Fifa's job is to advertise, and provide equal financial investment into all (including Women's) soccer so that the sport itself brings in revenue...they have failed...not lay it on the players. The athlete's job is to WIN only. FIFA does not advertise or sepnd nearly as much on women as they do on men from even grass root movement. It trickles up.

Here in Europe, rugby players are paid a fraction of what soccer players are paid, simply because soccer generates far more revenue. I know they are different sports but at the end of the day, it's all down to generated revenue and viewership.

It seems like the equal pay thing comes from a misunderstanding. The men get a higher demand to watch their games, but they get a small percentage from a bigger pot; whereas the women get a bigger percentage from a much smaller pot. Whoever's paying them can't afford to give them the same amount of cash for that reason, plus the percentages paid out is highly in the women's favour without having an equal amount of interest, so they're already shelling out more than is required if they were to pay based on what they get back. But also, I don't know what happened for the world champions to get beaten 5-2 in real life by kids under 15 (who weren't even the best U15's in the world), but that does the argument no favours. To be fair, a rematch would definitely have half the world watching 😂

Simple ... in most other countries Soccer is a boys sport. At my school (in England) us boys played Soccer or Rugby or Cricket during P/E class and the girls would play Netball or Hockey. There was never any overlap. As this video said, the U.S. invested more in their team than any other country. In America, it's more of a mixed sport with both boys and girls playing it (not against each other).
