Sam I love your stuff. I'm interested in following in your footsteps. Could we maybe talk via email. Horrocksjms@yahoo.com I would like to hear how you built your channel, and how successful your web sales are.
I'm sorry Sam! I had a feeling I should have emailed you before making that video. I would just say, go with the flow and try not to worry. People will understand even if there is a delay. We enjoy watching your work in action, thanks for sharing.
I got my oven push/pull tool yesterday. It's awesome...excellent craftsmanship, and works perfectly. Thank you sooo much! Would love some other kitchen tools....
@@Samcraftcom I see that you are overwhelmed with orders, thanks to Doug and Ashley! LOL I guess that's a good problem to have. I really do enjoy watching you craft your items you're quite talented!
Sam, love your humor. The Mr. Rogers reference and the Scarface reference. The video is enjoyable, letting us see you turn the sticks into useable utensils. Your commentary is balanced. You have brought Balance to the Force.Thank you, Sam.
You are always in a good mood and you share that with all of us. Thank you I don't know about any one else but you and your wife bring joy and smiles. Have a great and blessed day
I’m a bit behind...too busy watching your other channel.... I’m a dress maker by trade.... but after turning up x amount of curtains/ trousers/ skirts the creativity fades...but the finished item...is what drives you...plus for filling someone’s need is a plus! I was going to mass produce masks...made one so far 🤣🤣🤷🏻♀️( my main frustration is lack of stock ...need elastic ) 🙋🏻♀️🇬🇧💕
Nice job explaining this part of your business. Thanks. I have some experience with making wood items to sell. The two of you are being much more successful than I for sure.
Hey Sam.I'm Harold from Mt.Pleasant , NC.I work at a cabinet shop and if you have not already you should go to all your local cabinet shops as they should have a ton of scrap wood of all types that they just trash thats big enough to do what you do.jyst a fyi.
Yes..you got a beautiful place..another place i go is the local mills..they will often have some ruff cut smaller stuff in various woods thats not good enough to sell to like shops or stores but will sell cheaply to us woodworkers.
I like your intro👍. Ever thought of making a turning blank by glueing a light wood and a dark wood together? It could match a checkerboard cutting block. Glad to see you back in the shop. 🦀
Just recently found your Greenacres homestead page and SamCraft page. I have enjoyed both of your channels. They are very informative and entertaining. Was wondering if you ever make mixing spoons that have a bowl? Like a soup spoon. Also one that is shaped like a soup spoon but with holes for drainage? Keep up the good work guys!
I've made a few spoons. They're very labor intensive or I have yet to pin down the easy way. :) Carving out the inside by hand has taken me hours for each one I've done. I'd like to add them to my offerings someday.
Would there be a way to make a jig to drop the turned product into and then have it hold while you drill? Just trying to figure out the work flow and how it could be quicker for you. I just found your channel and I’m really enjoying it!
Hi Sam. I am new to your channel as just discovered it from your shop vac adapter video. Had a thought that rather than marking out each blank for the hole, could you not quicky make a Jig that the blank fits into, then clamp the Jig to your drill press. Then you simply put the turned blank into the Jig and pull down the drill. I did this for a resin bracket that I make, that needs a 2.5mm hole in an exact position to take an R clip. Cheers buddy Andrew.
It's nice to see that everything is handmade and not created by AI or something of that nature. It's nice because hardly anything else is handmade anymore. Cheers.
Can’t find the shop tour that is asking for ideas for wood storage. Me, personally, would clean out the side room/storage room. Reorganize, consolidated. And then creat a wood storage are within. That’s my idea. Good luck.
There's a problem with your website for Sam crafts it wasn't let me view it it said I've been blocked for too many attempts to view it even though it was my first attempt
I've got a suggestion why don't you build a gig instead of having to mark every one by hand. Builds gig where you just lay your turned pice down into gig -clamp it down n drill the holes. This gig will need to have a metal tube for the drill to go through to drill holes. You could have the holes all ready drilled in the same time it takes to mark the the holes on the turned blanks. Also make a removable tempalet -that has a slots to position parting tool at correct distances apart- drop templet on your tool rest n drop parting tool into slots n make your cuts. I believe these 2 gig's will tighten up your tolerances and cut several minutes off the time for each piece. Just think about it I'm not telling you how to do it just making suggestions . May have 2-3 parting tools with positive stops for different diameters. If so color code each parting tool. Then start thinking about next operation should be from one machine to the next might want to have several tables that roll from one machine to next- then line your machines up from one operation to next to save steps. Time is money. I worked in a production machine shop for 7 years. Every once in awhile boss would come along with a stopwatch n note pad how many seconds for each part to drop they looked for a 70% production . That way they knew how to bid jobs. I ran 2 machines they ran 2 shifts 24 /6 (1 day off week) each of my machine I ran would drop a part every 6 seconds. Blanket orders - order would come 7 million parts then before that order ran out another order for 11 million. I'm not bad mouth n you that story stick was a good idea but it's more for playing around / hobby/enjoyment like it was before you started getting covered up with orders. Good luck in your business n may you be blessed hope it works for you.
I really like your idea and appreciate you sharing your knowledge! I've never worked in a production shop, so do not know these things. However, they are great ideas that obviously work! Thanks!!

It's been a long road for sure, but we're starting to make some headway. :)
It’s so cool to see how you make.
Like the computer sometimes says "I am not a robot". 😉 your skill is showing in the craftsmanship of your product. 🤗😎🙌awsome.

Nice work Sam !!! :-) Dennis
The mark will make that push/pull oven tool stand out. It is unique. Growing up we had a tool like that with a longer handle.
Thx for this. And thank you for the nut butter stick. It is beautiful and I love it. Hang in there, this, too, shall pass.
I like your intro👍.

I know all about that too much work stress! 80 orders in 30 days for me. Shew.

That's a great idea! Glad you're here and enjoying the place. LOL
The masher you have, will that work in the cone shaped collander you use for mashing tomatoes, apples etc?
You'd probably want more of a taper on the end for those food mills / collanders.

Maybe a jig for the template tracing
Great idea!

What do you charge for a push pull stick?
The prices vary on wood species and options, but here’s a link to our small business website: greenacrehomestead.com
@Sam your are funny lol
Good Stuff Sam, you'll get on top of it soon 🙂 I lose interest after I have made one of something. Take care 👍
