I found my spindle lock handle. It fell out when the guys brought it in the basement for me! It must have been all the way unscrewed. Keep up the good work. Green grease is good for hiding bills in. Get a jar full, put your bills in a plastic bag, stuff em down into the grease, close the jar and put it on a high shelf in the garage. As a fifty year retired machinist I can attest to the quality of this drill press. You could go buy an new one for 6 bills but I guarantee it won't be as good or last nearly as long.
Great job! Love these old drill presses.
Working on a Craftsman dual table drill press right now ...!!!
I might post a video of my craftsman table saw i restored.
Well done
Great job!
Looks great boss. Cheers. Foot switch would be dope. Hope you do it or did it.
Haven't gotten around to it yet. Thx for the comment
Dude - you’re crazy... I love it. What happened? You haven’t posted a video in over a year. Hope you’re still tinkering and I hope you post another video.
Great content coming, thanks for the push to make more videos.
Nice job... just picked up the same drill press. Was sitting in the shop at work for years and it runs.
Awesome job, I just picked up a similar vintage Craftsman drill press. Great to see they are not too difficult to restore!
Thanks for the vid.. I just grabbed the exact same drill press for free also. Totally rusted and gonna bring her back to life..
Nice job my man. Looks great. I got the same drill. I’m just cleaning mine up and oil everything down.
That green looks fantastic and now your tools match also. I like the foot switch idea for sure, that sounds really safe. If i could afford it I'd buy it Lord knows I would use it on my projects. I'll have to go back and check out your other videos, I like this sort of stuff. Thanks for sharing and as always Keep Building👍
Keep Building my bro! Thanks for watching an commenting!
I just purchased that exact drill press. Do you have any tips on cleaning the motor. And where did you get a new belt for it
And would a wire wheel on an angle grinder work to take the rust off
Harbor Freight tools is where i got the belt. i would use compressed air to clean out motor. Inlesss you have experience with dissembling a electric motor an can clean or cut the brushes an armature i wouldn't try it. Compressed air should work perfectly. Put a light coat of oil on the bearings at both ends. Take care
Looks brand new. Keep the videos coming brother
Thanks brother!
That came out sweet!
Good job!.
Thanks Bill.
Great video. Just found your channel. I'm restoring one of the bench top models atm. Subscribed and hoping to see more content. Great work.
Thanks man
Good work and the JD paint is cool! I hope that you will do more vintage tool restorations!
