Bro, it was so good! And you were so right! I remember you talking about how no one has done Cyclops right, and they are killing it so far. His character, his intelligence, and his tactical use of his optic blast are all so awesome so far! Love it
Wild take: I think they're going to have an Age of Apocalypse arc where Apocalypse turns Storm into a Horseman and restores her powers.. I mean, if anyone could alter DNA on a molecular level, it would be En Sabah Nur.
6:24 Sorry to nitpick. But there technically was no Phoenix Saga in the comics. I mean, Marvel did not officially label the M'Kraan Crystal arc as the "Phoenix Saga" and wasn't really a Jean/Phoenix-centric story. Jean/Phoenix barely appeares in that story. All she does in it is fight Firelord and fix the M'Krann Crystal at the end. Charles and Lilandra were the central characters of that arc.
That could work too, but I think what Rob says is more likely. This show has always closely mirrored the comics. And I think it makes more sense to retain the part where Madelyne gives birth to Nathan/Cable than turn that around. Jean giving birth to Cable would just be too much of a deviation. I could be wrong. But in general, Rob's predictions on this front are usually accurate.
Has to be Madelyn giving birth. That shows that Mr. Sinister experiment works. Jean and Scott's actual daughter Hope may come to wish Jim away into the future after being infected with the techno virus or as beast was playing around with bishops time travel cuff it might be bishop that takes away Nathan to save his life in the future.
I'd rather have that, because I don't want them to retcon any of the events of the original series and have it so that the episodes after the Dark Phoenix saga Jean wasn't Jean.
@atibamorales9380 agreed. Also, Pryor has no telekinetic powers, so I'm fairly certain that Jean is the birth mother of cable in this version of the story. And honestly, the original comic story of Pryor is serious character assassination on scott, so this might be a much better route.
Dude! I smiled so hard through all this! I feel like this was made for me, and I haven’t felt this good watching a show in forever! The focus on the character relationships, lifedeath, inferno! Seeing Scott be a complete badass! So much was in just two episodes, and I and more than hyped, I’m ecstatic… or X-static!
It’s not a great “ Guess” that that was Madelyne or that Inferno is coming considering one of the Series 2 Marvel Legends is literally The Goblyn Queen that comes with baby Nathan. Also. The REASON Sinister wants the Summers/Grey combination is he wants a mutant powerful enough to beat Apocalypse. People forget that Sinister is a HUMAN that was given powers by Apocalypse. Apocalypse scares Sinister, and he wants him gone.
Except, supposing that the series is a continuation of the original, Apocalypse has been trapped in another dimension by all psychics in the Beyond Good and Evil saga (or was he completely destroyed? I don't remember). In any case, I don't know how he could be back, unless having Xavier gone means he may return. That would also explain what you see in Morph's eyes in the intro: you see some red eyes that look to me like the Shadow King, who was also trapped in another dimension by Xavier. With Xavier gone, chances are he will also try to escape and torture morph (poor guy can't get a break, nah? First sinister, now shadow king)
Only the Diamond Sinister. I don’t think the Club, Spade or Heart Sinisters ever met Apocalypse. And considering that they’re all clones themselves, the actual “real” Sinister never met Apocalypse either.
I hope this leads to story with Onslaught. I associated the animated series with the Capcom fighting games (and also the Versus games), and since Onslaught was the boss of Marvel vs Capcom one, I hope he shows up.
With the better animation this show has. It really showed how precise and skilled Cyclops is with his optic beams. The way he was using it to propel himself around during the fight with the friends of humanity and even when dude when to kick him and Cyclops hits his knee with the beam was freaking 😚👌🏿
I hope he does do a review into their relationship, because people keep whining “this is just bad writing, they’re inventing new, terrible stories and we hate it” when this was a relationship that existed for years in the comics a long time ago.
Yeah, cyclops was a huge Himbo prick in the comics. He also had a triangle with Jean and Psylocke and then had a huge triangle with Jean and Emma frost….
Scott and Emma had far more chemistry than Scott and Jean - and were a more interesting couple, in my opinion. But I remember when Jean found out that Scott was having an affair with Emma, and Jean let her know exactly how she felt about that. All Phoenixy and everything. 😂
One thing I haven’t heard anyone talk about yet is how cool it is for the intro to CHANGE as the cast changes. A hallmark for the x-men starting in the early 80’s was different characters going off to other adventures (and sometimes other x-teams) and then being replaced by new mutants. In the top left corner by the price of each comic, you’d usually see a little picture of the mutants featured in that issue as part of the main team. As the comic series went on, you’d get to see Kitty Pryde added, costume changes reflected, and the team swell and shrink with new and returning mutants as others moved on to other endeavors or (almost always temporarily) died. One of the shortcomings of the original series, as groundbreaking as it was for longer form story telling in a children’s cartoon, was the sense that at the end of each two or 3 part arc, the status quo would be set back to zero. Even the dark phoenix saga, for all its impressive adherence to the source material, left very little lasting impact on the core team by the time it wrapped. The X-Men roster SHOULD change periodically, even if it means having to miss one of your personal favorites for a few issues (or more!) If X-Men 97 can organically add and dismiss team members as the story dictates, it will do a better job translating the original comics than any other media thus far.
It felt to me like the show runners, several times throughout the show were like, “Isn’t this cool. We thought you’d think this is cool. This is so cool.” I loved it.
You might need to explain the Relationship between Magneto and Rogue. Because in the 2nd episode we get the demonstration of Magneto being able to shut off rogue's absorbing power and touch magneto.
At least for Age of Apocalypse, Magneto uses his magnetic powers to keep Rogue from actually touching him by making a small barrier between their skin.
Oh 1000% about Sinister. In the intro, you can literally see his eyes and diamond just before the Brotherhood vs X-Men cut-scene goes into full force. Also, when I realised you were right about Medalyn was when I saw her use cerebro. Omega level telepath of her might? Needing cerebro to scan Trask's mind? What added pause for me was that there is no way this power scaling isn't clear because they (Mastermold) noted Storm as an omega level threat, before she rips up the desert and claps cyborg cheeks. Our Jean ? Who's been noted as Omega Level long before Storm? Okay. Then the whole wanting to leave thing... Jean's character has a constant flaw: her empathy makes her sense of responsibility (to lead, to protect, to save, to spare, to be a martyr) one that's unshakeable (why we get the Jean Grey books, why her Judgement turned out as it did, why it is her mental blast in FoX and then through her in the White Hot Room that the mutants are 'safe'). She'd never want to leave after the team loses Charles. Not when there are threats, still. Not when the team would be out two major pillars. Not when the school is starting up again (because that house is EMPTY, let's be honest).... I'm just mad that they nerfed Storm like that. The goosebumps I got when she was popping off in the desert and then later with Mags?? The artistry, the energy, the feel of bringing our Storm from the comics to screen like that? LORD!! 🤌🏽We (I) need her back by ep 4. In her full might.
The new series does such an awesome job establishing the character relationships and showcasing everyone's powers in the first 2 episodes. Proud of the work they did on this.
Absolutely loved it! Cant believe a cartoon about people in spandex has had such better writing and characters than alot of multi million pound shows and movies.
I think I know when he switch between Jean and Madeline happened in the original series. Now we all know that at the end of Phoenix saga that jean didn't die and was brought back thanks to the x-men but in a separate episode its shown that she did die or at least went missing and during that episode cyclops temporarily retired from the x-men and battled the purple man who was mind controlling young orphan mutants at the end of the episode its revealed that cerebro found Jean grey. Now the plot of that episode is never continued but I think past that episode is when we have Madeline rather than jean. But something that confuses me if that is jean who appeared at the door why did she refer to the x-men like she had never met them or at least isn't acquainted with them.🤔🤔 you'd think she'd be more friendly considering their her friends
Didn't really expect release day spoilers in video titles from this channel. It wasn't a well-kept secret, but it would have been nice to be moderately surprised.
They made Cyclops look like a badass within the first 5 to 10 minutes of the show, more so than what any of the movies have ever done for him. The man was shooting his lasers and making the lasers move him around to get better positioning.
Since Madelyne Pryor looks just like Jean Grey, what if when Scott realizes that he's been tricked and goes back to Jean; that Logan gets Madelyne instead?
@@jakec9522that love triangle was only season 1 of the show was it not? If I remember correctly after season 1 Logan wasn’t pressed over Jean anymore and it wasn’t emphasized at all

Came here directly after finishing episode 2. Honestly, I expected to be deeply disappointed with the way Disney has been treating the Marvel properties as of late. But, it was great. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the animation, as well as the whole story so far. Yes, we've only got the two episodes to go off of so far, but it's definitely a light in the dark. Bro, it was so good! And you were so right! I remember you talking about how no one has done Cyclops right, and they are killing it so far. His character, his intelligence, and his tactical use of his optic blast are all so awesome so far! Love it
I need that "previously, on XMEN!" back
I mean. They did it for each episode. It’s already back. It’s been back.
Wish granted, they did it for episode 2.
They said it on Episode 2
Magneto: "Previously on X-Men "
@@arc7375 I mean the whole animation for it
When Jube's gave sunspot "that look" at the rave and hit them plasmoids on beat I fell in love.
Wild take: I think they're going to have an Age of Apocalypse arc where Apocalypse turns Storm into a Horseman and restores her powers.. I mean, if anyone could alter DNA on a molecular level, it would be En Sabah Nur.
Bro I swear I was thinking this as well. Storm as Pestilence and from the way it’s looking: Gambit as Death
They could flip to where Jean is Jean and the Jean at the door is Madalyne.
That’s what I was thinking it was….
To see how they made use of Cyclops' power was just amazing to witness. I can't even express how thankful I am that Marvel continued this series.
Cyclops aiming at the ground and then shooting to slide sideways was badass. Seeing him land without a parachute was epic.
I love how Cyclops is the MVP 😂
@@oshomronisupposedly apocalypse is going to be reborn through decosta
Only the Diamond Sinister.
I don’t think the Club, Spade or Heart Sinisters ever met Apocalypse.
And considering that they’re all clones themselves, the actual “real” Sinister never met Apocalypse either.
The animation in this series is incredible!
This was so good man
I hope this leads to story with Onslaught. I associated the animated series with the Capcom fighting games (and also the Versus games), and since Onslaught was the boss of Marvel vs Capcom one, I hope he shows up.
Who came here after Episode 3?
Casual fan get out
With the better animation this show has. It really showed how precise and skilled Cyclops is with his optic beams. The way he was using it to propel himself around during the fight with the friends of humanity and even when dude when to kick him and Cyclops hits his knee with the beam was freaking 😚👌🏿
Can you review the relationship between Rogue and Magneto? How is he able to touch her and not loose his powers in X-men 97?
Bio electricity it’s explained in the age of apocalypse and savage labd
I hope he does do a review into their relationship, because people keep whining “this is just bad writing, they’re inventing new, terrible stories and we hate it” when this was a relationship that existed for years in the comics a long time ago.

Yeah, cyclops was a huge Himbo prick in the comics.
He also had a triangle with Jean and Psylocke and then had a huge triangle with Jean and Emma frost….
I mean, Wolverine is always trying to get with Jean too
Scott and Emma had far more chemistry than Scott and Jean - and were a more interesting couple, in my opinion.
But I remember when Jean found out that Scott was having an affair with Emma, and Jean let her know exactly how she felt about that. All Phoenixy and everything. 😂
X-MEN IS BACK BABY!

@@shaxarts lol. I know I had to think about it for a sec.
Aye Cyclops's hero landing had me hyped af! That was one of the coolest landings in all of fiction
You might need to explain the Relationship between Magneto and Rogue. Because in the 2nd episode we get the demonstration of Magneto being able to shut off rogue's absorbing power and touch magneto.
Agreed. I just finished rewatching the OG series and I didn't understand that relationship or how he did that.
At least for Age of Apocalypse, Magneto uses his magnetic powers to keep Rogue from actually touching him by making a small barrier between their skin.
Read AOA
This is yhe cyclops we always wanted from Marvel Vs Capcom
Spoiler in the thumbnail?
Came here to say that
What's the spoiler? It's just the xmen standing around
It seems they just changed the thumbnail @@AlexHeathman
I'm rewatching again tonight this perfect for me, took me back to when I was a little kid
bro im trying to duck spoilers while i bingewatch the og series ik its years old but yall making this so hard 😂
Yes. It truly was. To hit so many beats in one 22 min episode was impressive.
Didn't really expect release day spoilers in video titles from this channel. It wasn't a well-kept secret, but it would have been nice to be moderately surprised.
So why would you even come on UA-cam knowing your algorithm was going to be Centered around the show that came out TODAY💡
How about you don’t spoil an episode in the thumbnail on the day of its release.
They made Cyclops look like a badass within the first 5 to 10 minutes of the show, more so than what any of the movies have ever done for him. The man was shooting his lasers and making the lasers move him around to get better positioning.
Which proves beyond the doubt the movie focus was Wolverine and barely the others. They literally turn the X-Men into a one-man show.
Since Madelyne Pryor looks just like Jean Grey, what if when Scott realizes that he's been tricked and goes back to Jean; that Logan gets Madelyne instead?
That would be a perfect solution to the love triangle once and for all. And honestly, I hope that happens.
Well she is a clone of Jean
@@BrnticusJ Exactly! It's a win-win for everyone. 😊
@@jakec9522that love triangle was only season 1 of the show was it not? If I remember correctly after season 1 Logan wasn’t pressed over Jean anymore and it wasn’t emphasized at all

Not the best thumbnail mate. I haven’t seen it yet, but giving off potential spoilers
This show is the best thing coming out of DC Rebirth right now!
The caption should have been "Spoiler Alert"
No shit there's gonna be spoilers. Its a recap of the ending / episode. If you couldn't make that assumption then that's your problem, sounds like an intelligence issue
Yes your intelligence seems to be an issue for you. Sorry Stan, didn't mean to get your panties in a bunch about a comment made to someone who wasn't you. 🤡😂😂😂😂😂
This show so far is everything I wanted it to be. Fantastic job. I hope we get alot of seasons!!
Well, it's cool that it's back but damn... on technical level... the animation is really, really, really mediocre, even compared to the original, and it's been 30 years...
Listening to the opening title screen with surround sound. The bass and drums oooosh😎
Cyclops is gonna piss off depowered Storm and we gonna see a 1v1, and it’s gonna be dope!!!!
Yep! I totally agree with this one!!! The first 2 episodes of `97 blew me away and make me feel like a kid watching the original series again! Cyclops and Storm got their "Boss Mode" powers and attitudes back too!
Thank you Marvel & Disney. My wallet is opening up to you again because my heart feels like I NEED MERCH again! Keep the show going like this and you can have my money! 🤣
XMen 97 is off to a phenomenal start! The beginning of Magento's redemption, Sunspot's intro, the destruction of Master Mold, Storm's tragic twist, and the emergence of Madelyne Pryor all in two episodes was excellent!!
These 2 episodes are getting a lot of buzz and it reminds me of when we are young and after watching the episode and discussing it with friends the next day in school. Of course now is in social media and comments and we also have a lot of explained videos for those who might not be familiar to understand better.
Very impressed with this so far. I didnt think they would do it justice but they have absolutely exceed my expectations.
Heard Jubilee mention "golden balls" in ep 1, small detail, but I think that could possibly tease something in the future considering "Egg" is apart of The Five, I'm loving X Men '97 already!
I also liked how it isn't entirely serious, their were funny aspects, jubilee was very nice, gambit and rouge relationship going on a rocky road is such a good touch, wolverine still mocking cyclops , and cyclops being cooler than ever
I just hope they bring in more xmen tho, really excited to see iceman, nightcrawler and kitty?, they were pretty nice in live action so yes
Great 1st episodes and it was also great to keep the opening and end themes 😊 They fixed/improved Cyclops' mobility! The fall from their jet was awesome.
Morph is obnoxious! Would really hate to be around that guy 😅
The photo with the 1st Xmen in old gears confused me. I know there were episodes in the Animated Series but why was Angel there
Magik is a character in this show, so I think we are actually gonna do the limbo stuff. That might be the reason Disney fired him.
Thanks for the connection with the comics
Magnetos eyeliner is on point.
Im so happy they managed to make Cyclops into a fucking badass! The tingles man, the tingles
Also, the Magneto/Rouge relationship?! Im surprised you didnt mention that Rob!
This has been amazing so far. I only hope these first two episodes are a sign of things to come. They got me pumped for the future of the Xmen cartoons
I mean, I'm 36, X-Men the animated series WAS my childhood. It's what got me into comics in the first place. I find myself surprisingly excited to see where this goes.
