  • Hey friends, this month I'm staring a new series called Navigating Moral Failure in the Church. In this episode, I dive into the tough reality of what happens when the people we look up to in the church mess up. It's a hard topic, but I want to discuss the biblical perspective as well as what we can do to help prevent it.
I hope you enjoy today’s episode and join me for the next ones!

Thank you Havilah! As an International Worker for the past 25 years, I've learned that not only us, who serve overseas have made many sacrifices when we said "yes" to serving, but all spiritual leaders have decided to make that sacrifice and step into the spotlight where we are vulnerable to the judgement by other Christians. It is heartbreaking, to hear other believers absolutely tear down, ridicule, sway other's opinions to negative thoughts about other Christian leaders who are in that spotlight, those who said "yes" to Jesus' call on their lives to serve. Because of this, we have to keep our personal "thorn" battles within our own silent wars, us and our Lord. Thank you for speaking on this subject! Blessings to you!

My heart is hurting, but I trust my holy God to always shine His light to reveal unholiness and remove it from the Body of Christ. Our faith in The Rock is the foundation that prevents us from being shaken when He shakes the church.

We have to get back to hating sin. Also we are told to confess our sins to one another, rather than hiding it.

Havilah, I’m concerned that we need to strengthen the gifts of prophecy and discernment annd wisdom among church governing groups and within the Body. Some of these moral failures have been hidden among us for many years. I trust His perfect timing , of course, but couldn’t we help our pastors and leaders and each other if we made better (and appropriate) use of the tools God has given us?

I have learned not to put Pastors on Pedestals because they aren’t perfect their human only God/Jesus/The Holy Spirit is Perfect. and definitely look to /obey/listen to God because again He is Perfect!!!@Havilah Cunnington Speaker&Writer

Thank you for this. I feel like from all over the place I have been hearing that basically if you are sad about this then that means you made the person an idol. There is no doubt a place for that message, but I think some of us are just kind of sad about it because it's just kind of sad. Thank you for putting words and verses to why it feels that way and also of course the moving on and learning from it.
