I have a specific love for this channel. Changed my life. All my tools off the ground, off the shelves, and right next to them are their pieces. Blades, attachments, wrenches. Everything I need.
The only thing these diminish is the swearing...
Thank you very much, so glad we could help you organize your shop
@@SpecificLove7 Keep going. You just give more and more new ideas...
Welcome back! You appear to have refreshed yourself. You always do a lot of great work & indepth details on the how-to's. Love how you share & give credit to whom it came from. May have never told you & it may be the break we've all had. " I really love your enthusiasm with everything you do "! Be safe & blessed, thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much Anthony, your kind words are just what I needed.
Love the overhead light.....what a great idea!
Thank you
Your re-designs are definitely an improvement and using better quality plywood sure makes them look nice. They look very professional. I’ll stay with a lesser grade because I’m cheap. Lol
Thank you. If you are not planning to show your holders off to the world like we are, you can make them with whatever you like 🙂
Absolutely loved the light bar
I am genuinely very impressed. Thank you so much for continuing to create. I simply love your channel. Thank you, sir.
Thank you very much, Mark, that means a lot.
Another great episode of cleat ideas. Loved the pie pan/paper plate one and the way you redesigned previous ones to be more compact and functional! Excellent. Thanks Very Much!
Thank you, glad you like them.
SLC french cleat videos are must see content. THANKS!
Great ideas. Here's a tip to eliminate the waste on your angled cut offs. For a 3" cleat cut a 6" wide board then just cut your 45° angle down the middle. Two identical pieces, no waste.
Nice ideas ! If you attach the lamp to a caster frame, you can also turn it away. So it doesn't take up so much space. Such a frame also works well for a dust extraction or a power feeder
I like the way you think, thank you
Paper plate saw blade storage is genius!
Thanks for the shout out Clinton! Your videos definitely inspired me to go the French cleat route!
You are very welcome. I'm glad we could combine our minds to create another video to help others.
Love love love your videos!!!!!
Your idea are simply awesome. I am loving this whole series. I especially appreciate the post holder. I hate kicking it over on the floor. Thanks for that one.
You come up with some really cool ideas. I love that you make it easy and affordable to make, as always great job and thank you.
Thank you very much KC
Great ideas!! Thanks!!
Thank you very much Cleatus.
Great idea's THANKS
Excellent
Those scrap 45 cuts I glue onto the edge of another 1x2 and it gives me a whole nother cleat for the wall!
Yay! Welcome back!
awesome light!
I love these videos Clinton!
Thanks Merlin
Great job. Been waiting for more ideas.
Thanks Neil
@@SpecificLove7 you’ve gotta be the best FC videos I’ve seen. I’ve built my shed storage and outdoor workshop walls based on your vids. Keep ‘em coming.
Good video and job thx for sharing and the info Be safe God Bless
Thank you Larry
More great ideas. Thanks! I’ll have to check out the FB page
Awesome, I think you will like it
Awesome content as usual, but how does #19 work? Seems like it would only fit a cleat that is narrower than the frame.
You are correct. That design is for people who want a cleaner look but are less worried about moving them around.
@@SpecificLove7 ok thanks, I was afraid I missed something! I am about to build a large (6'x24') cleat wall so I am trying to plan and anticipate as much as possible. Your videos have been a great help, thanks so much for taking the time to put together so many tips!
positively crazy 🤩
Fantastic I look forward to all your videos ❤ thank you for all the ideas. The extended light for the dark areas Brilliant. Is that light battery operated? If so where did you get it? Now if you'd excuse me I'll be heading over to the Facebook page for cleats 😀
The light is not battery powered. I just did not have the cord connected for the video so it wouldn't keep getting in my way.
Hi, I am a big fan of your videos, especially french cleat ones. Thank for sharing. I am going to use 20 of your ideas on my french cleats, which I already have. I also need your opinion; is it safe to screw french cleats to osb? Does osb carry the weight? Greetings from Istanbul.
Hey mate, love your videos with all these ideas ! I’m just curious to whether there are actual plans for there to be utilised for others to make them ? Thanks
I did not make any exact plans for these holders because each brand of tool is a little bit different and would require you to modify each holder.
Another winner! Thank you Clinton. Please tell me whether the LED light is powered by battery or AC?
This one was AC powered
@@SpecificLove7 Do you have a preference, in general?
Signed up for the French Cleat on FB, Good to see you back on UA-cam making more French Cleat videos. So I have a question about that 3x3 wood turning holder, not that I have a lathe or make one, but the design makes me curious: When it's loaded with the tools; it is easy to get the tool you want? Do you have to pull them out by the blades and reach around the other tools (are they sharp)? I admit that is a good looking holder, but does it work in the shop as you expected?
Those are some very good questions Ray. The lathe tools are sharp on the ends but not exactly like a knife. If you hit them hard enough, they could cut you, but for the most part a slight bump won't hurt you. I haven't had a chance to use them while turning anything yet but I think it will work well. And yes, you do have to grab them by the metal, but it can be further back where it is not Sharp.
@@SpecificLove7 That's the thing about shop projects, you have to try them out and see if they're going to work for you. I like the design of it... but time will tell if it is practical. What I liked about the original one is that you can see the tool you want and you can grab it easily by the handle... Another variation on this idea is turn all the tools around so the handles are sticking up... Unfortunately you can't see the tool's tips so you might need to make a new holder where you stagger the tools in 2 rows (maybe 3) making the holder wider but easier(safer?) to grab the tools. The staggered rows could be at the same level, or elevated making each row a bit higher going back. As you know there's so many possibilities and that's what makes this so much fun! 😀 Anyway... I love your creativity and videos and BTW: I was accepted into the FB group, I see your post there. Have a great day!
Great ideas as usual! I would like to know how you made those 1/8" recesses for your turning tools. It sounded like you used a Forstner bit but I thought they all had center guides that I didn't see in your work. Did you use a router? Thanks!
I have to admit I used a CNC for that but a forstner bit would work well
Thanks for another great tip as allways still like your videos. I will check out your FBI page.👍👍☕🍩🇨🇦
Thanks Dan
How about adding a french cleat to the side of your work bench/outfeed table to hang some french cleat tools/parts/supplies while working on projects.
Thanks for all your great french cleat ideas. I’m well on the way in my own very small shop👏 Q: How do you make the small boxes in # 1? Just glue or are any nails involved? The material looks rather thin😝
I believe it was just wood glue. It is very strong once it has dried.
@@SpecificLove7 Thank you. Can't wait to see the how-to video on that 😂
I just finished making a quick n dirty Ridgid Oscillating tool holder...Yours is way nicer... I need to rebuild.
That is one nice thing about building our own French cleats holders, we get to rebuild a few of them.
I made my French cleats 5” wide with 5” in between them (I think that is your preferred spacing). I’ve made my reverse cleats 3”. Do these cleat widths sound about right or is it overkill? Appreciate you sharing your knowledge with this DIY wanna-be woodworker enjoying retirement!
Most of my French cleats have a height of about 3.5" and I've not had any issues with them. So 5in might be a little overkill, unless you plan on hanging a bunch of heavy items.
Is the light extending overhead battery powered? If not it would need some provision for the cord.
Very true but most workbenches should have a plug nearby.
For your saw blade holder, maybe reinforce the plate by covering them with duct duct tape to strengthen it. And why not do a cleat with peg board? Could be real useful. Another one is take a coffee can & put your air tool hoses & accessories in the can the put the lid back on it. I've used it on my bench on peg board & it's extremely useful.
Great ideas thank you
I present the same content from Egypt.
where did you det the over the door hangers
There is a link to my Amazon page in the description, where I have them listed under the French cleat ideas tab.

Cool video. Use a service like P R O M O S M!!!
nobody but nobody addresses the issue of shop dust covering your cleat items. Cabinets with sliding doors will solve the problem. Your thoughts
The cleats do collect some dust but I recommend to blow out your shop at least once a year which removes that dust.
Good ideas...please stop raising your voice though
