8:40 this looks eerily similar to Dale’s wreck 20 years ago. The fact Brad was able to walk away from that under his own power is a great testament to the safety improvements nascar has made since then.

@@freyaj03 As a F1 fan just here to see something different real quick Mc whatever would of been slapped with a DQ for taking out P1 and P2 and called into a meeting with the stewards possibly getting a race ban. But I guess Nascar has no rules basically. I'm shocked nobody mentioned this but most F1 fans don't watch this.
@@HondaDasher He was bump drafting. He didnt intentionally wreck them. You have to bump draft at Daytona he just pushed a little too hard. It happens atleast once a race at these tracks. Now if you intentionally wreck someone by bump drafting at a regular track you would get a penalty.
Good thing that everyone was able to walk away from that last lap crash. Those flames made it look really bad.

Absolutely. As an F1 fan it was honestly a heart-stopper, after the events of the Bahrain Grand Prix last year - Grosjean’s horrendous crash with his car splitting in two
I understand the trauma. But sparks are different to an explosion. I was amongt those who realized the Grosjean explosion was potentially a deadly one, and in tears and prayers as an atheist on second 2 of the long wait. I remember it took many a while to kick in to that realization. I mean those 23 seconds where the longest we have seen in recent years. But in Nascar, they already worked harder to prevent those old fireballs, plus i think the EMR is doing an amazing job too. Something F1 should have learned from a long time ago. Anyway. In Nascar and Indy its that last corner exit that worries me most. The pit lane entry crashes are stopping a car instantly. But a spark and a flame at high speed on a nascar is not anything to worry about. Hope people won't be too traumatized every time there are a few flames. Remember the racers that got killed with no flames. Its just as horrible and we know that and pray every time a crash happens that everyone gets out.

I love how when theres a bunch of wrecks people complain about the cautions and it being a demo derby but when theres actual clean racing almost all the way through people complain about it being too boring. Do people actually expected these guys to drive like idiots for 500 miles just to put on a good show? They dont go single file because theres no other choice they do it cause its smart cause thats how you put yourself in position to win these races

What race did u watch? He bashed Keselowski so hard that he ran into Joey and they both spun out. That is dirty at its best to use your car as a battering ram to take out 2 guys ahead of you

@@stevenplaskett7728 inexperience really. The noses on these cars really don't line up like they used to for allowing bump drafting. This happens every "plate" track race. He had a run and thought he could push.
@@stevenplaskett7728not that I am a fan of Mcdowell but he did what he was supposed to do. Race hard and take advantage of any opportunity the millisecond it appears. Without hesitation otherwise you will loose your shot. Poor Brad & Joey they are such clean drivers that have never done any wrong to any other driver on the track.

I would have liked and assumed race would be delayed until Monday! I missed it live, and was looking forward to a good race with fresh drivers, and better weather. When all the favorite drivers crash, maybe patience is the best course of action. Congratulations to McDowell. 😔

That was a really boring race compared to what we expected. To be fair, there was a 5 hour rain delay and a big wreck within the first 15 laps.
Also for the last lap wreck, McDowell gave a bump to Brad and they misaligned and they wrecked. I don’t think McDowell meant to wreck the field. That was another case of last lap Daytona, unfortunately.
This is all coming from a guy who doesn’t like McDowell.

Brad was fine after the bump, watch it closer.... the wreck was from Logano dodging down when Brad went to go inside with the new momentum from the bump and PIT'd himself on Brad's front end

This race just meh, Big one happening on lap 14 taking out a ton of heavy hitters, 5 hour rain delay just to see a train the rest of the night, but it ended well with an underdog winner, wished Chase got it but second isn’t bad and happy for McDowell. And also happy to see everyone climb out ok after that horrific last lap crash

Too many weather delays for the Daytona 500 in recent years. I think it's time to move it to the summer (mid-season) before the end of Fox's schedule. I thought this was delayed until Monday. DVRs aren't good about recording events that run over. Disappointed.

Step 1: Join Front Row Motorsports
Step 2: Wait a few years
Step 3: You have won at a restrictor plate. (or Pocono)
Front Row wins in 2013, 2016 and now in 2021, two of them in restrictor plate tracks.
