I’m on the look out! They do come up, but it’s just finding a rolling shell at the right price! But the Capri bubble is fading again. So perhaps good news for the Bullit!
I’ve seen many good capri shells, this one was the extremity of what can happen to them. My old laser was rust free and never welded. So they are out there. The trouble with making a chassis, so much work and really for the wrong car. If I put all that work in, I’d want it to be for something more sensible!
@@HudsonAutoFilms On the other hand doing one on a rough car first might be great practice to have under you belt for when something more sensible comes along.
£90 on fleabay , I am wiring one now, instructions are utterly useless, wiring diagram and colours do not match the loom 😂 Slowly working my way through it
@ the kit I used was from eBay but was easy to install as every wire had what it was for printed on the wire itself.i just grouped wires into dash, engine front end rear end and ran them.. I would say get the kit with more than you need circuit wise as you have room to add on stuff later..
@@TassieKustoms yes they are labelled, but very vague , some basic instructions would help as the loom is designed for old GM switch gear It's a lot of figuring out for me as trying to put one in a Westfield mating it to my own instruments / engine sensors
Some basics like where the positive feeds should come into the loom Wiring explanation of how the lights/ indicators / hazards are operated would be usefull It could be a good cheap loom with better instructions
Definitely 100% do the Bullet on a Capri chassis. I need to go back and watch all these videos as I only started watching you on the first episode of the AstonRover. Love your channel dude
I subscribed when the initial 4x4 Aston video randomly popped up and haven't had the time to watch older stuff, but that kit car stuff looks cool as hell, wouldn't mind seeing more of that eventually! Thanks for the quality content and wish you a happy New Year!
I'd love to see the Bullet build, but I think you are right in just focussing on the Aston 4x4. I know myself from abandoning projects including a complete strip down and rebuild of a retro Ducati with more than 100 hours of video to get around to editing (someday), that if I'd just focussed on one thing to completion, I wouldn;t now have 10 projects mostly finished, but not quite! I am enjoying the 4x4 project and cannot wait to see it finished in 2025. I pray to the mechanial Gods that you may never lose another 10mm, the spanner you need is always at hand and your sawblades never dull.
looking forward to the Aston returning.which is what attracted me to your channel initially..Also, your personality and Isaacs make for a pleasant experience ..Be well,,,Ernie
Thanks for your insanity/brilliance in car builds. I appreciate the update on the medical condition and hope there is improvement as 2025 rolls on. I'm only a few years younger than your dad and have built a few fast cars in the past, but would seriously consider NOT getting into the Reliant. I WOULD line my garage with the artwork panels though. Happy New Year and I look forward to your posts Charlie.
Sad to hear about youre condition. Love the chanel. When you are done with it,i can recomend norway as a destination. Would be cool to se landrover or other 4x4 suv swaped onto a rwd platform as a old corvette or bmw even. Happy new year from norway
@HudsonAutoFilms if that is true,I realy look forward to 2025's builds. If projects are getting expensive and time consuming,i believe small builds (like the fz50) is the way to go,to keep the content coming. No need for Long videos. But doing a moped over 3 or 4 videos, would be fun to watch to. Or just updates on what is next on the chanel. Not sure how the algorythm is working, but I believe a steady pase is good. Better to fix a moped,do it a 4 video build, and drop it when waiting for parts,or you are not in shape to do a bild. Back up videos are smart i think
I missed the Reliant build, I shall take a look later. I've always fancied a Kitten or a Fox to be honest, they were made not too far away from here. The Bullet is interesting and as you say a piece of automotive history. The Aston Landy is fun, I've enjoyed this series. Happy New Year.
It’s a fun episode! I’m particularly partial to a fox. Or an ant for that matter. Such a brilliant brand, misjudged these days. Glad you’ve been enjoying the builds, so much to come! Happy New Year! 🥳
@HudsonAutoFilms very interesting firm, an interesting car that didn't make the light of day was the Kitten based Cypher roadster, a sort of Sprite sized Lotus Elan.
Hi, about the towbar. You should keep it like it is. At the end of the day it's a 4x4 so it doesn't mater to much. Put your sweat on finish the car to the driving state then see what to do. 👌🏻👍🏻 Happy new year 🎉
So sorry to hear about your condition, and considering, you handle it incredibly well..... courageous...... keep up your strength. Healing wishes for 2025😂✌️🇬🇧
This is good fun and overflowing with challenges, which is, I suspect what you enjoy. What I can’t get past, is how you’re going to achieve aesthetic harmony. It needs to look right, doesn’t it? Wheels and wheel arches have such an impact and I just can’t see how you’ll achieve this without re profiling the wheel arches? Then would it lose its ‘Astonness’? Dare say you’ll sort it. Good luck for 25.
I agree, it's never going to look beyond the quality of a shed It's best to keep it as a mad max Rat style thing , because I cannot see this ever being well finished
Wishing you & the family a happy & healthy new year! I`ve missed a load of videos it seems, UA-cam algorithms seem to have changed, so I only get a tiny percentage of my subscriptions in my recommended list these days. Anyway, looking at the 4x4 Aston from the side, I thought it might look good as an shooting brake, Ferrari Breadvan style? Just a thought! Take care & all the best in 25!
I'd only seen your 4x4 Aston build. Good lord you've done a lot of cars. One build at a time mostly works, but changing up occasionally is good too. Gingium struck a good balance (until recently going all in on Honda views). You seem like you'd have really creative and unexpected ideas. Maybe a 5 or 10 minute video of your will-never-happen ideas and some low effort Photoshop might be a good idea for filler one day? Keen to see where your channel goes. Lots of potential!
Electrics are hard. Classic car guy thing. I've assembled entire cars on driveways with the proviso the owner does the wiring 😅 If you need to concentrate then just take your time with it like you said. The gold standard for wiring viewing is Binky but nobody else has the time or dedication for that.
Sad to here of your condition, so of all your Projects make yourself No1. I was wondering what happened to the Red Aston. It was what drew me to this Channel and i was wondering how you were going to sort the Chassis. Can't believe someone bought that😮 The Fake Aston is Capri Chassis is dead, have you thought about buying a Scimitar Chassis and adding the Body to that like you would a TVR? The LandAston is actually coming along well. I wasn't sure if it was possible. One Question for Road Legalities, will it have to go through IVA. Also will you have to Widen the Arches to get the Wheels to be within. Good luck with 2025
Yeah man the Bullet on any kind of home-made space-frame, even if somewhat rough, would be worthwhile. But also starting with a bad Capri that's not rusted to death - if such a thing exists and is not wanted be the Capri dudes.
Great recap video. I was concerned over the fate of the DBS and I'm so glad to hear that not only do you have plans for it yet, but that it is your ultimate desirable car. I was very worried when I saw the "rolling chassis project" listed for sale. It's good that you only sold the dodgiest stuff. Don't get me wrong, it's not all about the DBS for me. I do enjoy your channel in general and your approach to these projects. The very fact that you see potential in what most see as scrap!!! Have a very happy and healthy new year, live long and prosper, may the force be with you and I'll even throw in a 'God bless' for if you're that way inclined.
The DBS will always be my ultimate! I definitely romanticised the idea of saving the rusty core. But it wouldn’t have made sense or lived up to my expectations! But I’m looking forward to doing it properly with more parts and knowledge! I am rather partial to scrap metal! Have a fantastic new year! Health and wealth to you and the loved ones!
I’d definitely like to see the Bullet return to life, I hope you can find a road worthy Capri.
The problem with that is most Capri's are the same what would be more viable is making he own chassis from scratch and having it as a kit car
I’m on the look out! They do come up, but it’s just finding a rolling shell at the right price! But the Capri bubble is fading again. So perhaps good news for the Bullit!
