KYOTO MAIKO PLAYS A GAME WITH A TOURIST
Вставка

- A beautiful maiko in Kyoto plays Konpira Fune Fune against my husband, an Australian tourist. At each player's turn, if the tin is there, he or she must put a flat hand on it. If the tin has been taken by the other player, he or she must knock a fist on the bare cloth. At any turn either player may remove the tin. The maiko loses so very charmingly!
her little “oh noo” when she lost was so precious omg🥺💕

@Miguel Rodriguez Just a quick correction. She's only been training for over a year or so, also a lot of maiko join the profession (at 15 at the earliest) with very limited artistic background. Some have taken traditional dance classes or music classes before the joined, but most don't have a whole lot of artistic experience when they first start ^^
Isn't the foreigner doing the same thing plus singing wouldn't affect it

Geishas and Maikos are so beautiful! It's amazing how hard they work to become so graceful and elegant. They literally dedicate their entire lives to their craft. Such a beautiful art form.
Is a shame that the Geishas are seen as vulgar prostitutes in other countries...Mine is one of them and is a Shame. Maikos and Geishas offers their art for entertaiment. Not their bodies.
@@KillerPoi i never anderstood what their job is... cpuld you explain?
@@xBeluuuuuux Sure. Geishas start as Maikos. They learn to play music instruments like the Koto, The Shamizen and another Ones. Some traditional games, they can be good actresses in theatre too. Some of them are Pretty good at singing. Basically, their job is to attend and entertain the guests.
@@weetbix4497 After the end of WW2. Any prostitute could use a Kimono and say "Hey. Guest what. Im a geisha, Lets fuck" japan was so broke after the war that it was usual. Specially with the US Forces bases nearby.
Aaand. The houses that educated the Geishas and Maikos, Tended to Sell their Virginity.
She is still in her first or second year of training. The flowers are traditionally for first years (the more training, the less ornamentation- it’s to help hide the lack of polish and accent the cuteness of young girls while geikos aim to emphasis the elegance of a mature woman).
Also, her hair style is done once a week. To maintain it, she must sleep on a tiny pillow that supports the neck and keeps the head elevated above everything. She must do this for her entire maiko training. Once a maiko graduates to geiko, they switch to wigs which are made by entirely different hairdressers.
Definitely in or past her second year, but before the two and a half year mark. If she were in her first year, she would have shidare attached to her kanzashi and would only have her bottom lip painted (I suspect this is from Miyagawacho or Kamishichiken). The taka makura (tall pillows) aren't actually made to support the neck, but just keep the hair mostly protected from getting mussed. Maiko normally learn to sleep on their cheek as the neck would make it way too uncomfortable to sleep and strain the neck way too much.

Can we talk about the beautiful flowery headband type accessory she is wearing, I'm not sure what the culture behind it is or what it is called but it's so pretty
It's basically like ornate decorative broaches and brushes that are supposed to be coordinated with kimono. Depending on season you end up with different kimono colors.
there's a video about different kinds of kanzashi. Maiko wears different kinds during her 'brief' apprenticeship, they relate to her 'stages' to became a geiko, but also the different seasons (which traditional japanese culture has twelve). They are crafted by specialist artisans, and are made specially for each geiko or maiko, and they mark it with their okiya name (I think).
@HyAh Link geiko wear it, on festivals and for special occasions. but they are much more subdued.

@Obito Uchiha or they just keep their mouths shut and not cause trouble in class. Majority of teachers pets are just quiet people who actually do their work. There's a reason why class clowns are liked over delinquents who cause fist fights in the hallways or break the bathrooms. My school literally closed all male bathrooms because they couldn't afford to keep fixing them. I felt bad for the male students that year. Beautiful Japan!!
Are we not gonna talk about how good her hair looks?
MAIKO are often around the age of 14, at the end of compulsory education, and women of high school to university age who are training as ``GEIKO'' are called maiko.
As for her hairstyle, as a maiko, she wears her own Japanese hair, and for the first two years of her debut, she wore a hairpin that has been passed down from generation to generation by OKIYA, which belongs to a hairstyle called WARESHINOBU. . After about two years, she changed her hairstyle to "OFUKU". And for the last 10 days before she is promoted to "GEIKO", she changes her hairstyle to "SAKKOU". When she is promoted to "GEIKO", her Japanese hair is let down and she wears a wig.
When she first becomes a maiko, her lipstick is only on her lower lip.
When she becomes a maiko, she wears wooden shoes called ``Okobo'' that are about 10cm long. The okobo hanao worn by first-year maiko is red, and a bell is attached to the back of the stand. From the second year onwards, she will gradually change the color of her flower cord, such as pink, hiwa-iro (yellow-green), and light blue. Okobo comes in black, which is worn during the summer, and an unpainted version for all seasons.
Her kimono is a long kimono called SUSOHIKI, and when she walks outside, she lifts the sleeves to avoid dragging them. This is a vestige of the old days when childishness was the selling point (during the Edo period, maiko training began with elementary school children), and maiko kimonos still have shoulder-raised and sleeve-raised kimonos. She completes this with ``DARARI NO OBI,'' which is about 6 meters long and sways when she walks. The ``OKIYA'' mark to which she belongs is woven into the bottom of her obi.
In this way, you can tell how long MAIKO has been a maiko just by looking at her clothes and hairstyle.
The hairpins are decorated with seasonal flowers such as rice ears in January, plums in February, cherry blossoms in April, and chrysanthemums in October, as well as rape blossoms, hydrangeas, and bellflowers. At the end of the year, when Kabuki is held in Kyoto, there is an event called ``Kagai Souken'' where all MAIKOs go to see the performance. At that time, they wear hairpins shaped like ``maneki signboards'' that write the actors' names on their heads and cheer them on. I will ask the actors who are playing the role to write their names.
She becomes a GEIKO around the age of 20, but those who fail to become maiko give up and quit.
Awww so beautiful ♥️🎀
Thank you. Isn't she just so beautiful?
