stallone actually offered that role to him. unfortunately arnold turned down because he was busy filming the "terminator" so he went to dolph lundgren instead
Apollo was a warrior, no matter what. Getting his face beat in, yet said “No!” when he saw Rocky about to throw in the towel. Plus, with the way Drago shoved the ref aside, I doubt that a towel would have stopped anything anyway
I think the reason they wanted him to throw the towel was because they knew that Drago wouldn’t stop punching after it was thrown, meaning he could get disqualified easily if Rocky threw it. Since he didn’t throw it, Apollo dies and Drago wins. Just a theory.
@@ILikeSoda229I think it's because Apollo did not believe in giving up or playing cheaply, and felt that if he was gonna lose, he should accept the loss with dignity. I don't know if he knew he would literally die though, so there's that.

This hits so deeply now knowing Carl Weathers is really gone.
Rest in peace Carl Weathers...we love you man😥
Don't feel bad. He got his hand back
One of the
most disturbing and upsetting scenes in movie history.
Imagine if Arnold played Ivan Drago lol
Vegeta solo Ief hie dies hie dies!
Vegeta solo too unrealistic. he's too buff to make him a boxer.
stallone actually offered that role to him. unfortunately arnold turned down because he was busy filming the "terminator" so he went to dolph lundgren instead
Agent 47 good decision by arnie
Vegeta Solo omg
Rip Apollo Creed 🥀
Rest in peace champ, there is no tomorrow!
RIP Carl wethers
2:05 That Rocky look gives me chills every time. With a look he says to Drago "You will pay in blood for the death of my best friend".
R.I.P Carl Weathers.
"If he dies, he dies." Well, his tongue finally made it through customs
@@314rft pretty sure sly said he regretted killing off Apollo or something like that
Rest in peace Apollo... for real this time
Saw this in theater as a kid, Now as an adult this scene will never be the same for me. RIP Carl Weathers.
2:02 the moment Drago realized he has a HUGE problem on his hands
Yeah that's why he was sweating.
This age well
Rip Carl Weathers…❤️
Rest in Peace to Carl Weathers. Gone too damn soon🥊
Rest in peace Carl Weathers 1948-2024 fly high❤❤ 👼👼
RIP Carl Weathers, this hits even harder now 😢
huh Drago's "If he dies he dies" was very depressing and prophetic.
