SB could use better announcers for sure and the scrolling at the top of the entire field with only 5 laps to go is a bit ridiculous. Nobody cares at this point who is 41 laps down. Lap times and delta's of the top 10 would be nice but seems TV producers are the experts and giving us what we don't need.

I know I'm missing more racers but those were the BEST races!!!! The only two names I knew that we're racing was Michael Barnes and Michael Dunlop, Barnes I think had a chance until his pit crew messed him up.

The 200 just isn't the 200 anymore without superbikes. Nothing against the 600's but it's just like watching an old 600cc supersport race. Yes good racing but just not the same. The 200 was great when the 750 superbikes raced top marquee riders on awesome bikes.

The two most popular are MotoGP , which are the fastest / most expensive motorcycles in the world (think Valentino Rossi). The second most popular is World Superbike, which are very very close to what you can buy. Also, many countries have their own racing series, such as MotoAmerica for the USA, and BSB for the United Kingdom. Does that answer your question?
The picture is becoming clearer. I knew about Motocross, but not hard top racing. Literally by accident I discovered MotoGP and over time found out that it had a respectable following many moons ago. This sport takes a special person to ride these bikes. Shame how far it's fallen here in the States.
I raced flat track at AMA sanctioned events, in the 1970s. The AMA officials were mostly a bunch of arrogant assholes and yes they ruined road racing in the United States.

What an exciting finish! One year after winning this race, Brandon Paasch went on to win his second consecutive Daytona 200 last year - and I hope he does it again in 2023. As a fellow New Jersey native, I would love to Brandon score three in a row at Daytona in March.

@@xSoccerxCorex the 200 stopped mattering about 6 to 7 years ago when fox ball sports 1 took over speed and never put the 200 on and when the thief's at the ama took away the class.
They have been doing this on the Daytona track since 1962. The race itself goes all the way back to 1937 where is was on the beach until the speedway opened up.

What's happened to the Daytona 200. I remember being there in 75 and it was one of the most prestigious races in the world. Only the very best riders in the world with full factory support. The only name I recognized was Michael Dunlop because I seen him at the IOMTT a couple of years ago.

What's happened to the Daytona 200. I remember being there in 75 and it was one of the most prestigious races in the world. Only the very best riders in the world with full factory support. The only name I recognized was Michael Dunlop because I seen him at the IOMTT a couple of years ago.

That's the tragedy of the 200 any more...when you call to order tickets to the event they ask if you'll be racing or just spectating this year.
Actually, you may be on to something 🤔, make the Daytona 200 an amateur only race. Should make for some hela good entertainment.
