its really a shame that even 1rod, one of the most positive youtubers ive ever watched, has to deal with hate because of how shitty society has become, nomatter what “secret spot” you have, someone will always find it, not once have i ever heard this dude say exactly where he is, i live in south jersey which is probably one of the most pressured parts of any state in the country and everytime i think i find a secret spot theres already 100 other people that know about it, we cant let the sport of fishing become a big negative cluster fuck like everything else in this world, keep up the great content mike, dont let shitty people ruin your vibe 🤙

We all pay our dues for fishing license. Some pay more for a life time. We practice catch and release. I see no hate in letting another angler fish the waters I've fish for them to learn and teach others. We all want to have fun, be one with nature.

I was referring to the indigenous peoples in the area. I am a really nice guy. But they just took my kindness for weakness. I use to fish with Skye. But then I found out he just uses people for spots and burns the hell out of them. I actually showed him this spot in the video two years ago. When someone shows you a spot on the down low. You keep that spot to yourself not show the entire world. You people don’t understand the back story to all this mess. If y’all did you would be just as upset as I am and as others are with the situation. It’s not just this places that has been burned it’s multiple on the low down type places that have been burned. Skye doesn’t fish to fish. The dude fishes for fame and clout. He doesn’t care about other anglers all he cares about is himself. And there are plenty of others that can Vogue for this.

@@brooktrout8568 try a small single hook blue fox, I don’t even gear fish often, but thats what lure I would use for C&R. By all means use whatever for catch and keep! Orrrr just use barbless flies & keep em wet.
@@troutvisionllc yeah, I'd rather just use flies. I'd use spinners in deep lakes though. I've found the barb can do damage but treble hooks are alot worse for messing up the fish because it can get caught in strange ways

Maybe it's cause I live in Texas, but I've never seen anyone get defensive about their spots.
I wish it was that way here in NJ. you guys have 109 people per square mile, we have 1211 people per square mile. Good spots are hard to come by because the rich people that can afford houses on the beach don't want us there, and they have all the pull politically. we're constantly fighting it, though.
he got so offensive because there wild trout which are very uncommon in most areas. people like these guys blow up spots and attract people that don’t know how to fish. believe it or not some fisheries are ruined because of this

I’m the guy from the video wish everyone just knew the back story to all this. Skye is one of the biggest spot burners in the area. He uses people for spots. He doesn’t care about anything but the clout. I actually showed him this spot in this video two years ago. And he takes 1rod there. All the places he goes to and films at he was shown. A lot of those places where for your eyes only type places. He lost a lot of friends because of this. A lot of people stoped f***in with him because of this. This dude is a know spot burner in the community. Not only that but they also fished two illegal reservoirs that are public drinking waters and filmed in these areas. 1rod keeps saying he hasn’t gotten a notice or anything yet, but he is probably going to get fined. Guards from these places have seen this video already and have been on crazy high alert now.
@@tylerhoward9492 dude its sad how selfish people are when it comes to fishing its sad i remember fishing in a parking lot with my dad and uncle and two people pulled up (one in a wheelchair) and i was casting directly in front of me near a dock and the two people 20 ft to the left of me started casting OVER MY LINE and started cursing me out saying i was getting tangled in their line so my dad started shouting back and fourth saying hes gonna fuck them up eventually leaving but its a pretty funny memory since it was a disabled dude cursing me out. Some fishermen threatened to cut my dads line when he accidentally crossed over it once. People like that guy are so sad 😂

Sincere fishing ethics question: Wouldn't it be more ethical, when you're convinced that the fish is going to die, to take it and eat it, instead of releasing it?
Common sense would say yes. BUT size limits, or harvest laws may not allow.
At least other wildlife would benefit if the fish does die.
sad how things happen sometimes, but the fish wont go to waste. might be dinner for a hungry animal, or if anything it decomposes and becomes food for the entire water ecosystem plants. in nature very little actually goes to waste

He was by posting pics and videos making it obvious to those who are in the tri state that know that spot but were maybe to nervous to actually fish it but seeing someone they follow that’s pretty big might embolden them to follow through. It’s called spot burning , no one actually cares that he wants to fish it but like , take a fish pic maybe behind some trees and not make it so obvious. It’s a local special spot especially for the native people in that area. If you don’t know then you won’t understand.

I use to fish with sky. I’m the guy in the video. I stopped fishing with him because he’s a spot burner. He uses people for spots. And does it all for clout. He doesn’t care about the people he fished with and or the waters he fishes. That’s why I stopped fishing with him. That’s also how he knew it was me up river because I showed him that spot two years ago. He knows me so that’s how he knew it was me.

Fish wherever you want all these spots are here for EVERYONE to enjoy. Unless you’re on someone’s property fish wherever its legal buddy. I hope you see this comment if you do please go to the raritan bay in South Amboy and catch some giant stripers that are running! Up to 50lbs now it’s incredible
People in that area from certain parts aren’t to happy with 1rods fishing certain spots, I know everything going on you people don’t so keep the comments to a minimum because 1rod also edits a lot of stuff and tells half truths. Just like the fake news media.

@@jamesps7515 as someone who knows the area very well and the municipality of that town there’s no such thing as getting permission to go there I can promise you that much.
Another thing I would like to point out is in order for him to get back there , the section that he was in you have to literally trespass into my friends yard , since my friends home goes back into all that land so he literally trespassed on my friends property and my friend has trail cams all over and saw him on his trail cams.

We honestly don’t care if he fishes there the only the problem is I understand he does this for a living - but when you go to certain places like this body of water which also is very important for the people that live in the area
That are native and have lived there for decades and have respected that water before either of us were born.
It’s a respect thing if you want to fish somewhere fine but if you’re going to take pictures maybe post the pictures where the trees are in the back instead of showing the landscape of the body of water in the area that he was it was very apparent an obvious where he was.
And my whole thing is you don’t always have to post every single fish and every single fishing experience to social media whatever happened to people just having an experience and not having to document it on their cell phones maybe I sound old-fashioned for that.

Like sending me DM’s and stuff- and my husband got involved because he’s passionate . He was upset but this is the very end of the conversation , he’s a good person and wanted ppl to be more respectful of spots that is all. If One rod was truly respectful and truly cared he would’ve put out a statement and deleted the original picture on his Instagram and video on his UA-cam that started this whole BS and it would’ve been water completely under the bridge.

A little secret about fishing with Rooster tail lures, Always put a BB split shot about 10-12 inches up line from your Rooster tail lure….you WILL get more bites and catch more fish….I’ve done this for decades with great success….

@@1Rod1ReelFishing I've kept trout for like 5 hours even in the summer with no ice and it's fine, you just gotta gut the fish and just put em somewhere that works. I've kept fish in my backpack when I don't have a bag to put it in. Sure its messy but why waste something that you killed. I'd feel guilty as.

I know that spot used to live 10 minutes from there and also have chatted with the guy you ran into.....he's a good dude loves fishing and is just looking out for you guys. First of all just wanted to say how glad I am to see you back to upload every 2 days or so. And you have caught wild browns before in a video a few years ago with Joe's flies and they sucked so u used a panther Martin and slayed. Brown trout ate not stocked in the US unless needed to balance an ecosystem. And if your going to be trout fishing you should pick up some hd trout from dynamic lures, they are the best trout lure in my opinion when I cant catch them on anything else I throw that and catch almost immediately. I'm 12 so I dont know everything but what I do know is that your vids are the GOAT and keep doing what your doing.

He was by posting pics and videos making it obvious to those who are in the tri state that know that spot but were maybe to nervous to actually fish it but seeing someone they follow that’s pretty big might embolden them to follow through. It’s called spot burning , no one actually cares that he wants to fish it but like , take a fish pic maybe behind some trees and not make it so obvious. It’s a local special spot especially for the native people in that area. If you don’t know then you won’t understand.

even if you don't eat fish , someone else would you shouldn't just leave it man. Also you should change the hooks on your lures if you releasing trout. Change the treble hook to a barbless single hook.

Awesome video but one thing I definitely suggest fishing for trout is to pinch the barbs on your hooks dude, that fish died due to that dude putting to much pressure on it and it’s gills being ripped up it happens so no big deal but if you want to minimise it try these tips good to have you back man 🤟🏼
