haha... It's been there for a while. For whatever reason, my camera liked it better than me. haha
thanks for this video!
do you have a link for your stainless steel griddle presses?
Here you go - www.thechefspress.com/
@@thehungryhussey thank you sir!
Hey Hussey, what was the knife you used when you made the big boy breakfast.?
6" Dalstrong Shogun X series... Here's the link 0- dalstrong.com/products/ss-x-6-in-chef
Hey Hussey, what meal would you tell someone to make first on their brand new Blackstone?
Oh man... That's a tough one. I'd say breakfast is always a good thing.
Well aid.
Planning...so correct this at #1!!
I usually start my griddle on low then adjust temp as needed. Most foods never need total heat.
Any thoughts on the royal gourmet brand griddle?
Not sure I've seen one before. Probably just fine I'm sure.
All good tips, especially having ur stuff ready!! Too many walk of shames can create a lousy meal.
Haha... That's for sure!
Where do you get the stainless steel tables from
They're from Amazon. 2' SS Table - amzn.to/3t6kxGI
24"x48" SS Table - amzn.to/3849sz9
Wind. If it's too windy, griddling is a no go.
True for some for sure... Maybe some wind guards are needed?
Where did your apron come from?
