Does the direct-to-video sequel Stand Out as much as the original cult classic A Goofy Movie did? Is Max going to college something Esh and the writers can see I 2 I on? Can Esh think of any other way to force a Goofy Movie reference into this video description?
The answer is no. No he cannot. A-hyuck.

Yeah, I remember hating Max in this movie and legitimately wanting to punch him in the face for the way he acted towards Goofy. While he does have a point on Goofy being too clingy towards him, he gets pissed at Goofy for unwittingly outperforming him when HE was the one who wanted him to join the Gammas in the first place so he could get an easy win over his competition. He took advantage of Goofy's good-natured attitude and tried to use to his advantage and got what he deserved for it. And also, he had the nerve and audacity to think that Goofy was trying to trick him when he warned him about the Gammas cheating in the contest
And I agree, there's so much more they could have done with Max and Goofy in this movie rather than just reusing the same plot from the previous movie and erasing all of the character development that both of them got. I think it would have been more interesting Max starts to worry about still being part of Goofy's life once his starts dating Sylvia and worries about Sylvia possibly taking priority over him. With all the time he spent trying to get away from Goofy, he begins to realizes that he misses him and needs him more than he knew and this possibly starts to affect his performance in the X-Games as well. However, Goofy reassures his son that he has a spot in his heart and his life that nobody can ever take from him and Max likewise returns the gesture. Maybe Roxanne could make an appearance as well or at least show that she stills stays in touch with Max when he goes off to college, showing that they're still talking if not dating (I personally prefer the latter because Max and Roxanne are freaking adorable together)
Personally I would have changed it to probably I'm sorry Max I'm just trying to get closer. Dad I'm really just upset at the fact that we made agreements and you broke them. I understand you miss me but You need to remember also you came to school so you can get a degree ever since you've been hanging around me a lock you've actually been failing your classes. Maybe I can be a little more understanding but dad can u just remember to remember our agreement
Ok. Goofy's Entrance into the class room and Max's reaction.. Best Part of the Movie!
I actually love this movie, so I'm glad you were pretty kind to it.
TheHeroOfTomorrow honestly, almost my only problems are the inconsistencies and the X-Games nonsense. The rest I thoroughly enjoy.
@@FictionAddiction getting an eyelash in my eye can hurt and also annoyingly itchy
@@FictionAddiction Out of curiosity, why is this video not featured on your main channel page?
@@supermariof0521 I assume because it is simply old, and the main channel page mostly shows newer videos. Are you suggesting I make a "best of" list? Cause I might.
Poor Goofy 3:20
Max: No, dad, this is for you. Read the inscription.
Goofy: Might not be your little boy anymore but I'll always be your son.
Me: Great! Is there an apology note also?
I wish the movie took away the sports contest and focused on the character development such as Goofy finding love, PJ finding his true identity, and Max trying to survive college.
I love how Bradley's face just swings at different directions so fast
...how do you only have 3000 subscribers? You deserve way more!
Cryo The otter Thanks! Spread the woooord
@@FictionAddiction I question the same thing
As far as the direct to video sequels went, this one was just okay, I hated how the whole "I want you out of my life!" plot point gets repeated again though.
'Except on Germany. Nein on that one.'
**Arin Hanson voice** OOOH MYYYY GOOOOOOD!!!!!
The Shake a groove thing scene is iconic and fun to watch now and again for fun!
If it wasn't for this coming out first, I would swear that Bradley was designed after that goofball main antagonist from The Purge (2013).
In all honestly I only saw the original Goofy Movie like twice when was about 12 or 13, and if I'm honest Roxanne was my favorite character in just how cute she was and was one of my first fiction crushes, though I was start puberty at the time. Looking back now, Goofy Movie was pretty good, with development, tension, and a fun climax. I actually saw this movie on Netflix about a year ago and enjoyed it despite it's problems, for just about all the reasons you stated. Anyway, nice review!
I'm pretty sure Thanos would win that Snap Fight in the club
Is... is Pj voiced by the same voice actor as Carl Wheezer?
Yes
It might be implied that Goofy lost his job as a mall photographer when he danced out all excited about taking Max on a trip.
Re: Roxanne
She was a girlfriend at some time in Max's past, then she wasn't. For how long do you bring up old girlfriends over your life?
Great video!
Tbf, when it’s relevant, I tend to bring up past relationships, even my first one that I had at the same age Max started dating Roxanne. (14)
14:09 OH MY GOD GOOFY INVENTED THE DAB
😂😂
@@pootytang763 max did it in the first movie
It's now timeless. It can no longer be considered dated if Goofy invented it.
One of my least favorite things about old animated Disney movies: they always introduce characters too adorable to ever forget, my heart would melt a little everytime Silvia was on screen.
The first time I actually watched this movie was my final semester in college. That made watching it really funny to me!
Hey, man. Just wanted to say I was a fan of your old Horrible Horror series and was bummed when you had to end it. I admit I didn't watch the last series of vids you did talking about this new channel you were going to do. I actually just came across it a couple days ago when i was feeling nostalgic and looking through your old channel. I'm happy to see you're still doing your thing. I've enjoyed your reviews thus far and started watching some of your Let's Plays, currently around halfway through HuniePop. I can only imagine what an experience that's going to be. To make a long story short glad you're still in the UA-cam game, and keep up the good work.
I miss watching this movie. I had it on VHS.
We need another Goofy movie
(I honestly liked the latter much more than the first)
Γιάννης Β. Same, if I ever get to become a film producer, this is idea will try to make happen.
I was about to watch this on Netflix but I wanted to see if there were any reviews on it 😂😂 I'm surprised to have found yours but so happy lots of people like this movie too!
fun fact: when I was a kid I thought this was an alternate universe from the first movie, I can't believe it is a sequel lol
maybe it was the fact that there was some missing characters and that some things didn't add up, coming from the first movie
Excellent review, Esh! You're so damn good at this.
2:22 MRS POTTS????
great video esh, as always, been a subscriber since the old channel and you can see your improvement in every video. keep it up man:)
12:21 lmao omg i cant stop laughing 😂
Same! 🤣🤣🤣
Same
This is my first video of yours and I really enjoyed your commentary, great job c:
I hv a weird obsession for Bradley Uppercrust...
I remember see promos for this film a lot on Toon Disney
12:20 i need this as a gif YESTERDAY!
I LIKE CHOCOLATE MIIILLLLK!
I tried: tinypic(delete this and put a . Instead)com/r/vy5jkw/9
these were all my thoughts about the movie. thank you.
You know I do find it funny people seem to think that the 90s and anime for the rise of geekdom truth is you can trace that stuff back to the 30s with Syfy and fantasy books conventions and even cosplayers
I always remembered the first movie with the hot tub scene in the first movie 1995 of Neptune Inn,
And I liked this scene with the jacuzzi and the pool and everything. XD
Her name is Mocha Chino, as far as I know, though that may be a pseudonym.
Fiction Addiction this was a great review, it was the reason I watched more of your videos and subscribed to your channel. But have you ever thought about doing a review of the Buzz Lightyear of Star command movie?
Not really. I only ever saw a handful of episodes. But I might give the pilot movie a go sometime.
And don't forget this movie came out in 2000 were the whole EXTREME!!! from the 90's was trying to stay a thing but just died horribly.
Frigging good on the "here is what they COULD have done!" great constructive criticism!
This movie was nothing but a big commercial for the X games
Hey man, just found your post on reddit!
I watched Goofy a lot!
Really loved it, great video! :)
I like Chocolate Milk lol😂😆.that got me I laughed so hard
12:21 I LIKE CHOCLATE MILK... i blew milk out of my nose
(Wheezing Laughing)🤣🤣🤣
Bob's right 1:48
i was worried this was a prank. thank god it's not.
12:21 I think it’s hilarious because it’s true. 🤣🤣
Good 1 mate! 12:20
guess since disney owns espn they wanted to show some sports stuff here too.
1. I love this movie
2. That is racist of you said but i love the hat .
3. Where is peg and pistol in this movie ?🕵🤔.
What happened to Roxanne
To be honest I like this movie better than a goofy movie
Shyanne Nelson what?!
Why do some of the characters wear gloves , while others don't ?
In trying to stay a light comedy, they avoided what could have been a great heart to heart scene for the father and son. It IS hard for parents to let their kids grow up and live a life they aren't as involved in. But also Goofy WAS trying to get his own life. Early in the movie it establishes he has a high opinion of college graduates and he was looking forward to that education opportunity he couldn't have partially because he was a single father and had to focus his time and finances on raising Max, so going to college was an absolute life goal come true for him. He wanted a new good paying career, not just a job to support himself and his son which was part of that dream of an education. And he falls in love for the first time in who knows how many years. This was a golden opportunity for us to see a photo of Max's mom and address how lonely Goofy was without his son, PJ, and Bobby always being around. Goofy was getting his own life, and was trying to set Max up to have better opportunities than he had. And they needed to hit on Max understanding how much Goofy gave up for his son and lost as a young man when his wife died or left. The first movie was about Max starting to understand and appreciate that he had a wonderful father, and he should have continued learning that even deeper in this movie. Uppercrust is exactly the kind of person Max could have become if Goofy had been more like Pete and they should have made that more obvious to the audience and the characters.
And keep in mind the series itself where Max is always looking to Pete as a role model because he is financially successful, no one makes fun of him, has a hot wife, and has a lot of big expensive things. He is constantly making poor decisions that could get him in trouble but somehow it always works out and they all seem like things Pete would do. PJ on the other hand is calmer, doesn't think Max's ideas are good sometimes, and is closer to what a child raised by Goofy might be like. So it really could have addressed that Pete was a bad influence even though Max looked up to him for all the wrong reasons.
Max.exe stopped working
10:14 I know who Harlan Ellison is, but I don’t get the reference.
Gonna love the way she says Get ooout!!!
The X games finals thing is basically SA2
KornIncubus Fan1999 Sonic Adventure 2 (an awesome game btw)
is it ok that a goofy movie is my favorite Disney movie of all time I watched this movie 6 times in 2 weeks
I really like ska punk music, but seriously, every time it came on as the film's soundtrack, I wanted to slap myself in the face. Maybe because it's the same tune every time.
Cant help but think back to goofys how to dance short
Uppercrust or whatever the bad guys name is always unnerved me when I was little. Something about the way he's animated made him look out of place and weird.
Make that six people who get that joke. Haha.
who is Maxes mom?
Remutar 69 plot twist: It's Daisy Duck
Goofy has only been married/with two women and one was a cow. The other looks human and face was never shown
Hey Esh good video but I think you accidentally replayed some footage
This was my dads favorite movie when I was a kid. I never really understood why until recently.
Also, I hope I don't come of as a dick but I'm genuinely surprised by the fact that you're only in your 20s. Not because you sound like a 'crusty old adult', but because I originally watched your videos during the days of "Horrible Horror" what feels like ages ago.
9:11
Yeah that made me laugh.......hard.
To be honest what I don't like about either movie is that people always try to take a side. Kids try to side with Max adults try to side with goofy.
What we should be doing is siding with both of them and be angry at both of them. Max was of course annoyed with his father and wanted to rush out of there But he should have been more understanding and caring about his dad missing him.
We get goofy that he is depressed and misses his son but he still has to understand that his son is trying to move on with his life a little bit and he needs to learn to let go.
The biggest annoyances was goofy breaking the conditions he made with his child and max being angry but not also actually sympathetic
That’s not really a reflection of the movies themselves, that’s public opinion. Both movies frame Max and Goofy as being extreme on one end of the spectrum and perfectly understandable on the other. Yeah, I know the sequel is retreading older ground by having Max blow up at his dad but here, I think it’s a lot more understandable because Max is an adult now and doesn’t need to be looked after anymore. The circumstances surrounding the way he was acting certainly weren’t good but I think I can understand why he ended up doing what he was doing. He just wanted his independence and at this stage of his life, that’s not an unreasonable thing to ask for.
Goofy, on the other hand, needed that extra push to let Max go and start figuring himself out. Now that he has Sylvia by his side and being done with college, he’s finally ready to take that step. I’d love for them to explore this sort of thing in a sequel series to Goof Troop or a third movie. Maybe give more context on what happened with Max and Roxanne, bring her and Sylvia back and also flesh out their characters beyond being love interests to Max and Goofy. If DuckTales is able to come back, reimagine older characters and introduce new concepts, I’d love for the same focus to be put on Goofy and his family.
Much like Cap, I understood that Harlan Ellison reference! HA!
You should watch the old Disney short called bell boy Donald. You will never see pj the same.
green decepticon oh I've seen it. It's hilarious to see people refer to the goof troop versions of Max and PJ as "originals"
Fiction Addiction I guess he mellowed out and become became the shy and nice person he is now because Donald spanked him.
cars 6 roary big race 2023 will be similar to an extremely goofy movie
I never booed your ouns
Love me some Goofy movie, the sequel was pretty good even if many dont agree
i love this movie. btw theres tons of odd porn of the love interest in those movies. i saw the sequel first though i watched the first later tho.
You this sequel missed the mark. Because it never had a follow up and no one talks about this one. Except youtube movie reviewers. And even if it did have follow up sequel later. No one cares.
Nine for that one
Nein
Please don't say goofing off, it's gross
