He has played beautifully. The audience was knowledgable... this was obviously an informal gathering... which is why the audience was so liberal with their wah wah's. He is enjoying himself, as are the audience. You can't expect him to play like he was 30 forever!
I understand where you are coming from, if you notice even Ustad is a bit uncomfortable playing, i recently attended one of his concert, and let me tell you trust me its not time for him to put the sitar down, he still plays like a lion :) its just that there are occasion where you end up being in situations where you cant say no and have to play. dont judge him from this video.

First learn how to respect Music,try to achieve what Ustad Rais Khan sahib has done. He did 12 hours ryaaz daily for Years and years. He played 24 hour concert non stop. Aap zara kar ke dekhaiin.. Only little cowards talk rubbish about great human beings. Sit next to Ustad ji or even with his son for a ryaaz session, tab dekhna kaise paseena nikaljata, hawa tak nahi millega saans lene keliye.

From what I have seen/had read about he is teaching his son(and it shows in vids of his son) Dont get me wrong though, his playing in his younger years I do enjoy more.
