It's definitely possible. I know people are harping on the "5+ years experience" but it's possible. I passed the AWS CCP in 1 day of prep and I have never used the platform in my life, when I passed it I had never worked a day in IT, and had only been studying for IT stuff for 70 days to that time.

Hey thanks for this video. I've been studying and reviewing the information for this certification since Jan. 10th 2021. I DID NOT commit to the certification until I watched this video. Today I purchased the exam and committed to taking exam so that I am not studying for a half a year (6 months). Plan on taking the exam soon.

UPDATE: I was able to finish the AWS Cert Course in 14 days (a little longer than anticipated, but doing an hour or two a day of studying after work was much more manageable). I passed on my first attempt :). The 5-7 days is doable, but definitely glad I took the extra week.

what is it that you enjoy about Mechanical engineering? If you enjoyed design, then cloud architecture could be a good fit. If you enjoy more of the implementation then yes, go cloud engineer route. IT is very general, what skills do you enjoy and would like to continue developing. Always happy to help!

I would say just start poking around, get familiar with the console and services. Then from there decide whether you want to do more analysis work, engineering work, or admin based work. Then look into certs from AWS or other cloud providers that correspond with your choice.

This cert is a very general one and can lead to many paths depending on what your other skills are like. I recommend using this cert as a basis to getting more!

Naturally you will learn the industry and you will gain other certs to expand to diverse fields if IT. Cloud practicioner is a good “pair” for networking and also start for cloud specialist. But one thing you will realize about IT is that theres no one cert or degree that will lead to a specific job. The field is versatile. Focus on your skills and use certs to validate it. Not to promise you a job.

No you can't. I think gotta get at least 2 certifications. Im 14 and have 2 certifications (practioner and solution architect) so I might be wrong but its not very difficult to pass the first one. Anyone can pass the first one

First I’d look to learn about basic Linux and python programming. Then move into cloud basics. Again, that’s just my preference!

Use Linux Academy to avoid charges. They allow you to use an AWS account that they provide when you do the hands on labs.
