But homeless tents , cracks smoking in the streets is ok .
Yup
Yet you voted Liberal 😂
@@LexWellington nope
Who the hell just leaves out a basketball net in the street when they're not using it? You don't own the road. It has wheels for a reason.
Basketball is a losers sport anyway.
@@Dave-gy5mvwhat does that have to do with it
It’s because they get in the way of the car thieves and don’t forget to put your vehicle keys out for them too
"crime didn't fit the punishment"? what punishment? they didn't even get fined
Drama queen and the entitlement.
Its about time and property owners should check where your property really begins and ends.
Love how they find the guy who complained his net got hit because it was overhanging the road and he admits he called it in. Way to ruin it for everyone Mr Entitled parent. hahah
And he still thinks it's unfair.
Exactly! He thought he was gonna get someone in trouble. Loser didn't realize he was in the wrong. Ottawa where the by-law complaints outnumber the residents 😂😂
waddya mean I can't put my stuff on other's property...
My basketball net was on the garage in our driveway. We were taught as kids to not play on the street. Street hockey was more field hockey in someones big backyard. Privileged.
It's pretty silly to put a net near the road. Kid complaining that a ball hitting you hurts, well imagine a car hit
That wasn’t the issue
Lots of kids played on the streets back in the day
Even hockey nets were places in the middle of the road, where you yelled car and everyone got out of the way
@@DW-op7ly back in the day when that was common. Not now. Now cars speed up and not used to kids playing. Unless it's a closed street, it is a very dangerous idea. Playing roulette with your kids life
What we weren’t supposed to tell the kids to play in the street
Where can you put it? In your backyard or in your driveway where we had ours when we were kids. Stay away from the roadway for the protection of your kids. Wake up parents. Geez.
The nets get moved so the waste management company could do their job. It's not rocket science.
Now the kids won’t be occupied playing basketball. They will be in a gang by the end of the summer. Thank you waste management company.😢
Rob look what you started
When I was a kid, we had our basketball net attached to the garage. Sometimes the ball would roll down the driveway and into the road, and we would run down, check for cars, and snatch it back quickly. Losing control of our ball that way was something to be embarrassed about. The road is for cars and we were not so self-entitled as to think that we had a right to encroach on it. Before that, we had a portable net off the _side_ of the driveway, away from the road. Again, no problems there, and the kids were a lot safer. "Go play in traffic" is sarcasm; it's not meant to be taken seriously.
Homeowners think just because there is no sidewalk they own it. They don't own the easement. It is public.
What's next road hockey ban!!! CAR!!! We pull the net's out of the way and then continue our game!!! Does anyone remember that?!!! CAR!!!
You can play basketball, just don't leave the net in the street.
Rob should’ve kept his mouth shut and the waste management company wouldn’t have called the city.
Ottawa is a dump anyway.
Rob should have kept his mouth shut. You can move those nets easily, Miller doesn't want to be responsible for damaging their trucks or someone's personal property, meanwhile the law is the law. Move the net to play, move it back when done. Don't be lazy parents. Also the weight is irrelevant, they have wheels for a reason.
Agree 💯 in your driveway
It's noisey and dangerous. We pay taxes for parks, sports facilities, and arenas for a reason.
The street is for vehicles. You want to play, go to a park.
The street is for the homeless to leave their needles on, silly
TLDR its Robs fault
I totally agree with this bylaw
Better no nets . Go in a public park
Boomer thinking. Not every park has a basketball court. Actually most aren’t even in walking distance.
where the meth addicts have their tents? yaaaa great idea
OH NOESSS, I have to move my basketball net a couple of feet away from the road when it's not in use!! *uproar! consternation!*
Eeeerrr I have to drive a foot further to the right. This is an outrage!
@@thehighlightsreel953 Um... what side of the road are you driving on? 😂
Not just suburban. Plenty of these nets in sandy hill
they had to keep the entire b ball setup inside their property and the children should not be allowed to play on the road . then everything will be alright.
Next thing you know, they’ll be kicking 7 year olds out of NCC property for having a lemonade stand without a permit! Oh wait… 😒
I will be keeping my net by the road 24 7. F bylaw
Put it over your garage door. Kids shouldn’t be playing on the street anyway. When I walk my dog I have see way to many times kid running after the ball and almost getting hit by a car. Residents in the neighborhood drive slow but the delivery guy don’t
Because ottawa would rather attack kids than go after criminals
Our neighbors net almost killed a kid, it fell right on top of her when she rode her bike past their house, wind picked up at the same time. Kid was lucky she only got a couple stitches.
Lol, you Canadians are funny.
A kid's gotta do what kid's gotta do. Let them play
You bothersome kids, get back in front of the tv!
I guess they would rather see kids sitting in front of their computers instead of exercising.
Petty petty petty…
1:20 future wokeness
I literally tell Bylaw officers to F off. Cops too if they forget who works for who.
Tell the bylaw officers to f off and then get upset when they crawl down your butt. By the way - They don't work for YOU. They work for the city as a whole.
Maybe we should get rid of hockey nets since we don’t play hockey in Canada?😵💫😵💫😵💫wtf
Keep your junk off the roads its real easy.
so instead of kids playing ball in the yard of their parents they prefer the kids out doing drugs and committing crimes
