Had the KS with the Moza R12... Both were good. I can definitely say the GT Neo is a better buy. More bang for your buck, more buttons 2 "fully functioning" funky switches, and the thumb rotarys on the grips. Also, the neo has better grips that don't dig into your palms as much.
@nativerezmedia Great to hear from you that you have used both, thanks for commenting! Would you say its worth having both? Why did you end up switching over from the KS and R12?
@@MichaelSmithRaces I liked the KS and R12, but I live near a Microcenter and they had a bundled deal on a GSI X29 and Simucube 2 sport for $999.99, couldn't pass it up. Basically $200.00 dollars more for $1850.00 worth of gear. I waited to get my GT Neo until recently because I know of the first batch woes, I haven't had any issues yet and I've been hammering mine. I know Jardier had his before they were released so he definitely got a pre-released one (not sure if that is why his broke tho).
@nativerezmedia thats an unbelievably good deal as in the UK the sport is more than that alone! Intersting you got the neo when you have the X29? That looks to be a great rim!
@@MichaelSmithRaces The X29 is a great Rim, just doesn't have the features of the KS or the Neo, like the rotarys. If the X29 had rotarys I would have kept it. The ergonomics were the best, the grips were perfect, with a nice soft touch rubber. The GT Neo is not far behind, plus I get one extra middle encoder plus the two side rotarys, and a shift light!

@SoloWing. Im going to do another video specifically comparing the ES and KS on the R5 base and from my rough maths its 15% weaker, which is probably about how it feels to me, its noticablely weaker for sure.

Nice review Michael, I have the R5 bundle and the KS wheel. One thing I have found with my KS wheel is that the buttons rattle a lot with high frequency vibrations, its very annoying and makes the wheel feel cheap. I was wondering if everyones KS wheel does this or do I have a faultly wheel. Does your KS wheel rattle just out of interest. Keep up the good work
@garyfacey6822 I generally drive with headphones, but yes it does rattle. If you see my latest video about my new wheelbase and go to the driving section around half way through you can hear if it sounds similar to yours when I run over the kerbs etc!
@@MichaelSmithRaces Okay that gives me peace of mind to know that’s normal for the KS wheel, I find the ES wheel is totally silent which is strange because it’s a cheaper wheel. Thanks for the tip about the headphones. I will try my Bose quiet comfort earbuds 2 which are Bluetooth 5.3 first, hopefully there won’t be much audio delay. If I do have bluetooth delay issues I will try a pair of noise canceling headphones with a 3.5mm audio jack. All the best, happy sim racing 😁

@hardusbooyse8896 the mechanism or the actual shifter paddle? That must have taken some doing! If you are after a GT rim to replace it then yes you cant go wrong with the KS its much better than the ES! My ES vs KS will be out on Friday, wait for that :)
@@MichaelSmithRaces there is a plastic bracket inside that cracked, the metal paddle attaches to the plastic bracket. they will send me a replacement at least. I'm not the only one with this issue. I had the GT Neo with the Alpha Mini and had absolutely nothing but problems. I returned everything for the R12 and KS and couldn't be happier. Plus the software is night and day better than Simagic and overall quality just feels better to me. Just my experience though
The KS design is significantly worse. On the Neo, you can access the QR screws easily. Can't do that on the Moza KS. The RJ12 cord on the Moza KS looses connection over time. I have had my KS for 10 months and have had three defects. Granted, I use a 20 NM base. I doubt you will have the issues I've had with a 5NM base. @glenndjenkins thanks for the comment, you got three replacements?! thats mad! I agree with your sentiment though, pair the right equipment for the best experience!
I'm glad you brought up the issues with the grips on some of the GT Neos. I've been mulling over buying one as a backup to my GT4 wheel (which I've had zero issues with). Lol The KS looks pretty good, but I think I'll wait to see if the GT Neo gets revised. It's a small thing, but I wish the Moza Hub had a power button. Good video, though!
@vt6020 yes initially I thought I would buy the GT Neo and have a head to head and I can sell one later if I dont use both, but after seeing the issue with the grips I didnt want to take the chance as I think its probably just a bad batch and im sure they will sort it soon now they have been getting all these reports!
