What an informative video discussing the glorious black history in this tiny town. I remember another video discussing this town mentioned the idea of a rest stop, given the precise location on Highway 13. What a brilliant idea! I went to this town yesterday all the way from Union county on a zip trip with my grandma. I hope to return shortly, being able to talk to the locals.
The juxtaposition of Corning w/ Rendville in regards to racial treatment astonishes me. My grandmother tells me on the racism that she got to see growing up in Northern Indiana. Running a truck stop, her mother would hear often of black folks asking if they could eat there, back in the 40s. Her response would be a positive 'Of Course!' each time.
